Christianity EtcRe: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Marchman: 3:48pm On Oct 08, 2015
@Joe, you didn't point me to the Bible. You pointed me to your understanding of it which is the health and wealth model. That is not the universal understanding of the bible. Deal with the issues I raised, dont dodge them with style
Christianity EtcRe: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Marchman:
If Joe's principle were to be true, the early Christians would have been very, very rich. But history recorded that most of them died poor and were persecuted. Paul was an artisan who made nets and relied on gifts to survive. Surely this principle should have made him very rich. But Joe would tell you that revelation is progressive and that's why such knowledge is common now.

Secondly if Joe's principles work, like 2 plus 2 makes 4, then you don't need to save. You just give out your money and you receive huge sums in return. But no organization saves like the church. Then you try telling that to the church when you need help about how giving is good. They will tell you the church is not a charitable organization. Surely that principle should work for them too?

The Joe's principle is sweet when you are at the receiving end, like the church.

This is really surprising coming from Pastor Chris cos ive not a seen a more money loving and grabbing church than Christ Embassy which has commercialised every aspect of the gospel. Everything in the church is paid for. Nothing is given free. If that is not love for money I wonder what is.

Then there is a giving which is greater than Joagbaje'' socalled principle. it is giving in love with no expectations of what you get in return. Christ exemplified this by giving his life. That is what the Good Samaritans did too. In all of Christ message that is what he taught. Today it is different with the socalled prosperity gospel. Avery selfish and self serving religion that is all about you and your prosperity.

And Mr. Agbaje, i know of many people in your church who have followed your principle and are very broke because of it. very broke.

You are back. Good to see you again.

Very good message. It make me recall what Jesus told the people about the Pharisees: Do what they say, and not what they do.
PoliticsEl-rufai Lied Abt Independence Anniversary Spndngs, Jonathan’s Minister Retorts by Marchman(op): 4:25pm On Oct 04, 2015
The allegation by governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai that the administration of former president Goodluck Jonathan spent N64billion in five years to mark the nation’s independence anniversaries has been described as another tissue of lies from him.

A statement on Sunday by the immediate past Minister and Deputy Chairman, National Planning Dr. Abubakar Sulaiman said perhaps former president Olusegun Obasanjo was right in his assessment of el-rufai when he said in his latest memoir, My Watch that his vivid recollection of him (el rufai) is his penchant for lying, for unfair embellishment of stories and his inability to sustain loyalty for long. “That exactly is what el-rufai has done with his ungodly fabrication of lies against Jonathan government.”

The governor had alleged on a facebook post that N13billion was spent in 2011, N15billion in 2012 and N14billion in 2013 and N22billion allegedly spent in 2014.

Putting a lie to the allegation the former National Planning Minister said only N332.6million was spent on the anniversaries between 2012 and 2014.

He challenged the Office of the Government of the Federation (OSGF) to publish these details for the consumption of the public.

He said: “for the record, a breakdown of our spending for this event between 2012 and 2104 goes thus; 2012-107.6million; 2013-45million and 2014 had 180million. So, the question here is where did the billions as claimed by el-rufai emanate from? Even though that of 2010 and 2011 are not handy now, but it should be known that they all fall within the same bracket as the one stated, except that the 2010 anniversary was a golden one when the country marked her 50 year of independence. But even then, not such outrageous sum was either budgeted or expended.

“Again, it is germane to explain the increase in the 2013 anniversary spending for the purpose of accountability.
The National Honours Award Investiture was incorporated into the celebration, thus making it two events in one, hence the N174, 800,000.00 budget. We also want to add that the said award investiture could not hold in 2013 and the approved budget rolled over and was utilized to organise the investiture in 2014.”

He said he has taken the pain to respond to El-Rufai though ordinarily, “we would have allowed this to go as just ranting of a favour seeker, but for the sake of ordinary Nigerians who were abreast of happenings under the administration and also those who never did, we will like to set the record straight.

“It is important to correct the misinformation so that the unsuspecting public would not be misled.”

He warned government functionaries especially in the present administration to desist from abusing their immunity and destruction of history by trading on lies just to gain cheap popularity or curry one favour or the other from certain quarters.

He also urged President Muhammadu Buhari to be cautious against being misled by the likes of el-Rufai who are hell bent on misinforming the Nigerian public.

PoliticsDSS Officials Strip Dismissed Female Cadets Naked, To Face Probe By Senate by Marchman(op): 8:10pm On Sep 13, 2015
The Department of State Services (DSS)will be long appear before the Senate over degrading and inhuman treatment it meted to 60 cadets undergoing training, which it dismissed last week.

Nigerian Times checks reveal that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) is also set to look into circumstances surrounding the dismissal of the cadets, who had been employed by the DSS and have been in training since December 2014.

The 60 cadets, who had been in training for nine months at the DSS Academy in Lagos, were part of Cadet Officers Basic Course 28 of 2014 codenamed COBC28/2014. They had one month to go on their training when they were summarily dismissed last week.

The letter of their dismissal dated September 4, 2014 and signed on behalf of the DSS Director General, Lawal Daura by one GK Mohammed, read:

“I am directed to inform you that the Director General, State Services (DGSS) has approved the termination of your appointment from Service with immediate effect. You are, however, required to hand over all Government property in your possession, including your Study Guide/Note Books to the Director of Studies, State Services Academy (SSA), Lagos, and obtain appropriate clearance before your final exit, please.”

Surprised and feeling shortchanged by the sudden and inexplicable decision of the leadership of the DSS, the dismissed cadets have petitioned the Senate and the NHRC seeking justice.

In the petition written on their behalf by their lawyer, Mr. Clarence Yakubu, they are alleging gross violation of their rights and human dignity as a result of the degrading and inhuman treatment they received at the hands of DSS officers before they were handed their letters of dismissal.

In the petition written to the two bodies, the cadets alleged that before collecting their letters of dismissal, the cadets were asked to report at a hall where some ladies among them were later asked by officials to take of their clothes and underwear as part of the search they were subjected to before being handed their letters.

The petition by the dismissed cadet who were among the 420 that had been undergoing training since last year, read in part:

“On Wednesday 9th of September 2015 at exactly1.00pm, a team from the National Headquarters of State Services, Abuja, came and about sixty of us were called out of the VIP Protection Practical and asked to march to the multi-purpose hall for further directives. We were asked to present our original credentials for screening.

“On Thursday the following day, all the female cadets were asked to jog to the multi-purpose hall for physical screening from there we were asked to move to tattoo ground.

“On getting there we were asked to remove our cloths completely for them to check if we have tattoo on our body. One senior officer threatened us to open our private parts and raise our hands up for them to check for the tattoo. One Muslim Lady refused to remove her pant that it was against her religion.

“After that, dismissal letters were given to us we were asked to leave the academy immediately under the rainon Friday.

The sixty of us were called out again to march to our hostels to pack our belongings.

“After few minutes later, the security guards came and hurried us out of the hostel under the heavy downpour, marched us to the gym, from there all our lecture materials and the leadership training certificate issued to us were collected from us.

“We wonder why we were so humiliated before we were asked out of a training that we had only one month left, even when the children of a past Director-General three serving directors who are also cadets were left untouched.”

No reason has been given by the DSS for the dismissal of the cadets but followers of the activities of the DSS in the last few weeks believe it could be of the determination of the Buhari administration to cleanse the service of individuals believed to be loyalists of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Two weeks ago, the new DSS DG had dismissed the service’s former spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, former Chief Security Officer to former President Jonathan, Gordon Obua and over forty others. One of the charges against Ogar was that she was blindly partisan in discharging her duties under the Jonathan administration.

Some of the dismissed officers have however vowed to challenge their dismissal in court

PoliticsAppointments of SGF, Customs And Immigrations Bosses: Buhari’s Costly Gamble by Marchman(op): 7:42pm On Aug 27, 2015
ANALYSIS
After months of speculation and anxiety, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally appointed a Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Against general expectation, President Buhari turned to the Northeast of the country for the man who would help organize and coordinate the activities of his government. That man is Babachir David Lawal, former National Vice-Chairman of the President’s Party, the All progressives Congress (APC).
The appointment of Lawal will come as a huge blow to the leadership of the APC and Nigerians in general who had expected that in the interest of inclusiveness and furtherance of the Federal Character principle that the appointment would go to the Southeast part of the country. Indeed, the names of two APC leading lights from the region-Ogbonnaya Onu, former national chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and one of the driving forces behind the formation of the APC, and Chris Ngige, a former Governor of Anambra State, had come up repeatedly in the calculations of both pundits and party members. They held that the appointment of one of these two individuals would help reassure the people of the Southeast that despite not having voted massively for him, President Buhari would take care of their interests.
Those expectations were dashed Thursday with the appointment of Lawal and have further fired speculations that President Buhari was pursuing a northern agenda. This argument had gained momentum with previous appointments by the President, which had seen northerners heading key national institutions and agencies like INEC and the DSS. Lawal’s appointment on Thursday as well as the appointments of northerners to head other strategic agencies and institutions of government like the Customs (Col. Hameed Ali rtd), Kure Martin Abeshi( Immigration) and Abba Kyari ( Chief of Staff to the president), will further alienate Nigerians particularly in the southern parts of the country who believe the president’s concentration of key government appointments in one part of the country will further stoke ethnic divisions in the country.
Lawal, the new SGF himself is seen as a reckless politician with a tendency to make wild and unsubstantiated allegations. For instance in 2014 he accused former President Goodluck Jonathan of unleashing Boko Haram on the northeast of Nigeria in order to prepare grounds for his party’s takeover of the region during elections noting that, ‘If Jonathan returns in 2015, every northerner will have to be crawling to survive’.
It is clear that what Nigeria needs at this time are individuals with administrative acumen, integrity and maturity to held salve mental and emotional wounds inflicted on this nation by the near sanguinary electioneering that preceded the change of government on May 29. Whilst the new SGF’s competence and integrity are not being called to question, his penchant for reckless and unguarded comments may not only create problems for the Buhari administration but may more importantly exacerbate the tensions that already exist among Nigeria’s disparate ethnic and social groups.
Overall, president Buhari as the father of the nation should in the interest of promotion of ethnic and religious harmony seek to expand the scope of his appointment to broadly reflect national character.

SportsA League Is Reborn! by Marchman(op): 3:45pm On Aug 19, 2015
A League is Reborn!

Julius Ogunro

A real change is happening in Nigerian football. The stadiums are getting packed out by excited fans and the rivalry amongst local teams which had grown cold over the past decades is warming up. Now the fans appear to have taken ownership of the games, and are excited about the outcome of matches, whether Sooting beat Rangers, almost as much they are in Arsenal vs Chelsea. League football is re-born!

This shouldn’t really be news. Football is the most popular sport in the world with large following across all continents. But until recently you wouldn’t know this is the case as it relates to the Nigerian league. Games of the premier league were played in virtually empty stadiums and make little impact even in the communities where the stadiums were located.

Nobody appeared to care if Kano Pillars beat Heartland 10:0, or if Enyimba was playing at home or overseas. It didn’t make any difference. If it was not European football, count Nigerians out. There was no buzz, no chatter about local players or teams, and this led to an exodus of players overseas, to less fancy leagues in India, Malta and even Sudan. Apparently anywhere else but Nigeria.

That was not the case in the 80s, a decade of local football and a time when Nigerians religiously stuck to the radio for information on the local teams and footballers who were major celebrities at that time. It was the decade of Segun Odegbami, Emmanuel Okala, Muda Lawal, Christian Chukwu and Baba Otu Mohammed; a period of fond memories: of great dribbles, great shots and great goals!
Gradually the glamour associated with the local league faded away.

In time, the teams and players appeared to be invisible and nothing they did seemed to matter. It did not help that most of the games were lacklustre as the quality of the teams were poor. A number of factors were responsible for this depression in domestic football: downturn in the economy, government take-over of clubs, poor officiating and corruption, the rise of European football and its exposure on cable TV, and others.

But things are changing. The fans are coming back, the quality of the games has improved significantly, and so have officiating and management of the league. The single most important factor for this positive development is the League Management Company (LMC), the body that was initiated by the former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, and which now manages the Premier League.
The body that was in charge of the management of the premier league before the LMC was called the Nigeria Premier League (NPL). It was a hopeless body, which had no motivation or clue on how to deal with the various challenges affecting professional football in the country. The body was riven with corruption too. Several team mangers personally complained to me about how the NPL short-changed their teams by influencing referees.

Besides the corruption and incompetence of its leadership, the structure of that body also hampered good performance. The NPL was in theory an association of club owners and one of whom was elected chairman with the responsibility of managing the league as its CEO. In practice, this unorthodox and old-fashioned way of running professional football was deeply flawed as the so-called chairman was also a participant in the league as a club owner with keen interest in the outcome of matches. He wielded too much power and with no institution empowered to checkmate him; this was greatly abused by the former Chairman who carried on like a demi-god with no accountability. The consequences were grave and resulted in a league which lacked integrity with fans, sponsors and other stakeholders.

Because of the excessive powers of the NPL Chairman and lucre associated with the post, the election into that office was always controversial. As at the time Abdullahi was appointed in December 2011 in an acting capacity, the crises over the last election had dragged on for years between Messrs Victor Rumson Baribote and Davidson Owumi, who refused to see reason or put the interest of the league above their personal considerations but rather engaged in litigation and media wars which further damaged the premier league brand.

Abdullahi’s efforts to resolve their differences did not yield much result. It was at that time the idea of a new league body was born. His plan was a premier league built in the mould of the Barclays Premier League of England which was inarguably the most valuable football brand in the world and definitely the most watched. He also however understood the limitations of his powers. Sport is one area where the Minister does not have much executive power, only powers of persuasion.

The federations come cap in hand to ask for funds from the government but if you try to interfere in their processes, would insist they were independent and autonomous and show you statutes of their global bodies to prove this. The minister could therefore not just dissolve the corrupt and incompetent NPL Board. It required more tact and wisdom. Abdullahi eventually achieved that goal through the board members who were disenchanted with the leadership and an interim body led by Hon. Nduka Irabor was set up.

Irabor built the foundation of the LMC, resolving most of the crises that had plagued the previous football body. A company (League Management Company) was registered by the interim body with the mandate of running the league in line with best football practices. The club owners, sports ministry and NFF are the shareholders in the company.

Shehu Dikko, the new LMC helmsman has upped the ante, attracting more funding in terms of title and broadcast sponsorships. Players get more pay now through the harmonised salary scale pushed by the LMC, even as clubs earn a minimum of N55million as participation fee in the league. Private sector participation in terms of club ownership and sponsorships has improved significantly, even as security at match venues and overall welfare of players. But more noteworthy is the integrity of the matches; no one can easily predict outcome of matches merely by which team is playing at home.

All of which has delighted the fans who are trooping back to stadiums, adrenaline pumped up shouting Up Enyimba! or whatever local team they support. Change is indeed possible; at least in football we can feel it!

Ogunro, a media and communications consultant, was special assistant to the former Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi

Exclusive: How Buhari Traded NNPC GMD Position for Campaign Funding

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved the appointment of Executive Vice Chairman of ExxonMobil Africa, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, as Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

This however did not come without some high level political horse trading that puts President Buhari’s celebrated integrity at stake, the Nigerian Times investigation can reliably reveal.

Nigerian Times can disclose that Kachikwu who has before the dissolution of the board of the NNPC been behind most of the administration’s directives in the oil and gas sector is the candidate of the biggest private players in the sector; the unabashed controllers of Nigeria’s hydro-carbon destiny.

Kachikwu was introduced to Buhari by a group of oil block owners that comprise of former President Ibrahim Babangida, his side kick business magnate, Nuel Ojei and Gen Theophilus Danjuma (rtd) before the elections. It wasn’t their first try.

Around 2013, the triumvirate met with then President Goodluck Jonathan and made him a proposal: accept Dr Kachikwu as Petroleum Minister in place of Deziani Alison-Madueke and they would back him maximally in the 2015 elections. The negotiations dragged on and finally collapsed when President Jonathan called it off.

Then as the 2015 elections loomed and Buhari’s campaign had to contend with serious financial constraints, he turned to Gen. T. Y. Danjuma for help. Danjuma invited his friends, Babangida and Nuel Ojei for a meeting where a decision was taken to present their botched plan with Jonathan to Buhari.

Buhari accepted to give them the position of the petroleum minister as a reward for their funding. Thereafter billions of Naira flowed into the Buhari campaign. Indeed the group also contributed to the Jonathan campaign.

After Buhari’s inauguration, the triumvirate met him with their candidate in attendance. Sources abreast of the negotiations told the Nigerian Times that Buhari announced to the group a slight change in the plan. According to the source, he told them that a group he referred to as “my people” would not agree to cede the position to them as originally planned.

Danjuma was left fuming and was said to have challenged Buhari to be the man he claims to be by keeping to the original agreement. The President offered the GMD’s position which was flatly rejected. To juice up his offer, he promised both the GMD and minister of state, petroleum. Danjuma was said to have pointed out the sheer clumsiness of the proposal. That was the point IBB took over a mediatory role. It was not clear at press time if the additional offer of minister of state, petroleum was still on the table.

Kachikwu, a respected operator in the industry owes his rise in the industry to his beautiful mind and an array of godfathers in the industry. Nuel Ojei is the Delta State born oil industry player who came into untold riches when IBB was president. Even though, Buhari has repeatedly restated his readiness to fight vested interest, the latest appointment simply goes to show how those interests could easily overwhelm.

Kachikwu hails from Onicha-Ugbo in Delta State and a First Class Graduate of Law from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and the Nigerian Law School.

The new NNPC Chief Executive also has Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Law from Harvard Law School.

PoliticsExclusive: Rotimi Amaechi's wife In A Multi-billion Naira Corruption Scandal by Marchman(op): 5:14pm On Jul 19, 2015
Judith Amaechi, the shrewish wife of Rotimi Amaechi, the immediate past governor of Rivers State has been indicted in a multi-billion naira corruption scandal, Nigerian Times can reveal.

As President Muhammadu Buhari heads to Washington to beg the Americans to help out with his much vaunted anti-corruption war, insiders are cringing at the composition of his delegation. Rotimi Amaechi was personally selected by the president. Nigerian Times’ checks at the villa showed that the president may not be aware of the existence of the dossier but the Americans know and may not take Buhari’s anti-corruption paean seriously.Amaechi - Buhari

Nigerian Times learnt in the weekend that the dossier itself is less than sixty days old. As the story goes, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had received a petition sometime in February this year. The petition detailed the various financial dealings of Mrs Amaechi and how aided by her husband, she had looted the Rivers State treasury of billions of naira.

EFCC’s Findings

Her dealings are centered on three bank accounts with a Port Harcourt branch of First Bank. The accounts in the name of Rajol Jireh Nig. Ltd, El-Madon Fellowship, and Empowerment Support Initiative. The first is her company; she is the biggest shareholder and sole-signatory to its accounts with her photo id. El- Madon Fellowship, is a prayer group she started when her husband was on the run for his life as he lost the gubernatorial ticket in the run up to the 2007 general elections. As soon as the Supreme Court installed her husband in office, she moved the prayer group to the state house and got it registered and emerged its sole signatory with photograph submitted to the bank. The last is her pet project as first lady.

The EFCC’s investigation found the transactions on the following accounts mind-boggling. Some of the accounts are denominated in Naira, while others are in Dollars. But one common factor of all the accounts is that they contain huge sums, which were only accessible to the former first lady of Rivers State.

The Accounts Include:

ESI – 4344020003193, a fixed deposit account
El-Madon Fellowship -4344020002981, another fixed deposit account,
Rajol Jireh Nig Ltd- 43440200031162, the main account
Rajol Jireh NIG ltd 2010701975 Naira; 4344030000125, a dollar fixed deposit account, and 2024239051 Naira fixed deposit account
Staffers of First Bank are not allowed to view these accounts, as they are passworded. The EFCC found that over eight billion naira passed through these accounts since they were opened in late 2008.

Some of the looted funds are invested in properties in Nigeria.

Nigerian Times learnt from a government house source familiar with the transactions that Mrs Amaechi’s method of transferring money abroad was akin to a bonanza. The bankers are encouraged to look for anyone with about a million dollars. He or she is then made a proposition: wire a million dollars to an account abroad and the naira equivalent plus an irresistible bonus is negotiated. So once the money hits the agreed account abroad, the naira equivalent and the agreed bonus leaves any of the First Bank accounts to another commercial bank in Port Harcourt, then it hits the accomplice’s account.

A source told of an unforgettable week back in 2009 when five staff of the bank were pulled off their desks to sort cash for Mrs Amaechi. It wasn’t as thought they were counting but were just pilling the bundles and they never got to the bottom of the cash until Sunday afternoon. They started out on Thursday.

PoliticsExclusive: Bakare Rejects Buhari’s Apppointment Offer As Chief Of Staff by Marchman(op): 3:38pm On Jun 29, 2015
Leading political activist and preacher, Pastor Tunde Bakare has turned down an offer by President Muhammadu Buhari to be his Chief of Staff, Nigerian Times can authoritatively report.

Nigerian Times exclusively gathered that the pastor, who was President Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 presidential election which they lost, rejected the offer because of the belief that his inability to speak the Hausa language would impede his performance at the job.

Our highly placed source at the presidential Villa, who pleaded anonymity because he was not permitted to disclose such sensitive information, stated that Pastor Bakare insisted he would not take the job because of the penchant of Buhari and his closest associates to revert to the Hausa Language when discussing important national issues even in the presence of non-speakers of the language.

Our source said Buhari was surprised by the response from Bakare and was unable to convince him to take the job. Though both men have not fallen out because of Bakare’s refusal to take up the offer, “the pastor thinks that the president’s inner circle may be insular but Bakare and the President still speak from time to time,” said the source.

Buhari chose Bakare as his running mate in the 2011 presidential election and both men campaigned vigorously across the country on the platform of the now defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). They lost the election to the PDP candidates of President Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo who served as his vice.

Several critics have hit the Buhari government hard for what they regard as the slow pace of governance. Over one month after he took over the reins of government and two months after winning the Presidential election, the President has failed to form a cabinet and employ key staff. This has reportedly slowed down the process of governance and many analysts now wonder if the President was ready for primetime leadership.

Although the 7th Senate led by Senator David Mark approved 15 Special Advisers for President Buhari, he is yet to name anyone or assign key portfolios.

President Buhari has however explained that his slowness to form a cabinet was deliberate and was because he wanted to study the report of his transition committee which was chaired by Ahmed Joda, a former Permanent Secretary.

“I don’t know why people are so anxious about ministers. But eventually we will have (them). But the main reason is that I have an interim committee which I agreed with the former President Jonathan that the ministers of the outgoing government should hand over their notes or their documents to this interim committee so that a position can be prepared for the new government to start from with clear records from ministers,” Buhari said.

The committee’s report was submitted about three weeks back.

My advice to you is to judge with the evidence of your own life. Has paying of tithe been really beneficial to you? Has it made you special and has blessed you financially?

For me it appears that theonly person benefiting from the tithe scam is the pastor. I know too many people who are broke and lack jobs eventhough they are faithful tithers. They have done their own part of the bargain, the question is why is God not fulfilling his own part by providing endless financial resources to them? Tithing is lie. If you start doing well now, they will say its because of your tithe. It is a lie.

Both those who are for and against the belief of once saved and always saved are right, using selective scriptures to back up their points. This leaves me a little bit confused. The bible seems to be contradictory in some cases and this explains why there is no uniformity of beliefs in Christianity.

Buhari Was Asleep When Saraki Emerged Senate President – Fayemi’s Aide Confirms

By Yemi Adebowale

A Personal Assistant to Kayode Fayemi, the former Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Oluwaseun Odewale has confirmed reports by BREAKING TIMES on Wednesday that President Buhari was asleep when Senator Bukola Saraki was elected President of the Senate.

President Muhammadu Buhari was absent at a meeting he scheduled with APC Senators on Tuesday morning by 9am.

BREAKING TIMES reported on Wednesday that the meeting, which was to hold at the International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja failed as President Buhari, slept off upon his arrival in Nigeria early on Tuesday morning from the G7 Summit in Germany.

Responding to reactions in the social media on Wednesday over the report by BREAKING TIMES, Mr. Odewale said President Buhari was sleeping as a result of fatigue from the 7 hour trip from Munich to Abuja.

@LadyMacbethh89 @mr_ochonogor Yes, he was sleeping cos that’s what you do when you do a 7hrs long flight from Munich to Abuja.

— Egghead Odewale (@eggheader) June 10, 2015

Kayode Fayemi was Director of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Organisation’s policy team and the strategist who organised the widely praised primary elections that crowned Buhari as presidential candidate in December 2014. He is also reportedly being vetted for the position of Chief of Staff to President Buhari.

A source within the Presidency had disclosed to BREAKING TIMES Wednesday that travel fatigue prevented President Buhari from keeping his appointment with the APC Senators. “The President landed that morning and slept through till the time he gave the Senators for the meeting. At the time word could reach the President to remind him of the 9am appointment he gave to the APC Senators, Saraki was already Senate President. He is the one who gave the 9am appointment, so if anyone is telling you something else, it is a lie. The Preisdent slept off”, the source disclosed.

Crisis broke at the venue of the meeting as some lawmakers who were waiting for the President became agitated and confused when information got to them that Saraki had emerged the Senate President. They however rushed out of the ICC, heading to the National Assembly.

Bukola Saraki was elected Senate President while some of his colleagues were still waiting to have a meeting with President Buhari at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja.

The Presidency is yet to issue a statement on why he was absent from the Tuesday’s meeting.

Senegalese Marabouts Stall Buhari’s Entry into Aso Rock

Fresh indications emerged on Monday on the real reasons President Muhammadu Buhari is yet to officially move into the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.

According to a Villa source who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on Monday on condition of anonymity, President Buhari will not take residence at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa until the necessary “spiritual cleansing” has been carried out at the Villa by a team of Senegalese Marabouts.

“The Senegalese Marabouts engaged to carry out the cleansing of the Villa before Buhari moves in are yet to arrive. It is not immediately clear why they have not arrived. But I can authoritatively tell you that the President will move in to the Villa once the cleansing is done”, the source said.

The source debunked claims by Presidential Spokesman Garba Shehu that the President was yet to move in as a result of ongoing renovation work. “It’s a blatant lie. The Villa has been renovated and completed even before President Jonathan left office. So what is he saying? The Villa, without renovation is in good enough shape for any President to function. The renovation was only carried out as a routine requirement for the new President”, the source disclosed.

Since his inauguration as President on May 29, 2015, President Buhari has been operating officially from the Defence House, Maitama and sleeps in one of his private residences in Aso Drive, Abuja. This has drawn complaints from several Presidential Villa staff who say Buhari’s refusal to move into Aso Rock is slowing down the business of governance.

During the regime of the late Nigerian Head of State, General Sani Abacha, it was common practice for Marabouts flown in from Mali and Senegal to perform spiritual cleansings in Aso Rock. A similar practice was witnessed during the administration of the late President Umar Musa Yar’Adua. In spite of these heavy spiritual fortifications, General Abacha died on June 8, 1998 after a suspected case of alleged poisoning at the Defence House, Maitama, where President Buhari currently uses as his official headquarters. President Yar’ Adua died on May 5, 2010 while serving his term in office as President.

On his part, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has also stalled plans to move into his Aguda House official residence at the Presidential Villa as a sign of respect for his principal. The Vice President has also been constricted to functioning from a private residence in Abuja.

It is not clear how long the current situation will last. A state house correspondent told TheCable on Friday that it could take another two weeks.

President Muhammadu Buhari owns the sprawling Asokoro lakeside mansion located at number 9, Udo Udoma Street, Asokoro, Abuja, BREAKING TIMES can authoritatively report.

Investigations by our reporter on Wednesday unveiled President Muhammadu Buhari’s hidden property situated at a choice location in Asokoro beside an exotic lake few yards away from the Aso Rock Presidential Villa fence.

Since his inauguration on Friday May 29, heavy security presence has been deployed around the area surrounding the property. BREAKING TIMES reporters at the risk of their lives managed to take photographs of the sprawling triple-duplex property on Wednesday.

Professional estate surveyors have valued the land on which the property sits at approximately N1.2 billion. Each of the three duplexes is valued at N300 million and this, when added to the cost of the land is approximately N2.1 billion. Also, rent from tenants on each of the three duplexes is estimated at N6 million per annum.

President Buhari’s Asokoro property has been home to a former High Commissioner of an African country to Nigeria. The family of the late Special Adviser on Strategy and Documentation to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Oronto Douglas, are tenants at the Buhari Asokoro property, a source who pleaded anonymity disclosed to BREAKING TIMES.

The discovery of the Buhari Asokoro mansion may have cast another huge credibility question on the modest and anti-corruption credentials that got him elected on March 28, 2015.

It will be recalled that BREAKING TIMES on Monday exposed details of how the new First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari wore a Cartier Baignoire Folle 18-Carat White Gold Diamond Ladies Watch that cost £34,500 (N10, 453, 000) to the presidential inauguration on May 29, 2015.

Buhari played up his modest background while on the campaign trail, claiming he was a pastoral farmer with 150 cows who could barely afford to pay for his presidential nomination form. More than 50 percent of Nigerians live below the international poverty line of $1.25 per day, according to the United Nations.

In January 2015, BREAKING TIMES uncovered the expensive lifestyle of Zahra, the fifth daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, an undergraduate of the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

The exposure of Buhari’s hidden assets is coming at a time Nigerians have intensified calls for the new President and Vice-President to publicly declare their assets as they promised to do during the presidential campaign.

Buhari was appointed Chairman of Nigeria’s Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) during the regime of Nigeria’s late dictator, General Sani Abacha – a period in Nigeria’s oil revenue expenditure that has never come under any serious probe or enquiry. The sum of N25 billion allegedly disappeared from the public treasury at the time.

Buhari’s wife didn’t shut down her Abuja Spa (see pics)

Contrary to a recent report that the First Lady has closed down her spa to take up her new role as Nigeria’s First Lady, her beauty parlour, Hanzy Spa in Wuse 2 is still fully functional.

A visit to the Spa by Nigerian Times on Tuesday unveiled the fact that the beauty parlour still functions as always.

Reports said her Kaduna Spa was shut down but failed to mention anything about its branch at No 17 Libreville, Off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.

The report said: “The First Lady, until recently owned one of the biggest spas and beauty institutes in the country.

“However, since the victory of her husband in March and his eventually swearing-in in Abuja, Aisha has since closed down the beauty parlour to take up the new role of Nigeria’s First Lady. The spa and beauty institute patronised by individuals across class, was sighted close to the private residence of the immediate past Vice President, Namadi Sambo. The institute was consulted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company to help train individuals under its Youth Empowerment and Skill Acquisition Programme.

As a trained esthetician, Aisha who obtained a diploma in Beauty Therapy from the Carlton Institute of Beauty Therapy, Windsor, United Kingdom and a certificate course from the French Beauty School, Esthetique Academie Dubai, she is a member of the United Kingdom’s Vocational Training and Charitable Trust and the International Health and Beauty Council.
