I got denied for the following reasons, current employment situation and purpose of visit. So now I have prepared a new application. I have the following documents : admission letter,high school transcripts,waec ID card,waec result,computer school certificate,birth certificate, police report,proof of employment letter , work I'D card,statement of purpose,letter of sponsorship,affidavit of sponsorship, my affivadivit of declaration and gap years, statement for purpose of sponsorship from my uncle,letter of incorporation,statement of account(inflow of 568mil), balance Is 37million, consent letter from my mother. Undergraduate study. All the letters from my uncle (sponsor) was written on his company letterhead. the consent letter from my mom was written on her company letterhead

To me, SOP/LOE conveys same message depending on the one u adopt, previously i used SOP but changed to LOE, go to page 0 of this thread u will see sample of SOP, or attach means i can paste the step for you, coz it is too long.

How will you then prepare a better application if you do not actually know what went wrong? Guess? The best you will do for yourself is to get ur GCMS file. 40 days is the maximum period by canadian law to supply the file to applicant. Most times, it comes out from the 3rd to the 4th week way before the 40th day. So apply for it now so it starts counting.

ok, I feel a well explained sop would have done it cos the fact u didn't get paid when u worked under ur uncle doesn't stop u from mentioning it in ur sop (just say u worked for ur family business). but let's not be faster than our shadow here, pls order for ur gcsm note for detailed reasons why u were delayed

I would have loved to order for it but 40 days is too much. Am going to prepare a better application and pray harder. I will look into every department of the application and sort it out.

you are quite young for UG studies and still have a fair chance at getting a shot at it but before you try again, I will advise you do this.
First order for your gcms at gcmsnow.com. This will give you the best clue as to what went wrong. Getting this will help you plan for your next application and help you restrategize on how to tackle this refusal.

Also as @abestine admonished, look at how to resolve that issue..

You completed secondary in 2014 which show a gap of 3 years. You have to tackle this gap in your next application

how old are you, wen did u complete secondary and what did u write under employment when filling the forms... Seems the VO wasnt convinced about yur intention. I will advise u to order for gcms note to uncover how the VO looked at your application and what informed his decision to ''delay'' you.

I am 19. 2014 . Not employed. The thing is I actually did work for my uncle,who happens to be my sponsor. But it wasn't official like per say,cus I dint earn a monthly salary,I just get paid sometimes.

I don't understand but I applied by the paper route and didn't link my account online. So I knew those reasons thru the slip that came with my passport

To a large extent, Yes! . With the recent development from the embassy, the issue is really not in the available funds(naira or dollar).Where the wahala lies is that these funds can be sent to canada without any regulation or restrictions especially with the new forex policy.

So in addition to the dollars available, your bank should be able to assure officers that
1.Your tuition can be paid and you can withdraw in cash the equivalent of 10,000CAD for your living expenses or that indeed, the dollars will be exported to you in canada without any issue or limiting regulations whatsoever.

Like one moniker pointed out, If there is way to transfer your tuition and living expense to your student account in canada, it will clear all doubts about availability of funds for your study for the first year. If you can't, you have to do the extra to convince them.

@austinpee please I want you to guide me on my visa application,this will be my second application. I'll be going to get my passport on Monday so I will know the reason I got denied so we can work on it. But the first reason I know for sure I was denied is my SOP. so please we can start working on it now Bro
