It was 9.00 p.m.
I switched off my engine and tilted the rear view mirror one last time to check up on my make-up.

The time had finally come to meet him again. It has been almost 10 years since we last met and even though it was not a planned meeting, I knew it was going to be an eventful night. I smiled to myself reminiscing over the events that unfolded before we parted. He was going to see me now; changed, beautiful and sexier than I had ever been before. “Will he like what he sees?” I wondered.

“Well, there’s only one way to find out”, I said with a smile slowly playing across my lips.
I entered the dimly lit bar oozing of rum, cigarette and an array of perfumes and looked around hastily before I began my long-rehearsed cat-walk in search of Sam. As I scanned the room, I refused to be distracted by more than a dozen pair of eyes focused on me.

I momentarily looked at a tall dashing man who looked like a smaller version of a Greek god in all his masculine glory and he was staring right back through the glass of wine he seductively sipped on. In his eyes I could see lust and desire and he winked alluringly at me. I felt myself flush as I quickly darting my eyes away from him.

“That must be what those Yoruba Demons look like in real life, so help me God!”, I thought to myself.

Tonight, I actually decided to dress a little showier, pushing past the boundaries of my definition of sexuality just a little bit (or maybe not so little). I had carefully selected today’s outfit – a black lacy sleeveless corset and pencil black leather skirt with a center slit that stopped a few inches above my knee, a pair of bronze high heeled pumps and a matching bronze bag.

My waist-long wavy Peruvian hair was newly made and it took me at least an hour to wear my make-up. I knew I would get some stares, but this was way more than I bargained for.

“Maybe I should have just worn the d--n flats!” I muttered under my breath as my knees began to wobble slightly under the intense stares of the male folks around me. Finally I saw him, legs crossed in a private booth at the far west wing of the bar with his impeccable white shirt.

When I got closer, I noticed it had light blue highlights at both sides on the collar, a fashion stunt that only Tommy Hilfiger could pull off easily. He was taking a call and had his back to me as he struggled to communicate with his caller amidst the blaring music from multiple speakers.

I brushed my fingers across the back of his head and whispered seductively to him, “Missed me?”

He turned and smiled broadly, drinking in what I wore before finally standing to hug me as he ended his call. His hug was gentle yet domineering. He stepped back to look at me with his eyes boring deep into mine and slowly inched forward to kiss me.

It started coming back to me at that moment. What I had missed, desired and craved for all those years we were apart. The feeling was euphoric but no….I had to stop it. It was unfair to let him do this to me, to give him hope and for me to have hope.

“Slow down Mister” I chuckled and pushed back at him while docking my head to the side at the same time to evade the imminent kiss
“What? What’s the problem dear?” he asked slightly disappointed with a face that was obviously excited to see me.

“You know I am not a sucker for public display of emotions”, I replied raising an eyebrow and hoping he wouldn’t push further.
He smiled, released me from his embrace and motioned me to have a seat, gesturing with a courtesy bow like an English prince.

”I do apologize me lady, would you care to have a seat and let me order some of the finest cocktail available for your drinking pleasure”
“Now, this seems like a worse option to the kiss”, I laughed lifting my left hand to my temple to shield my eyes from the apparent ogling from people watching the drama nearby.

Saudi Arabia have banned FC Barcelona shirts in the country, with anyone caught wearing one facing a possible fine of €135,000 and an accompanying 15-year prison sentence.

The new law follows the cutting and breakdown of diplomatic relations in the region between themselves and Qatar, who the Saudi Kingdom this week accused of being supporters of ISIS.

Resultingly, and bizarrely, Saudi Arabia have now moved to punish Barca’s shirt sponsors of the last four years, Qatar Airways whose company logo adorns the Spanish clubs kit as well as other training and promotional gear.

According to Sky in Italy, those now caught wearing the shirt with the Qatar Airways wording may now face a 15-year prison sentence and an €135,000 fine, with other countries that have sided with Saudi Arabia in the dispute set to follow suit, including Egypt, Bahrain, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.

Although Barcelona are to now play with the logo of Japanese company Rakuten following a four-year sponsorship deal, it is believed wearing a Barca jersey of any sorts in the Middle East could get fans in trouble.

A suspected kidnap kingpin, popularly known as Evans, who was arrested by police in Lagos on Sunday, said that he chose to collect ransom in dollars to be different from other kidnappers.

The suspect, while being paraded at the State’s Police Command in Ikeja, told Newsmen that he started the business of kidnapping in 2015, after he left his spare parts business.

He claimed that he lost N20 million to customs officers, which made him to leave his trade.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the suspect was arrested in his mansion in Magodo area of the state on Saturday.

Evans, who wasn’t sure of how many people he had kidnapped, said the highest he had collected as ransom was one million dollars.

“I can’t figure out how much I have collected so far or how many people I have kidnapped, but I have kidnapped up to 10 since 2015.

“I choose to collect ransom in dollars to be different, and the maximum I have collected as ransom so far is 1 million dollars.

“I work in two groups, a team moves with me to kidnap victims while we hand over to the other team that takes the victim to the hide out.

“Kinsley introduced me to kidnap, but I usually get my ammunition from one Chinedu and Ehis whom I met at Ago-Iwoye.

“I also do drug business that enabled me to buy my property,” the suspect said.

The Force PPRO, Jimoh Moshood said that the suspect had collected billions of naira from his victims and had property in and outside the country.

He said that Evans was declared wanted in 2013, following a kidnap attempt that was foiled by the police.

“He is said to have masterminded several kidnap cases in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun and South-South states,’’ the police said.

Moshood said further investigation into his activities were ongoing.

Strange as it appears, an aroused couple romped each other on a Ryanair flight as passengers watched in shock and captured the moment on their phones.

The couple defiled shyness, and nor did they bother to use the restroom, but chose to get on each other in front of passengers on the flight from Manchester to Ibiza, at 8.20pm Thursday.

Passengers watched as the woman clamped on top of her boyfriend and they began to romp an hour into the flight to the party island.

A nine-month-old baby was reportedly taken from her mother and thrown of a moving tri-cycle by three men.

According to report, the mother, aged 19 or 20, was gang-r*ped by the men, her baby girl suffered head injuries and was killed in the process.

The attack happened on May 29 in Gurgaon, on the outskirts of New Delhi.

The baby’s mother told the police that she had been attacked after getting into an autorickshaw with her daughter around midnight on May 29 to travel to her parents’ house in Gurgaon, in northern Haryana state.

There were already two men on board, along with the driver.

Gurgaon’s commissioner of police Sandeep Khirwar told AFP they should be able to progress further in the case today, including making possible arrests.

This latest incident comes shortly after two other high-profile rape cases in Haryana.
India has a gruesome record on rape, with the capital New Delhi alone registering 2,199 rape cases in 2015 — an average of six a day.

Nearly 40,000 rape cases are reported every year but the real number is thought to be much higher.

Police said they have registered a case of murder and gang rape after are interrogating several people.

Last month, police arrested a man accused of kidnapping, raping and killing his ex-girlfriend in the state. He is alleged to have smashed her head with bricks before running her over in a car.

In another case, a 10-year-old was found to be five months pregnant after allegedly enduring sustained sexual assault at the hands of her stepfather.

A court later granted the girl permission to have an abortion despite Indian law prohibiting terminations beyond 20 weeks.

A young woman in Brazil probably thought she’d come up with a foolproof way of smuggling drugs when she masqueraded as a mum-to-be.


Police wouldn’t search a pregnant woman, right? Wrong.


The 24-year-old brunette created an elaborate fake bump, which was stuck to her stomach with lengths of tape and then covered with clothes. Inside the “belly” was 3kg of cocaine.

A man travelling with her was reportedly also arrested.

It is not clear what punishment, if any, the pair received.

This is not the first time a woman has tried smuggling drugs by pretending to be pregnant.

Looking at your face, it is obvious you don’t have any make-up on today, is that a personal or church decision?


On Monday, August 22, a photo of a beautiful bride who wore her natural look to her wedding went viral. Several reports claimed that she is a black and beautiful Ghanaian bride. Click here if you missed it.

Well, Vanguard Allure made a research and discovered that Bisola Umoren is not just a Nigerian, but a Lagos State born bride who shook social media with her daring no-make-up wedding looks.

For a good start, I’m not the make-up type. I don’t even wear ear-rings or like to drop my hair. I don’t like any form of inconvenience or discomfort on my face, my neck and entire body.


It is not a church thing, it is just me and my personal decision. I can do makeup if I want to. In fact, during my engagement in April, I was so pressured to have makeup on. They convinced me that it was going to be Unclad. I agreed and went for it. Lo and behold, when they were done, I hated myself because I looked so unlike my usual self. I looked darker and older. The whole engagement pictures were nothing to write home about.

Was that the main reason you went for a natural look on your wedding day?
Just like I was convinced to wear make-up on my engagement day, I was also told to do same for my wedding. I also planned to go for Unclad make over. I contacted a make-up artiste and she was on standby. On that‎ fateful morning, I was in the car and I looked at the mirror and liked what I saw. Meanwhile, because I was already running late, I had begged the make-up artiste to come over and do the make up in the church (inside the car). After all, it wasn’t supposed to be a serious thing- just small touches here and there.

So, as I stared at myself in the mirror, I looked so natural and beautiful; I really liked what I saw.

Some church members also came to me and liked my natural look and agreed with me not to make up.

Secondly, to be honest, when my husband first met me, I had not had my bath, but he saw and fell in love with my natural look. My hair was due, my face looked way older, I was even tying nylon on my hair when he came to me on that fateful morning, yet he loved what he saw. So, who am I supposed to be making all that up for on my wedding day?

So, that was it. I think God just decided to crown me with early morning beauty the day I wedded.

Interestingly, the photographer and the make-up person, were insisting that I should touch up my face a little but I blatantly refused. In the process, a marriage committee member overheard us and warned that make-up is not allowed inside the Church; Christ Apostolic Church, Surulere.
So, before then, you had no idea they don’t wear make-up to your church?
Yes! I had no idea. Some C.A.C parishes wear make-up to church, but some don’t. I only got to know that morning. We wedded in my parent’s parish, so we were not used to their rules and regulations.

Well, because of that we concluded that I would have some make-up on after the church; before the reception. But the picture that went viral, I had no makeup on, not even powder.

When you saw your pictures all over the internet what was your first reaction?
I’m a writer and a blogger with a Facebook fan page. So, I actually uploaded the pictures on my Facebook page, telling my fans and readers that I have gotten married. As at Tuesday, it had over 1, 500 shares on Facebook. The picture went viral with some people saying all kinds of things about me.

I’m a very emotional person. I saw the pictures on different blogs and the comments were not pleasant at all. Someone even said that I wanted to be famous that was why I didn’t use makeup. Some other persons said I was trying to condemn those wearing make-up on their wedding day that was why I went for natural look. The comments were too much and mostly insulting. I had to stop reading them because it was really getting at me.
Honestly, if i knew it would be like this, I wouldn’t have posted it.

Why did people conclude that you are Ghanaian?
Well, I can’t really say. My Facebook page has people around the world visiting and reading my stories. I guess one particular Ghanaian guy, picked it up also and posted on his twitter page, asking if ladies can actually do what I did by wearing a natural look on a wedding day. His post also went viral and I guess, that was where bloggers picked it from and assumed that I am a Ghanaian. It was very controversial as I kept receiving all kinds of calls, some condemning me, some applauding, some questioning, I was just pissed at a point.

How did your husband react to all of these?
My husband is quite understanding. He was just laughing and wondering why people are so surprised about the whole thing. He wasn’t angry at all.
