When an individual experience an unpleasant situation, it is typical for such person to feel depressed. For a person to be diagnosed as suffering from depression such person must have had one or more depressive episode periods that involved more than just “sadness”. Significant stressful life event like medical condition, infirmity needs immediate attention and medication. Converse to the hopelessness and misery those suffering or experiencing this pathology called depression can be extremely treated and be reintegrated to the society. Some dominant characteristic must be present for the person to be diagnosed of depression. In a major depressive episode “sad” feelings are accompanied by constant problem in other area of life – problem such as decrease or increased in appetite, more or less sleep (insomnia), loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities like sex; loss of energy, feeling of guilt, reduced ability to think logically or concentrate, feeling of worthlessness, suicidal ideation.
