Please we don't need to descend this low, please let us all let peace reign as we can't gain anything from been enemy but can gain a lot from been friends and friendship doesn't stop us from criticising each other but it should be constructive criticism and not damaging criticism as no one can ever force his/her opinion on others.

All that you've written above can simply be termed 'fallacy of appeal to sympathy (argumentum ad misericordiam). Tell me another story abeg!
You can call it whatever you so wished ma, I only used myself as an instructional material just to drive my topic home and as a teacher you should understand so whether you believe or sympathise with me neither add nor remove any value to me.

Here's another NCE sympathiser! Do you even understand the crux of the matter at all? Or you simply have a problem with comprehension! For you information, I didn't start the name-calling, your henchmen did. Scroll up and you'll see all the names they dished out at me.

Why should the one who stepped on a millipede cry blue murder even when the millipede has not raised it's voice in protest? For a sympathiser like you, inherently not gifted with a faculty of discernment. Why should I take your insults personally? wink

Just like the germans would say 'Est ist ein Ziel' meaning this is just the beginning. cheesy
Please @ all don't let this escalates than this.....be it NCE,BSC/ED, i think all what we are all claiming to be is that we are intellectuals so please let's us behaving like un cultured people please I beg everyone in the name of God.

@manjuninho. You made a mistake with the word bolded. There is no word like opportuned. There is a word "opportune". It is an adjective and not a verb. So, you cannot make an adjective from a verb that does not exist. It is better to say "...just because you had the opportunity to attend university doesn't make you more intelligent or brilliant than someone who did not have the opportunity."
Thanks for the correction.

Talk is cheap, if not you wouldn't dare say graduates can't defend their certificates. If there are graduates that can't, then, that number would be inconsequential compared to a whole lotta NCE 'waka abouts'.

Besides, you could tell us in what way you've impacted in the field of education with your 'golden' NCE. Or is it not the same you that couldn't pass POST-UTME before ending up in a college? Abegi!
You really make me laugh because I now understand where you are coming from;
So u think everybody that went to college of education went there just because they couldn't pass post utme?
Let me use myself as a case study...I never failed post utme for once and I was even given admission to study law only to step down due to finance, I later tried unilag and I scored above the stipulated cut off mark only to be denied admission for whatsoever reason, I scored the highest mark in Uniosun post utme in 2011 though I was a student in the college of education then only for them to tell me that my name was not sent to jamb for whatsoever reason.
So u can now see that you been a university graduate does not make a super human u were just privilege nd opportuned as many who are intellectually sound more than you are not privilege aand that does not make them less human.

ravensckar:
So? huh

It's their NCE certificate that got them to where they are abi? Little wonder why Bsc holders bully most NCE holders. You people's argument most times reeks ignorance & sentiment.

One person above was saying 'The best graduating lawyers are not often the best practising lawyers' smh! How does that correlate with the subject matter? He will even fault his own argument on account of using a wrong analogy(Simple PHYL 101).

So the likes of Afe Babalola, Akinjide, Akin Olujimi, Rotimi Akeredolu, etc all graduated with pass abi? Smh!

Or you want to tell me Rotimi Williams (Timi the law), Adetokumbo Ademola, Itse Sagay, amongst others are third class product? You'll soon wake up from your slumber.

Again, that Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa became a prime minister with his grade 2 abi na TC 2 doesn't even add any logic to the argument. Hian?

Again, one was asking the challenger to name anybody who has been employed as a teacher in a big school before he'll accept her claims. See, some of us just don't fancy this show of discrimination. I, as a person, I've taught in big schools. Yet, I'm not a graduate of education. Infact, teaching in big schools entails how much you know and in what measure you can impact. That's why you hardly find NCE graduates in big schools.
Thanks for your contribution sir but in as much as u negate my opinion all I see is you validating it,
If Prof Disu is not an Education certificate holder, do you think he can be appointed to that post?
And for your information there are a lot of NCE holder in big school only that majority of them hav e upgraded their qualifications.
Finally, I want to make bold of saying that been a university graduate does not make an intelligent person, why are many of the so called non educational university graduates not find job in their field?because if you are majority of them when they were still in the university if they would like to teach, all you will hear them say is over their dead body but after getting into the labour market and they sees that they can't compete with their counterparts they take up teaching job and start boasting of knowing more than a person who was trained in the education field.

My humble and final submission on this NCE/BSC dichotomy.

Now you're talking! grin

Now that I have you on the rope, lemme quickly finish you off while I await the next NCE vain-braggart. I've friends who are also members of this forum that teach in big schools like Caleb, Greenspring, Corona, Newhall at lekki. They didn't even study anything relating to education.

PS: They may not want to confirm my claims so as not to give full vent to this controversial issue. But trust me, big schools employ Bsc graduates so long as he is sound academically.
If its true they should be able to confirm it and I will gladly accept it but failure to do so simply means none of such exists.
Don't get things twisted sis, there is a big difference between been intelligent or let me use your word been sound academically and been able to pass it unto others which is the aim of education.

Best graduating lawyers mostly are not always the best practising lawyers.

Please I won't want us to start insulting ourselves just to drive home our points, everyone is entitled to his/her opinions and will also want everyone to know that if wishes were horse beggars would ride. Not everybody that went for NCE wishes not go to the university,to some it was financial constraint not because they are not brilliant so coming here to rubbish a certificate just because you are opportuned to attend a university doesn't make you more intelligent or brilliant than someone who wasn't opportuned.

You can say that again!

College of wah? College of adult teaching abi? First and foremost, permit me to introduce myself properly. I'm a Bsc(edu) graduate, and so I know what I'm talking about...

The first requirement for teaching is acquisition & possession of knowledge. Whatever it is you don't know, you can't teach. Period! While I don't know much of other field, I can categorically tell you that as a Biology Edu graduate, I did courses in Botany dept, Microbiology dept, Biochemistry dept, and Zoology dept. Hence, I touched every aspect of biology. Now, let any NCE graduate that read Biology come out to tell us in which dept he did courses.

I repeat, I've seen undergraduates of colleges of Edu using Essential Biology textbooks as their course material. Believe me or not, it's the truth. Most times I check some of their handouts, Jeez! I can't help but thumb my nose in disgust. What in the Heaven are these? huh huh

And you were talking about what teaching entails right? If you think all those paparazzi Lesson note, classroom management, teaching methodologies are what teaching entails. Then, I'm afraid your own case of ignorance is beyond anyone's help. Hence, I give up on you.

Ever wondered why big schools don't even mention NCE as their condition for employment? Lolz! grin
I don't seem to understand your own definition of big school but in my definition a big school will never employ a BSC holder that is not in EDU or that has previously passed through NCE.
If you differ from that, you can kindly name 1 or 2 big school you know of that employ non educationist as teachers.

I don't wanna join issue, but a course in a degree programme covers like 5 courses in NCE.
If na lie oya state NCE courses and their title make I state degree courses so we can compare....
*wink*
Well, I won't answer that your question but I will like to give you as an assignment yourself.
The school I attended though a College, its also a degree awarding institution of two schools (uniuyo and Eksu) and u know what? We are using same handout nd even some of the courses who @ NCE offers @ 100L is been offered in 300L so I thinh that negates your argument.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by manjuninho(m): 6:11pm On Sep 17, 2015
oneluvs:
Why is people placing SSCE And NCE together because they can never be rank together, it seems those who are saying so did not passed through NCE so they are here making false information. To the brothers and sisters in the house, if you do not passed through something or have somebody that passed through. Don't talk, is even better not to say anything.
Because Degree can never be compared to NCE talk less of SSCE. Though they might use SSCE chemistry, physics, biology as some people claimed here in the forum. But come to think of it why Degree you claim that is superior than NCE is not offering major and minor courses like NCE do. For example if you are NCE holder you have to offer double course, one would be major, and the other minor i.e Computer Science/Integrated Science in Education. Which means you are to do all computer courses as the major, then all integrated science courses as the minor, all education courses and all general courses. When you count the course total credit unit people are offering 27,28,30,32,36 etc. credit unit so tell me which is more superior is it Degree or NCE. This not that am talking for talking sake is from personal experience. When you enrolled in Federal Colleges of education you are to do some special education courses apart from the one I slated above.
If people are saying NCE should rated with SSCE is simply because they did not passed through it, like wise OND. It is Nigeria system of education that made Nigeria teaching educations to be downgraded, Go to other countries they do appreciate what they have, for instance if a white man wanted to employ you and you are OND holder you tend to gain employment than the So called almighty Degree holder.
Can someone please tell me why this is so, it quite simple just because of more practical knowledge. So come to Degree stuff, has some one discover that the NCE holder tend to be First Class holder, than those who enrolled for Degree in 100l. The answer is simple because they are exposed to so many courses during NCE time but Degree courses are fewer i.e at most 5,6,7, and the highest is 8 courses and they feel OK in making the best out of it with out much stress.
Mind you am running my degree now I knew how many courses am doing right compare to NCE time where one has to do 16,18,20 etc courses.
So people who do not value NCE such people do not pass through the system. Let me drop mine pen for update later.
Don't mind majority of them, its not their fault but that of the country where laws are only made without it been adhered to.
Imagine someone who offered not more 9courses in a semester comparing with one who does 16course which is d lowest in NCE.......

And what's so special about NCE that one cannot place it side by side with SSCE? huh

Or is it not the NCE that they use Essential Chemistry, Essential biology textbooks, etc to teach them? Most NCE students I've met are bunch of University-wannabes... The case of NCE holders is analogous to Govt sch teachers that are professionally qualified to teach, but academically, many of them are not in tuned with modernity...

But Bsc holders, just show them the format of that 'yeye' lesson note, they will teach your students beyond your imagination because the stuff is there.

If you're talking of graduates, abeg, never ever mention NCE holders o jere.
That's a big lie, I am a product of College of education and I can say it without fear of contradiction that there is no college of education that teaches with essential textbook. Though majority of NCE graduates were nt opportuned to gain admission into the university but that doesn't make you better than them.
Do u think teaching is all about you been brilliant or intellegent, for your infomation it goes way beyond that and only a person trained in act can know.

I agree because a Professional Accountant and an Accountant can't be paid the same, An Engineer or a COREN certified Engineer can't be compensated equally, same with a teacher that is certified and an uncertified teacher can't be paid equally.
You are so right on point boss.....where I work presently though the pay is not much, the owner pays NCE holder more than the so called BSC holder unless its in EDU but same cannot be said of others schools thereby placing the NCE holders with SSCE holders which is ridiculous

Funny enof is all those people that will give you wahala, you will teach 4 subjects and also enslave you.

Although, it quite difficult with that especially when there is no other substantial document(s) to back your claims. Be that at it may, go around the aforementioned areas and drop your résumé with schools within and around that axis.
The TO WHOM was issued as a stand in document till the original result is released but the industrial action has stalled the facilitation of the certificate.

I will really like to thank those who deem it fit to open this type of thread and those who have made it a point of duty in updating it.
Am a NCE graduate from Osun state COE, studied POL/SOS but due to the strike embarked upon by the staff of the institution I have been unable to get my certificate so all I have is TO WHOM and I have no previous teaching experience except for my teaching practice which experience makes me love teaching so much.
Having said this, can I get a job in a secondary school with TO WHOM? And I won't mind if anybody can help me. I stay around Matogun,Olambe,Akute,Ajuwon and Iju-Ishaga axis.

Thanks

ACN and CPC merged in a principale and invited ANPP.
Okorocha merged in a person not APGA.
APC birthed
THEN
Five governor joined not PDP
Therefore the three certificate retrieved before the APC was formed by ACN, CPC and ANPP no more no less.
That was why no one contested for the presidency under the ACN, CPC and ANPP
Muhammed Buhari represents the APC original...and okoroch (strategic)...but two people from so called nPDP. If there is block that so called nPDP ,how come they did not agree and present one of Atiku or KWAKWASOhuh Indeed the court was right, There was no nPDP ...it is 419! yes, there is: WAMAKKO...... now a senator (has a governor )
Saraki now a Senator...also (has a governor)
Nyanko`s son is a senator .
AMAECHI.....(nothing nothing)
What did Atiku bringhuh? Atiku PFN was declared for GEJ and GMB .....Atiku hosted GEJ during the election...
Hmmmmmm. Now so far these are the posts as shared like either voting like BUHARI popular choice like Osinbajo ,stealing like Saraki ...and voting like Dogora:

Politics15 Reasons Why PMB Declared War Against Mr Nobody by manjuninho(op): 10:54am On Jun 01, 2015
15 REASONS WHY BUHARI DECLARED WAR ON NOBODY:

On the 29th May, 2015, the President of the Giant of Africa Mohammadu Buhari made a special announcement to the world that he belongs to EVERYBODY and he belongs to NOBODY. How lucky and blessed is EVERYBODY and how troubled NOBODY must be by now?

NOBODY must hear this loud and clear before he begins an attempt to make himself EVERYBODY because he is NOBODY. Is this president a fan of NOBODY? Definitely not! But why must the president belong to EVERYBODY and at the same time belong to NOBODY? What has NOBODY done wrong that the president of the giant of Africa despises him so much?

1. NOBODY is ANYBODY who is trying to control EVERYBODY including Mohammadu Buhari.

2. NOBODY is Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, and foreigners who have no respect for EVERYBODY

3. NOBODY is definitely close to Buhari; BUHARI must know who NOBODY is.

4. NOBODY hates EVERYBODY and loves NOBODY but himself.

5. NOBODY has the wealth and influence but EVERYBODY has the number

6.NOBODY steals EVERYBODY’S money and makes EVERYBODY become miserable.

7. NOBODY crashed our economy, crashed our refineries, crashed NEPA, crashed the Airways and crashed the Railways; and loves to crash some more as long as NOBODY is not affected.

8. NOBODY deliberately refuses to pay workers salaries, jacks up fuel prices, drains our foreign reserves, and depletes our domestic savings.

9. NOBODY is a looter, he is lawless and unscrupulous.

10. NOBODY wants to position his own friends in plum positions even if the cronies are round pegs in square holes.

11. NOBODY probably donated to Buhari’s campaign and expects a full-return of his investment.

12. NOBODY probably has a corruption case in court and wants to influence its dismissal.

13. NOBODY knows the havoc he has wreaked on EVERYBODY while in office representing EVERYBODY.

14. NOBODY is an arch-enemy of Nigeria and EVERYBODY; that’s why Buhari has declared war on him.

15. But NOBODY will pay for what he has done to EVERYBODY.

WHO IS DEN MR NOBODYhuh?
