The other side( behind/beside her) was much safer. The people could have wore a thinking cap. The panic caused a bad decision and direction. This is why one has to be careful of what and whole they listen to. How sad!
Exactly

There were areas where the current was weak, diagonally behind her

She didn't need to take that jump.

Whoever brought up that lousy idea and everyone who stood by and hoped it would work needs to be arrested and made to undergo psychiatric evaluation.

A better option would have been to wait out or make her way through her ten o'clock, there are some weak areas diagonally behind her

Life!... Death yii noni. What's the point of men chasing after clouds and the end comes one day. Rest in the Lord sir.
The thrill is in the chase and not necessarily the catch.

These are some of the things that give some sort of meaning to a meaningless life.

There must be something in governance
that
corrupts the most noble of men

It has to be an element of power that steels/steals the soul of saints
and knocks the eyes cold

Pre 2007, Rochas was a very respected and loved noble man, then he ventured into politics. Moreso with his philanthropy, He was close to the status of a saint.

But after he became governor, his character and personality did an about turn.

The way Nigeria is headed, I see us ending up like Afghanistan and other countries where different rebel and terror groups took over the government.

In all regions, there are strong non state actors ruling large territories and swathe of land.

It's only a matter of time before they make it to the major cities and oust the government.

Already, our security agencies and apparatchik have all been infiltrated, compromised and lost the will, zeal and spirit to fight.

Very sad situation.

It is in years to come that we will understand what we are doing to ourselves when there will be few people willing to go the route of becoming academics.

When the dearth of academics and teachers hit us, may be then we will start importing teachers and professors and relying on expatriates.

Since after my first degree in law, I never really had any motivation to go further.

Owo ni Koko!
