For me it was yet another fine day when something bizarre happened. Early hours of today as at 8.30am . A fulani man in his mid 20's rushed into my office with blood on his clothing begging me to come with him.. i was scared at first but something persuaded me to just follow him.. behold a child probably a couple of years old was lieing on the floor fidgeting and crying.. I tried to communicate with the child but it was ineffective due to the fact he only spoke ibibio.. I could see clearly he had an open cut under his feet and it has been contaminated .. the fulani man begged me to give him medications that would cost only 50 naira because that's all he had.. he told me he has been looking out for the child by giving him100naira daily for his feeding but he couldnt afford to provide shelter since he squats at a friend's place. He told me sometimes whenever he's broke the evening is spent rummaging the large garbage piles on the nearby dump; relentlessly searching for something to fill their aching bellies with, before they surrender to yet another drunken stupor caused by glue. I immediately took him to the lab, he was then tested and appropriate medications were given for free courtesy of my generous boss. He also gave the fulani man 10,000naira to help cater for the child and told him to return every month. I wondered at the irony of life a fulani man taking care of an ibibio child..His starving eyes got stuck at a fortunate kid, almost his age, gulping coke and munching chips in the pharmacy . Probably, he wants a taste of the same. But then who is going to buy him all this That’s the fate he was born with!He died every moment!!! Caught in the vicious circle of poverty and misfortunes, his chance at a normal life was snatched away mercilessly. Hardship killed his every little desire. It was quite obvious that life was a struggle for him. Fighting every moment for his survival, he begged for money or food. Disregarded as a lifeless rascal by the fortunate ones, he was born in a ruined shack and nurtured by poverty. His only sources of entertainment were the used or discarded toys. My heart overflowed with a strange feeling of sympathy for him. I could actually feel his pain. As the darkness of night approaches and the uyo traffic slowly dies down,he joins other homeless kids by udo udoma park .the boys light a fire to stay warm by. Sitting there they voice their unheard dreams; dreams of a good life, of going to school, getting a job and a home – and in their hearts, the silent untold dream of being loved…. But for now their biggest worry is to find a safe place to sleep through yet another dangerous night! Many of us take things for granted. The truth is that we should thank God for making us fortunate enough to live and relish the successes of life. The day breaks and we get into motion. Either trying to meet some chores or just pretending to, everyone seems busy. Even then everything seems so usual and complete, in a way. Life moves at its regular pace for most of us. But, deserts do exist beyond our green pastures. It’s just that they are overlooked by our money-blinded eyes.. its good to give whenever you have the power to ,help whenever the situation requires of it and love unconditionally.

Akinlade12:instead of asking questions that has already been answered ..why not go through the previous pages to read comments.. your want him to share how he wrote his surname , middle name and acct number shebi.. just open the mail and fill it thats all.. if you didn't get it feel free to contact scholastica and pls dont ask me how to contact scholastica because that question too has already been answered in previous pages.. thanks |
belovedaja:5 times sir... my senior colleagues got thier last payment a year post graduation.. and your agbami card expires nov 2018 enabling you to withdraw your last payment without renewing the card |
I am a 2013 awardee .. I got the mail too.. those information is in our scholastica account.. its even a survey site.. I just feel its a means of distraction to furthey delay payment and make you feel like they are doing something anyway someone predicted payment before the week runs out.. lets keep our fingers crossed |
erico2k2:now we are getting somewhere. . "patching".. I love that word.. you need to patch first. . that is how it all started for the first world countries. . ofcus you can increase the budget to 10trillion only when you've covered up the stealing avenues.. thats what we should learn first and not to increase money for those thiefs.. if we had used our resources (1.4 trillion in the past 10 years) there wouldn't be a cause for alarm now. |
Chevronstaff:oga make your research very well.. those countries you mention even tops the world biggest spenders on defence. . |
in a system that is corrupt everyone is corrupt and no one is corrupt.. do nigerians even care to know how our different state budgets are allocated talk more of our L.G.A budget.. when we learn to hold our immediate leaders responsible for the menace in our society then we are ready to make a change.. dont ever think buhari is our problem because your local government chairman is part of the people sponsoring him .. have you asked yourself who rigs elections for these politificians.. its still dose around you.. so open ya eye and stop complaining about a budget you wont even hear about till next year unless something fishy comes up during implementation |
erico2k2:its like pouring water in a leaking drum.. you get nothing out of it.. even if you pour another drum of water into it.. its not wisdom to say they should increase it to 400billion when they've been doing that for the past 10yrs and no change.. I believe they are trying out something so lets just wait and observe.. |
IBBG:you are not even reasoning... I have just explained to you that even if it is 5trillion it wont change anything as money will still be sifoned.. what do you even mean by intellectual leaders?.. what problem has US or UK got that you compare our contry with the third world.. you want a better education system with this underlying corruption or better electricity with this status quo.. you better grow.. if I may ask you ..point out any country in the third world you know and her president that is currently trying to solve a major economic problem like food, electricity, or health. . non..... have you seen Americans comparing trump with obama or bill Clinton. . you better grow up.. nigeria will be on a slow train until our major problem corruption is out and then you will understand that 97billion is enough to make a change |
IBBG:bros from 2012 to 2015 education has been allocated over 400b yearly.. wat was the improvement.. you want them to make it 1trillion.. what is wrong with nigerians sef.. why are we even talking as if you've seen anyone in NASS complaining.. lets just observe.. criticise when necessary and applaud when deserved.. |
Bleeze2:thanks man.. keep up with the update. . something positive will turn up soon |
lol.. its now before the week runs out..
let me start preparing my own date |
drop dates oh.. thats the only thing that gives hope sha |
Saimeritus:all these dates are not helping matters.. if you are sure please indicate your source and moreover that day is a Thursday. .so why Thursday of all days |
