TV/MoviesRe: The Real Problem With Nollywood by mardan(f): 2:06pm On Jan 13, 2007
hi
just wanted to add my two cents, i have recently started watching nollywood movies[almost a year now] . i have only one original copy in a collection of 178 titles [bootleg is the order of the day]. i buy them when i travel to new york or off the internet ,  i see where you are all coming from.  Too much background noise at times drowning out what the actors are saying, cheesy dialogue [only the writers can be blamed for that!] ,  actors not being able to pronounce words correctly. Loads of unnecessary scenes [but that's how part 2&3 are born] , The list is endless  . With all its problems however,  nollywood is still something to be proud of, i am not nigerian and i am proud of your achievements,  not many countries can boast  a thriving movie industry!  Hollywood is the hallmark of movie industries worlwide but as i am writing now i cannot think of one movie that i have seen that has made me stop and take a look at how i treat members of my family, people in general, Hollywood entertains me, Nollywood entertains  but most importantly tries to impart to thier viewers little moral lessons that forces us to take a look at oursevles and try to be better human beings,  this is my opinion based on the few movies i have seen.
sorry did not mean to be preachy!
