PoliticsCorruption Not Our Main Problem, Igbo Leaders Tell Fg by marryjesus(op): 6:33am On Oct 10, 2017
The Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT), under the leadership of a foremost constitutional lawyer, Prof. Ben Nwabueze, has said that corruption is not Nigeria’s primary problem, and called on the Federal Government to address other critical problems.

The Igbo leaders say government’s current pre-occupation with the anti-corruption campaign has relegated other serious national challenges to the background.
Nwabueze, who spoke with reporters after their meeting in Enugu yesterday, faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s Independence speech on his administration’s resolve to tackle corruption as Nigeria’s number one enemy, stating that the national question has an intimate connection with corruption as a fundamental cause of it.

The elder statesman stressed that recent events in the country had proved beyond doubt that it is not corruption, but the national question that threatens the continued existence of Nigeria.
He said: “Everybody is thinking that all that we need is to fight corruption; it is important, but it is not our primary problem. “There are other issues that are even more important than corruption.”
Besides, the Igbo leaders attributed rising agitations in the country for Biafra, Niger Delta and Oduduwa republics to the failure of past and present administrations to resolve the national question, stressing that restructuring and setting up peace and reconciliation commission were the way to go.
They also asked Buhari to halt the alleged corruption at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) by thoroughly investigating the feud between the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the corporation and the Minister of State for Petroleum).
The leaders stated that the near silence over developments at the NNPC could give wrong signals that the war against corruption was targeted at few persons in the country.
Also, in the communiqué issued after the meeting and read by its Secretary-General, Prof. Elochukwu Amucheazi, the group observed a total lack of action directed at the problem of national question, saying: “There is a total failure to recognise the existence of the problem that denies justice and equal treatment to some ethnic nationalities and exclusion from Federal Government.
“There are other issues that are even more important than corruption. “We have the question of illiteracy, poverty and security.”

PoliticsYobe Claims Spending N13b On Soldiers, Seeks Refund by marryjesus(op): 6:25am On Oct 10, 2017
The Yobe government has asked the Federal Government for a refund of N13 billion spent on taking care of the military joint task force prosecuting the war against insurgency in the state.

Briefing State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari in the Presidential Villa yesterday, Governor Ibrahim Gaidam said the refund would go a long way in solving some of the problems of the state.
According to him, Yobe specifically needs the refund now to be deployed in the provision of other services, including the establishment of hospitals for the benefit of the people.

The governor lamented that the displaced people of the state have not received any monetary support from the Presidential Committee on North East Initiative that could have assisted in the building and reconstruction of their houses so that they can start their normal lives.
“We have not received a kobo in terms of cash, but in terms of materials, food and non-food items, we have been receiving a lot which I cannot tell you precisely in a quantified form here. We have received enough.
“But during the last administration, Yobe State took care of the joint task force which is a combination of the military, the SSS and the police who were carrying out the war against insurgency.
“We even paid their allowances and provided all their logistical needs, including patrol vehicles. We have spent quite a substantial amount of money in that direction up to about N13 billion during the time of insurgency.
“We have submitted to the Federal Government if they could refund even 30 percent of that so that we can deploy it for the establishment of some infrastructure like hospital.
“Recently, we awarded a construction of cargo airport. If we can get a portion of that money, it will go a long way in relieving some of our problems,” he said.
Gaidam explained that his mission to the villa was to seek federal assistance to facilitate resettlement, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the destroyed areas by Boko Haram insurgents in the state.
“I told him that we have now got relative peace in Yobe State in terms of the insurgency. For the past two years or so, we have not had any attack by the insurgents in Yobe.
“So, I accordingly briefed him and told him that all our Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have returned to their bases and resumed their normal businesses. Our problems now border on resettlement, rehabilitation and reconstruction of the destroyed areas by the Boko Haram,” he said.
Gaidam spoke as the Coordinator of Joint Intelligence Centre (JIC) of Theatre Command, Operation Lafiya Dole, Brig-Gen Abdulrahman Kuliya handed over 760 cleared suspected members of Boko Haram to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State for re-integration into society.
Handing over the cleared suspects yesterday at the Bulunkutu
Rehabilitation Centre, Maiduguri, Kuliya said they were cleared after thorough “interrogation and investigation” by JIC of the Theatre Command.
“We had to clear all these suspects before you, by profiling their individual relations and activities with Boko Haram. We certify that none of them is involved directly or indirectly in terrorist activities, before handing them to the governor for reintegration into their respective communities in Borno,” said Kuliya at the handover ceremony.
According to him, the crackdown on Boko Haram terrorists is yielding significant results in terms of reduced suicide bombings that claimed many lives and property in Borno State and most parts of the North-East.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has described the late former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen Victor Malu (rtd) as an icon of professionalism, bravery and discipline.
This was contained in a condolence message to the Malu family as well as the government and people of Benue State on the death of the former Force Commander of the ECOMOG peace-keeping troops in Liberia who passed away yesterday.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, President Buhari also commiserated with the Nigerian Armed Forces on the demise of a very distinguished and professional colleague, who demonstrated incredible courage and leadership, including during very turbulent times in Liberia.
The president recalled that as Force Commander of the ECOMOG peace-keeping troops in Liberia from 1996 to 1998, General Malu was an icon of professionalism, bravery and discipline, and he aptly demonstrated these attributes throughout his national and international military assignments.
The president said that the late Malu would be fondly remembered for his dedication and commitment as a military officer; and his numerous landmark contributions to Nigeria’s unity and development.
Buhari urged the bereaved family, friends and associates to honour Malu’s memory by upholding his invaluable sacrifices for a peaceful and united Nigeria.
Also yesterday, President Buhari condoled with the Ghanaian ‎President Nana Akufo-Addo over last Saturday’s gas explosion in Legon, suburb of Accra, where many persons were reported killed.
A statement by Adesina yesterday said President Buhari offered the condolences to the government and people of Ghana in a telephone call on Sunday, where he prayed for those who lost loved ones and friends in the tragedy, and a speedy recovery for the injured.
The Nigerian leader told his Ghanaian counterpart that his personal thoughts and prayers, as well as those of all Nigerians, were with their Ghanaian brothers and sisters as they mourn their loved ones.
President Buhari further prayed that Ghanaians, who are known for their extraordinary strength and resilience, would overcome the disaster and rise above the losses the country suffered in recent times from gas-related explosions.
President Akufo-Addo thanked President Buhari for his comforting and kind words, the statement added.

PoliticsN40bn: Serap Seeks Court Orders For Fg To Stop Ex-govs’ Emoluments by marryjesus(op): 6:29am On Oct 09, 2017
A civil society organisation, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has sued the federal government over its failure to stop former governors and now serving senators and ministers from receiving double pay and life pensions, and failure to seek recovery of over N40billion of public funds unduly received by these public officers.

The suit number FHC/L/CS/1497/17 filed last Friday at the Federal High Court Lagos, followed the organisation’s request to the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice,Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), urging him to use his “position as a defender of public interest to institute legal actions to stop former governors from enjoying emoluments while drawing normal salaries and allowances in their positions as senators and ministers.

The suit brought pursuant to Order 34, Rules 1 and 3 of the Federal High Court Rules 2009 and the inherent jurisdiction of the court argues that, “Public function should be exercised in the public interest. Double emoluments promote private self-interest or self-dealing. By signing double emoluments laws, which they knew or ought to know that they would be beneficiaries, these former governors have abused their entrusted positions, and thereby obtained an undue advantage, contrary to article 19 of the UN Convention against Corruption to which Nigeria is a state party.”

The suit is seeking the following reliefs: an order granting leave to the applicant to apply for Judicial Relief and to seek an order of Mandamus directing and or compelling the respondent to urgently institute appropriate legal actions to challenge the legality of states’ laws permitting former governors, who are now senators and ministers to enjoy governors’ emoluments while drawing normal salaries and allowances in their new political offices; and to identify those involved and seek full recovery of public funds from the former governors.

The organisation is also arguing that “senators and ministers should not be receiving salaries and pensions running into billions of naira from states that are currently unwilling or unable to pay their workers’ salaries and pensioners’ entitlements. National and international laws implicitly forbid public officials entrusted with public resources from granting to themselves emoluments for life while serving in other public offices including as senators and ministers.”

The suit read in part: “Taking advantage of entrusted public offices and positions to enact laws to grant double emoluments and large severance benefits to serving public officials amounts to not only an abuse of office but also incorrect, dishonourable and improper performance of public functions, as per the provisions of paragraph 2 of article 8 of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

“By virtue of Sections 150 and 174 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and Section 26 (2) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000, the respondent as the Chief Law Officer of the country and the defender of public interest is constitutionally and statutorily empowered to institute and undertake criminal proceedings against any person in Nigeria in respect of any offence created by or under any Act of the National assembly in superior courts in Nigeria.

“The federal government has a responsibility to stop former governors from receiving double pay at the expense of workers and pensioners. This position is buttressed by article 27 of the Vienna Convention on the Laws of Treaties, which provides that no state can justify the noncompliance with an international treaty with reference to internal law, including even the constitution.”

CrimePolice Recover Illicit Drugs In Mushin, Arrest 50 Suspected Peddlers by marryjesus(op): 6:12am On Oct 09, 2017
A Joint enforcement operation by operatives of the Lagos State police command and the task force at the weekend, led to the arrest of 50 suspected criminals and the recovery of 48 bags of illicit drugs.

The arrests were made during the ongoing state-wide enforcement operation tagged ‘Eradication of Criminal Hideouts’ carried out around the Akala area and other drug den of Mushin.
The raid was led by Soji Akinbayo, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, Olayinka Egbeyemi, a Superintendent of Police (SP) and all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) under the Area ‘D’ command in Mushin.

Confirming the arrests, Egbeyemi said 44 male and six female suspected notorious criminals were arrested during the raid. He disclosed further that 48 bags of substances suspected to be Indian hemp with packs of other illicit drugs such as ‘Novalyn with Codeine Cough Syrub’ and ‘Tuxil-C cough and cold with Codeine’ were recovered during the midnight raid.
One of the suspects, Sunday Adesoye a.k.a ‘Malboro’ confessed that the Akala area serves as a ‘Central Market’ for Indian hemp and illicit drugs to all miscreants and hoodlums across the state. He added that he sold an average of N500,000 worth of Indian hemp with other illicit drugs per day to his customers from Obalende, Oshodi, Pen Cinema, Apapa, Lagos Island, Fadeyi, among others.
Another suspect, Mrs. Basirat Jimoh a.k.a ‘Iya Suzzy’, confessed to have been trading in Indian hemp and other illicit drugs at Akala for over 17 years. She, however, claimed to be only buying/selling the product and not into criminal activities.
All the suspects were charged before Magistrate Lateef Owolabi of the Lagos State Mobile Court on a three-count charge of unlawful possession of weed suspected to be Indian hemp, trading in Indian hemp and conduct likely to cause breach of peace and disorder.
The Prosecuting Counsel, Oluremi Kuku, disclosed the suspects all pleaded ‘Not Guilty’ before the Magistrate granted them a bail condition and adjourned the case to November 15, for further hearing. The Lagos State Office of Public Defender however provided free legal services for all the accused through Bashiru Abdulsalam.

Crime77-year-old Man Rapes 12-year-old Girl In Gombe by marryjesus(op): 2:34am On Sep 27, 2017
Gombe State Police Command has arrested a 77-year-old man, Abubakar for allegedly raping a 12-year-old-girl. Abubakar was said to have been caught in the act recently. He was said to have lured the minor to the premises of an organisation where he works as a security guard.

Daily Sun gathered that the girl’s relations trailed her to a room within the premises, where Jauro committed the act. The irate youth, who gathered at the scene, would have set the office ablaze but for the timely intervention of the police, who were invited to the scene by the North East zonal correspondent of the organisation.

Defending his action, Jauro was alleged to have said that he invited the girl to his duty post to give her empty table water containers as she requested. However, a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Mary Obed Malum, said the command also smashed a cell of armed robbers allegedly terrorising Bojude, Ashaka, Nafada and Dukku communities.

Mallum gave the names of the robbery suspects as Musa alias Sarki, Gidado, Bappah and Bello. According to the statement, two locally made pistols, one iron rod and an axe were recovered from them. “Equally, the command arrested a notorious kidnapper, one Umaru, who has been on the police wanted list in Adamawa, Kaduna, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara states,” the statement added.

Items recovered from the kidnapper included two machetes and a SIM card, which he used to threaten his victims. The PPRO commended the public for heeding the call by the newly appointed Commissioner of Police in the state, Shina Tairu Olukolu, to collaborate and support the command with genuine information.

PoliticsGood Governance’ll Reduce Political Tension, Says Wike by marryjesus(op): 7:19am On Sep 25, 2017
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has said only good governance can reduce the political tension in the country.

The governor also said with the absence of good governance at the federal level, agitations will continue across different parts of the country.

Speaking during the 57th Independence Church service at Saint Mark’s Anglican Church in Port Harcourt, yesterday, Wike declared Rivers state is not part of any agitation for secession.

“In as much as you continue to have bad governance, people will continue to agitate across the country.

“We give God the glory that we are still one, despite the agitations and challenges. God has blessed this country. We are not part of those who want to secede. Rivers state will never be part of that.”

The governor, however, pointed out that the country cannot continue with the current level of impunity and injustice and added that it is time for the right thing to be done.

“People must speak out; that what is going on is not correct. Under this dispensation, votes no longer count. I have faith that we will come out of the present predicament.”

The governor explained that one of the reasons why politicians act irrationally is because they know that the Nigeria Police and the Independent National Electoral Commission can manipulate results in their favour.

He called for better security and justice for all federating units to give all Nigerians a sense of belonging and de-escalate tension across the land.

Wike reiterated his call for the investigation of the criminal activities of the Special Anti-robbery Squad, which he said has become a notorious criminal gang in the state.

In his sermon, Anglican Bishop of Evo Diocese, Rt Rev Innocent Ordu said Nigeria has developed, despite her many challenges and urged Nigerians to respect the laws of the country, support constituted authorities and work for the growth of the country.

The independence church service attracted top government officials, security agencies and traditional rulers.

PoliticsWhy African Players Don’t Get International Recognition, By Okocha by marryjesus(op): 6:25am On Sep 25, 2017
Off the pitch worries ranging from how to overcome poverty, pressure to prove self and other challenges have been identified as reasons why African players seldom get international recognition, reports soccernet.com.

Former Super Eagles Captain, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, who made the submission while speaking on CNN, noted that African players are forced by circumstances beyond their control to work twice as hard if they are to enjoy recognition like their European counterparts.
The former PSG and Bolton Wanderers midfield maestro, however, expressed hope that future players will get recognition faster as efforts are being made to remedy some of the situations serving as clogs in the wheel of progress.

“African players worry about a lot of challenges which affect them so they have to work twice as hard to earn recognition. You are under a lot of pressure to prove yourself, you worry about how to overcome poverty, and it will also interest you to know that some foreign clubs don’t sign African players because of the timing of the African Nations Cup… so all these pose a lot of challenge for the African player and this no doubt can affect potentials. But a few things are being worked upon and I believe the younger players will have better chances,” he said.
Okocha, who hailed multiple award-winning duo of Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, noted that the two players have been unique, especially with their ability to maintain consistency. “It is not easy to be consistent and they have managed to maintain that and that is really impressive,” the former Eintracht Frankfurt and Fenarbahce man added.
The rivalry between the two players, he further noted, is a positive one, which has increased the desire for hard work among players for continuous self-improvement.
Okocha, who played for eight different clubs in the course of his career, made 75 appearances for the Super Eagles between 1993 and 2006 scoring 14 goals.

AgricultureEnugu Assembly To Amend Women Farmers Support Bill by marryjesus(op): 5:41am On Sep 24, 2017
Enugu State House of Assembly will amend the bill that provides for gender specific needs of female farmers, protects and empowers them with rights over agricultural land, water resources and other such related rights.

At a sensitisation meeting in Enugu at the weekend, the lawmakers observed that presently, the bill is not only contentious and discriminatory, but is against the spirit of the 1999 constitution, adding there was need to amend aspects of the bill to enable it serve overall interest of the society.

Presenting draft copy of the bill to the lawmakers, its sponsors, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC), a non-governmental, human rights organisation dedicated to the promotion and protection of women’s rights and rule of law in Nigeria, said it arose as certain issues on women’s rights and developmental concerns are still major challenges in Nigeria.
Executive Director of the organisation, Dr. Abiola Akiyode-Afolabi, said: “Nigerian women produce the bulk of food for domestic consumption and they are the drivers of food processing, marketing and preservation. AgricultureFlood Submerges 450 Rice Farms In Kwara by marryjesus(op): 5:20am On Sep 24, 2017
Four hundred and fifty eight farms under the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) anchor borrowers’ scheme have been submerged by flood in parts of Kwara State.
The farms are situated on the 3, 200 hectares federal government’s Tada-Shonga irrigation land for rice cultivation in Shonga, Edu Local Government Area of the state. The produce was due for harvest in October, this year.
The Kwara State governor, Alh Abdulfatah Ahmed, who led a federal lawmaker, Aliyu Ahman-Patigi, representative of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Elijah Aderibigbe and the Managing Director, Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority, Mr. Adeniyi Aremu, to the flooded farms, urged the federal government to come to the aid of the affected farmers.
Ahmed, who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Yusuf Abdulwahab, said the disaster had hampered the state’s quest to showcase it’s efforts in rice production.
He noted that the fund for the rice cultivation was sought from the CBN.
He said the flooded rice farms are part of the state’s major flagship agricultural scheme with huge value addition and appealed to the federal government to expedite action on dyke reconstruction.

The chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources, Aliyu Ahman- Patigi, expressed concern over the loss and advised the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to immediately come up with plans to mitigate the effect of the flood on farmers.

He said the sum of N720 million was budgeted for the construction of dyke in this year’s budget to permanently secure the rice farms against flooding in future.
Speaking in an interview, the representative of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Elijah Aderibigbe, announced that the first phase of the dyke construction would be completed by April, 2019.

Aderibigbe who is the acting Director of Irrigation and Drainage in the ministry, said the federal government was interested in the farms and would do everything possible to get the flood protection project completed.

PoliticsWhat Buhari Told Trump – Onyeama by marryjesus(op): 6:35pm On Sep 21, 2017
The federal government, has disclosed issues President Muhammadu Buhari discussed with United States (US) President Donald Trump.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama who accompanied President Buhari to the lunch Trump had with select African leaders, said President Buhari took the opportunity to put forward some of Nigeria’s priorities.

Onyeama added that Buhari also used the forum to get a sense of what the United States planned to do and support the processes.

The minister disclosed that the weaponry the US promised to release to Nigeria, have been delivered.

He particularly mentioned the Super Tucano aircraft which would assist Nigeria in overcoming the war against insecurity occasioned by the activities of the Boko Haram group.

“In particular, he thanked President Trump for having called him when he was in London recuperating, and for his very thoughtful gesture and good wishes and commended him because at that time, he promised to release some weaponry that the US was reluctant to sell to Nigeria and for having kept his word because they have been delivered, approval for the sale of Super Tucano aircraft which is badly needed in our fight against terrorists. He thanked him for that.

“He also thanked him for the US’ support with regards to fighting oil theft in the Gulf of Guinea and other security challenges there. He raised the issue with him, of fight against anti-corruption and our efforts to have restituted to Nigeria, huge funds that have been stolen and in some cases, lodged in the American banking system.

“So, he brought that to the attention of President Trump and I was hopeful that the US and he in particular, would do what he could to facilitate the process of recovery of those funds,” Onyeama said.

Onyeama affirmed that the meeting was a very good one, adding that President Buhari spoke generally about some of the challenges being faced in Africa and how the US could engage more positively with Africa.

PoliticsIpob Are Not Terrorists – Femi Fani-kayode by marryjesus(op): 4:33pm On Sep 21, 2017
Given the unfolding events in our country I believe that this is the time for deep introspection and sobre reflection.
I am not a member of IPOB, I have never attended any IPOB meeting and neither am I Igbo. I am however deeply concerned about what is going on in our country, what the Igbos are being subjected to and what I consider to be the greatest assault on the human rights and civil liberties of the Nigerian people since the military left power in 1999.

A violation of the constitutional right of freedom of association and freedom of speech affects not just those that have been targetted but each and every one of us.

An act of injustice against one is an act of injustice against all. What affects the part also affects the whole. If you beat my neighbours child it is as good as beating mine and consequently I have a duty to defend that child.

That is the essence of humanity and chivalry: to speak up for those that are being persecuted, to defend the defenceless, to fight for those that are too weak to fight for themselves and to be the voice of the voiceless.

We must cultivate the discipline and courage to defend the right of others to be different and to think differently from us and to express contrary views.

We may not all agree with the style, language and objectives of IPOB but we surely have a duty before God and the law to defend, uphold and affirm their right to express themselves in any way that they deem fit providing they do not threaten or hurt others whilst doing so.

This is the very essence, foundation and indeed cornerstone of freedom and democracy and if we allow the government to take that away from us and to get away with what they are doing without a stiff challenge we are finished as a people.

It is IPOB today but tomorrow it could be OPC, Ijaw Youth Council, Ohaneze, Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Arewa Youths, Arewa Consultative Forum, Northern Elders Forum or indeed anyone else.

I have never heard of a “terrorist” organisation that has not killed or threatened to kill anyone and that has totally rejected the idea of violence and an armed struggle.

I have never heard of a “terrorist” organisation whose only aspiration is to have a referendum to determine whether or not their people should or should not remain in Nigeria.

I have never heard of a “terrorist” organisation whose only objective is the peaceful and lawful exercise of the right of self-determination.

I have never heard of a “terrorist” organisation whose only crime is to take objection to the stripping away of their historical and cultural identity and to speak out against the willful marginalisation and mass murder of their people.

I have never heard of a “terrorist” organisation who believe in passive and non-violent resistance and who consistently emphasise the importance of peaceful opposition.

Saying that IPOB is a terrorist organisation is like saying that Mother Theresa is the Marquis De Sade. It is like saying that an angel from heaven is a demon from hell. It is like saying that Little Red Riding Hood is the hungry and ravenous wolf.

It is like saying that Snowhite is Jack the Ripper. It is like saying that Florence Nightingale is Aleister Crowley. It is like saying that the Apostle Paul is Anton La Vey.

It is like saying that John the Baptist is Atilla the Hun. It is like saying that Desmond Tutu is Ghengis Khan. It is like saying that John Knox is Adolf Hitler.

It is like saying that Martin Luther King is Osama Bin Ladin. It is like saying that Nelson Mandela is Ali Al Baghdadi. It is like saying that Mahatma Ghandi is Abubakar Shekau.

It is like saying that Amnesty International are the Fulani Herdsmen. It is like saying that Medecine Sans Frontier is Boko Haram. It is like saying that Human Rights Watch is ISIS.

It is like saying that the white dove of love and peace is the savage, cruel, blood-crazed and cadavar-eating vulture from the seventh circle of hell.

It is like saying that ice is fire. It is like saying that a believer is an infidel. It is like saying that a peaceful preacher is a violent blasphemer.

Such a designation and categorisation is unhelpful, inappropiate and unfair. It is a damning and specious lie that has been put out by a Federal Government that is paranoid, weak, bereft of ideas and scared of it’s own shadow.

It is a desperate attempt to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it. It is childish nonsense and it does not make sense.

Finally came the most absurd allegation of all: that IPOB is being funded by “treasury looters”, “disgruntled” and “destabilising” elements “in the opposition” and by France.

Some assertions are so insane and asinine that they ought not to be dignified with a response and this is one of them.

I urge IPOB to go to court and have the order that has designated them as a terrorist organisation set aside.

I also urge President Muhammadu Buhari and his Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to remember that when they exercised their right of freedom of speech three years ago and openly defended Boko Haram by saying respectively that “an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the north” and that it was “unconstitutional” and “unlawful” to ban them no-one threatened them with arrest because the government of that day had the prescence of mind to recognise the fact that the right to express one’s opinion, no matter how reprehensible that opinion may be, is enshrined in the constitution.

The Federal Government should take a queue from that and stop trying to manufacture a crisis where there is none or kill a fly with a sledgehammer.

They should also consider declaring the Fulani militants and herdsmen, who have been described by the International Terror Index as the “fourth most deadly terrorist organisation in the world” and who have killed more innocent Nigerians than any other terrorist organisation in the last two years, as the malevolent, vicious, murderous and bona fide cowards and terrorists that they are.

PoliticsBreaking:pdp Suspends Ifeanyi Ubah, Kashamu To Face Disciplinary Committee by marryjesus(op): 4:14pm On Sep 21, 2017
Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Anambra and CEO of Capital Oil and Gas Ifeanyi Ubah has been suspended by the National Working committee of the party.

Similarly, the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial district, Buruju Kashamu has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee.

On Tuesday, Ubah announced his decision to file a suit against the outcome of the governorship primaries that produced Oseloka Obaze as the party’s candidate for the Anambra election slated for November 18.
“I will be approaching the court to determine the legality or otherwise of the PDP primary in the state”, Ubah told newsmen.
“The election is fraudulent and it is illegal. However, we will allow the court to determine whether the party has the right to trample on its own constitution and the Electoral Act.
“The list of delegates used for the election was different from the list of delegates given to the Independent National Electoral Commission.“The commission supervised delegates’ election and the party submitted the names of the delegates. But my party manufactured new names and lists a day to the primary.
”The election was a show of shame as it was marred by obvious irregularities, leaving little to be desired and more questions than answers from the relevant authorities and party officials.”
Recall that PDP Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, recently warned members against going to courtfor the resolution of grievances.
He vowed that the party will sanction such persons, stressing that members must learn to take advantage of the internal mechanisms within the party in settling disputes.

“The party will take a very hard stand on any party member who is in a hurry to go to court without exhausting all the avenues available in the party for grievances to be heard and to be addressed accordingly,” he said.
“PDP is one family. At this stage it is not one side versus the other side; the only side that we’ll say is against us is anybody that may be taking us to court. Then, we will know you are against PDP.

“But if you are not, and you have accepted the Supreme Court judgment no matter your views and opinions, then we are one family.”

CultureWhy ‘outsiders’ Control Niger Delta Oil Blocks, By Olu Of Warri by marryjesus(op): 6:12am On Sep 18, 2017
The Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli, has explained why those he called outsiders control the oil blocks in the Niger Delta region, particularly in Delta State. He attributed the development to lack of unity among the various ethnic groups inhabiting the region, which emboldened outsiders to take over their resources.

The monarch, who spoke at the weekend in his palace during the installation of three new chiefs in the kingdom, said inter-ethnic rivalry was the reason the region could not attain its full potential thereby creating a corridor for outsiders to implement “a divide and rule” diplomacy and take control of the resources of the region.
Ikenwoli, who warned that “personal interest” was not allowing the dividends of democracy get to the grassroots, charged the ethnic groups to work collectively together for the development of the state and region, stressing that until there is comprehensive unity, the much sought after development in the region may be a mirage.

The monarch said: “The Ijaw man should fight the cause of the Itsekiri and the Itsekiri man should support the Ijaw man, including the Isoko and the Urhobo. If we are united, outsiders will be afraid to divide us. Because we created loopholes for outsiders to exploit us, today, no Itsekiri man or Ijaw man has oil well or oil block, yet the oil is in our land.”
In another development, host-community contractors in Bayelsa State have vowed to shut down Conoil Producing Nigeria Limited in Koluama community of Southern Ijaw Local Council of Bayelsa State over N400 million debt owed them by the firm.
The contractors, under the auspices of Conoil Ango Field Marine Spread Contractors, claimed the oil major owed them for about 10 months for the barges and tugboats hired from them for its operations.
In a petition, a copy made available to The Guardian in Yenagoa, which was addressed to the management of Conoil, the contractors said they had patiently waited since December 2016 until September 2017, but the company had yet to pay them for their services and equipment.

Meanwhile, the Public Affairs Manager, Conoil, Mr. Richard Edegbeai, confirmed that the company was owing the contractors.Edegbeai, who urged the contractors to exercise patience, said the firm was making frantic efforts to pay them. He, however, blamed them (contractors) for going to the media over the development. He said that when the going was good with them, nobody heard anything.
Edegbeai stated: “The ones they have collected before, did they go to the media houses to report that Conoil was paying them promptly? I do not understand them. If you are doing contracts, and for one reason or the other, there is delay in payment, they should understand.
‘’When it was good, nobody heard. They did not go to any place to report. Yes, it is true that we are owing them and we are processing the money. A cheque of N200 million was to be given to them last Friday, but somehow, the cheque did not come on time.”

PoliticsIs Nnamdi Kanu A Coward To Go Into Hiding Place Now ? by marryjesus(op): 12:04am On Sep 18, 2017
It is criminally offensive for any right thinking human to advice or advocate for Nnamdi Kanu to show his face now to prove that he's a hero or kind of superman. Kanu is well smarter than you think. It is either you do not know history or you're plain daft! I will tell you why.

We've seen great men go on a retreat when things blow hot and come back stronger. It has been since the inception of the world and so shall it be.

In the scriptures, we saw how Moses fled from Egypt after Pharaoh came for his life having killed an Egyptian that fought with an Israelite. He fled to Middian, settled down in Reuel's house, got married to his daughter Ziporah and gave birth to a son he called Gershom meaning “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land.”. He came back after Pharaoh died and rescued the Israelites out from bondage.

Absalom fleed from his father David when he heard that he would be killed.

It is also on record that the mighty warrior King David fled from his son too. He fled from Jerusalem and planned to regain his throne. We also know that KING David himself did not take part in the counterattack, having been persuaded by his generals to remain behind.

I can go on and on.

Here in Nigeria, we are quite familiar with such.
El Rufai pretended to be a student and escaped when Yaradua wanted his head, today he's a Governor and an icon to the Northerners.

Bola Tinubu wore Iro Ati Baba and fled from Abacha through cotonou, today he's the JAGABAN of Yorubas and worshiped like a god.
We also heard of Kayode fayemi who dressed like a fisherman and fled through idi iroko to continue his radio Kudirat attack outside the country.

But,

You want Nnamdi Kanu to stay behind with his cutlass and bottles to fight an armoured car and soldiers armed to the brim just to prove that he is immortal. You try!

It is also on record that few days ago following the killings of Biafra agitators in the South east by Operation python dance whose sole aim is to destroy and exterminate the Igbos from the surface of the earth, US constitutional lawyer Bruce Fein said that 'Nigeria has become the most dangerous place for Christians in the world right now'. What does that entail? It means that the world Is taking note.

EU also warned Nigeria that IPOB is not a terrorist group. What does it show? Ok!

Nigeria should even be thankful to kanu who did the wise thing by staying away from that compound. I'm sure if he drops, Nigeria will go into a full blown war by now which will suprisingly backfire for this government. This government is just careless and reckless. You're shameless fighting a man without weapons and bragging about it. We should be happy that IPOB is a peaceful group. And as such has not been armed yet.

Mandela had a military wing and used violence to fight Apartheid. They planted bombs at strategic government houses and even bombed electric supply of the whites. They even composed a song which goes 'Shoot the boer'. In 1964 during his trial, Mandela insisted on using violence as a tool. He was offered release several times including renouncing violence but he refused.

But Mandela is your hero while Kanu is a terrorist. Clap for yourself.

Hunting kanu will do Nigeria no good. They should dialogue with him and find peaceful means to calm the situation. Self determination is the sacred right of every citizen and freedom of speech is enshrined in the constitution of Nigeria. IPOB is a legal group and as such free to exercise their civil rights to agitate. In every ramifications, Kanu will defeat Nigeria hands down.

This fight won't help Nigeria rather It will bring the needed global sympathy kanu yearns for which will only help his cause. UN submit is in few days and I'm sure Biafra will be discussed. In same UN submit few years ago, it is on record that President Buhari called for self determination of Palestine and western Sahara, so turning around to shoot and kill your citizens for merely exercising their constitutional rights for self determination is quite sad, shameful, hypocritical and heartless from President Buhari.

PoliticsBuhari’s Integrity Is Unimpeachable – Onyeama by marryjesus(op): 8:40am On Sep 16, 2017
Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has described the integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari as unimpeachable and remained intact in the fight against corruption.

Onyeama told the Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New York that the amount of money siphoned out of the country was staggering.

According to him, however, the Federal Government has been engaging countries where the money was stashed away for repatriation.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is known as a crusader against corruption; his integrity in unimpeachable.

“The high level of corruption has played a direct role in the development deficit in the country.

“We know that corruption fights but it’s a fight this government intends to fight to the end.

“We will require global cooperation to facilitate restitution and repatriation of those funds. Corruption is an impediment to development,” the Minister said.

Onyeama said Switzerland had repatriated about $1 billion in looted funds to Nigeria while high-level discussions were ongoing with Britain, Qatar, the U.S. and a host of other countries.

He explained that corruption was endemic and was not going to be won overnight, stressing that the Federal Government was determined to block financial leakages in the system.

The minister added that Buhari had also made it clear that there would be no immunity for high-profile corrupt individuals, adding that the Whistle Blowers’ policy was working.

According to him, the Federal Government has the records of all the money recovered from proceeds of corruption and that the money would be channelled to appropriate projects that impact on the people.

He, however, said government was yet to ‘name and shame’ those from whom looted money was recovered so as not to discourage restitution.

Onyeama said Africa was blessed with various human and natural resources but that the enabling environments needed to be created for the continent to realise its full potentials.

The Minister also said that majority of Nigerians were hard working and honest people who were found in every country in the world.

On the reported skirmishes on the Bakassi Peninsula, Onyeama said there were no fewer than four million Nigerians in Cameroon, adding that Nigeria-Cameroon relations was cordial.

He also disclosed that Nigeria was calling for the reform of the UN Security Council to reflect the current realities.

According to him, Nigeria is pushing for two permanent members’ seats for Africa on the Council, adding that Nigeria was ready to serve Africa in that capacity.

The theme for the UN General Assembly is: ‘Focusing on People: Striving for Peace and a Decent Life for All on a Sustainable Planet’, holding from Sept. 19 to 25.

PoliticsIg Of Police Deploys Mobile Force Against Ipob by marryjesus(op): 8:56pm On Sep 15, 2017
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, has deployed over 500 Police Mobile Force men to Aba to checkmate members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Operations, Taiwo Lakanu, disclosed this on Friday at the Aba Police Area Command.

He disclosed that the I-G directed that peace should be restored to Abia, hence the deployment of the mobile policemen who had assumed duty in Aba.
“You can see that we have emplaced security and that the whole place is quite and our men are on patrol.
“For now we are still monitoring. So, for now there is no problem. We are on top of the situation. We are working in tandem with other agencies and they are cooperating with us,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian military in a statement by Major General, John Enenche, Director Defence Information, declared IPOB a terrorist organisation.

In a statement he issued earlier today, he gave reasons for the decision.
He said “after due professional analysis and recent developments, it has become expedient, to notify the general public that; the claim by IPOB actors that the organization is non violent is not true.
“Hence, the need to bring to public awareness the true and current state of IPOB. In this regard, some of their actions, clandestinely and actively, that has been terrorising the general public among others include;
“The formation of a Biafra Secret Service; Claimed formation of Biafra National Guard; Unauthorised blocking of public access roads; Extortion of money from innocent civilians at illegal road blocks.

“Militant possession and use of weapons (stones, molotov cocktails, machetes and broken bottles among others) on a military patrol on 10 September 2017.
“Physical confrontation of troops by Nnamdi Kanu and other IPOB actors at a check point on 11 September 2017 and also attempts to snatch their rifles.”

PoliticsHow Buhari Can Kill Nnamdi Kanu’s Agitation For Igbo Nation-omokri by marryjesus(op): 5:14pm On Sep 13, 2017
Former Special Adviser on New Media to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has advised the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government on steps to take in bringing an end to the ongoing agitation for Biafra.

Omokri advised Buhari to ignore the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu if he wants agitation for Biafra to “die a natural death.”

The former Presidential aide also admonished Buhari to be fair and balance to all region in his appointments.
He urged the current Federal Government to ensure that Igbos get their fair share of appointments and in the Federal Civil Services.
In a video he shared on his Facebook, Omokri urged Northern elders to call Buhari to order, stressing that the president’s method of handling the issue will create more problems to the country.
According to Omokri, “If you want this boy’s agitation to die a natural death ignore him, publicity and persecution are the oxygen he needs to grow his struggle, if you have wanted this Biafra agitation to die all you should have done is justice, equity in all your appointments.

“Look at NNPC you just overwhelmingly appointed 67 percent Northerners, if you had balanced your appointments and give people of the South Eat their own just view in the Federal Civil Service, if you had done equity you would have won the hearts of many people from the South East.
“People of the South East agitating for Biafra because they feel they are not well treated by the current Nigerian Government, for example the Military said they doing a show of force in Abia State and last Thursday 20 people were killed in Jos by Fulani herdsmen allegedly, now if the Military wants to do a show of Force why not go there, why not go to Southern Kaduna where many people have been killed?
“In Abia nobody has been killed there, the Military does not need to be there, I’m telling you know what is happening in the South East is going to make more Igbo youths want to join the Biafra struggle and make them so anti-Nigeria and this is the time when we need unity of purpose, the economy is collapsing all around us so we need to be united to rebuild the economy.
“Northern elders should talk to Buhari, talk to this man, let this man know that what he is doing is wrong, I understand that if you have a hammer you see all problems as a nail, his hammer is the Military and all problems he is applying Military Force.

“How much has the Military been able to quell the Boko Haram insurgency, look at the Shiite, they have not been quelled, they are regrouping. These people are not enemies they are your citizens and you need to be careful on how you deal with them or you will creating a major problem.
“If he can just treat people of the South East with equity what is happening right now would not have happened and I urged all those who have interest in President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss these issues with him.”

PoliticsThere’ll Another War If Nnamdi Kanu Is Killed, Igbo Youths Warn by marryjesus(op): 4:36pm On Sep 13, 2017
As the controversy over the whereabouts of the leader of the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) heightens, some Igbo youths, under the aegis of Igbo Youths Initiative (IYI), has warned that the death of Nnamdi Kanu would ignite another civil war in the country.

Speaking while reacting to the invasion of the Afaraukwu, Ibeku Umuahia country home of the IPOB leader and the claim by his lawyer that he did not know whether Kanu was still alive or not, president of the association, Prince Alexander Ezeobi, warned the Nigerian Army to stop forthwith, the show of force which they are carrying out in the south east part of the country.

According to him, “It is very unfortunate that the Army has left the north east where they are currently losing ground to the terrorist group, Boko haram to the peaceful south east to intimidate hapless citizens.”

He said that the soldiers should not forget that it was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinard at Saragevo in 1914 that caused the First World War, adding that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has become another Archduke Ferdinard for the oppressed in Nigeria.

“I want to say that what they (Army) are doing in the south east is operation show of shame. If they have strength what happened to the ultimatum given for the kill or capture of Abubakar Shekau?

The Nigerian army is currently losing ground to Boko Haram in the north east or is this so-called show of strength in the south east a technical withdrawal from the battle ground in the north east, where their services are needed the most.

“They should know that Nnamdi Kanu has become the voice of the voiceless Nigerians. He represents the suffering masses and we are solidly behind his quest for a restructured Nigeria.

“However, if those who don’t want Nigeria to become better kill him, we the youths would not fold our hands .Whenever an Igbo youth remove his shirt, things would happen. So, we want to appeal to the military to stop this provocation in the interest of peace .”

Ezeobi said the justice, equity and fairness to all which Nnamdi Kanu was fighting for was what would strengthen the unity of the country.

According to him, the only way for the country to remain united and move forward is for them to leave Nnamdi Kanu alone and begin to work towards returning the country to the regions as every right thinking Nigerian is clamouring for.

PoliticsNnamdi Kanu Caused Ipob Clash With Nigerian Army Says Group by marryjesus(op): 10:54am On Sep 13, 2017
Following the recent face-off between members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Nigerian military in Abia State, the South East Renewal Group (SERG) has blamed Nnamdi Kanu as the root cause of the bloody clash.

Recall that loyalists of Nnamdi Kanu and soldiers clashed in Umuahia near the residence of the IPOB leader.

The development forced the state government to declare three days of curfew across the state.
Reacting, SERG called on Igbo leaders to do the needful to avoid an impending war.
Speaking at a press conference Wednesday morning, Charles Mbani, National President of the group lamented that from his discovery, the IPOB youths have been brainwashed into seeing the army as the enemy.
According to Mbani, “You must have, like other Nigerians, watched recent events in Igboland with a sense of foreboding, concern and utmost dread. Images emerging from the southeast, our homeland, are as troubling as they are worrisome with the most recent being those of youths attacking military detachment with all manners of crude weapons including catapults, cudgels, machetes, sticks and others.

“These youths are being put up to this mischief after being brainwashed by the so called Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which is now militarizing them as its fighting force. These misguided youths have been deceived into thinking they are making the right sacrifice of protecting Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader whereas the only thing they sacrificing is their lives that they are throwing away on the alter of ignorance.
“The soldiers attacked by these uncouth elements are the ones taking part in Egwu Eke II (Operation Python Dance II), which we find most ridiculous considering that the same operation last year ensured that kidnappers and armed robbers that were desecrating our land were curtailed to a point where Igbos enjoyed peaceful 2016 Yuletide. We are therefore wondering if there is a nexus between IPOB and the crimes being eradicated by the military for its youths to become virulent on the scale being witnessed.”
Speaking further, the SERG leader condemned the confrontation with the military in the strongest terms.
He added, “We urge other well meaning elders of our land to join in condemning the incidents. The unnecessary attempt to provoke the military into using stick to address the Biafra issue would be catastrophic and those who love the region should do so well to warn their children from setting region ablaze.

“May we emphasise that Igbo leaders of thought must tarry no further in doing the needful before it’s too late. The conspiracy of silence on the part of these leaders is what has made Nnamdi Kanu fill the resulting vacuum as a demagogic evil that is leading out youth population astray. This disposition of indifference was displayed as the hate speech championed by Kanu gained momentum until it got to a point where other ethnic groups in Nigeria basically developed a morbid collective disdain for the Igbo.
“The hate speech has now crystalized and is the bedrock of the aggression being exhibited against the military. It nothing urgent is done the next phase in this ugly evolution could threaten our existence as a people.
“We have interrogated the situation and discovered that the IPOB youths have been brainwashed into seeing the army as the enemy, which is most unfortunate since the person whom they think they are defending is their real enemy. Nnamdi Kanu holds dual citizenship and will escape to the United Kingdom once he has the opportunity to flee across the border. He is going to leave behind broken bodies and damaged youths that would have destroyed their lives in pursuit of what is meaningless relative to contemporary world reality.”
The group further noted that some of those sponsoring the growing violence in south eastern Nigeria are those who lost money and political relevance having edged their bets in favour of former President Goodluck Jonathan being re-elected.
“Interestingly, Jonathan has moved up but these loser remained locked in the past and think their only access to redemption is to send our youths on suicide mission. We counsel such persons to desist forthwith for the Igbo nation is larger than the mess of pottage that they are bitter over.
“We have also noted the role of shameless politicians in Igboland that see the madness being advocated by Nnamdi Kanu as something to be milked for political capital. We have in the recent days seen such politicians rushing to tacitly endorse violence as the answer when other ethnic nationalities are pushing for restructuring. If violence is activated as being advocated the forget that our land would burn while other parts of the country continue with their life,” Mbani added.
Meanwhile, the Biafra National Guard (BNG) has declared war against the Nigerian Army.

CelebritiesNollywood Actor, Caz Chidiebere Reveals Those Behind Nnamdi Kanu by marryjesus(op): 10:23am On Sep 13, 2017
Nollywood actor, Caz Chidiebere has alleged that politicians are using the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu to destabilize Nigeria.

Chidiebere, who made the claim in a post on his Facebook page, also maintained that Kanu was using the secession struggle to gain “cheap popularity.”

He also faulted the fact that Kanu’s family are “abroad” while some “senseless” Igbo youths were willing to lay down their lives for the struggle.
The actor, however, urged the IPOB leader to join hands with government to make Nigeria a “better and livable” place.
According to Chidiebere, “For the first time on this Biafra struggle and agitations, I want to say a few words, To Mr Nnamdi Kanu have it at back of your mind that Nigeria is too big for u to keep messing with, I don’t really know the people using you to be creating all these troubles, but I know that your aim boils down to cheap popularity,
“Oga stop feeling rude in the midst of the radicals even if Biafra will be actualized it won’t be through someone like u whose kids are abroad and he delights in seeing others go thru stress to make him a redeemer.

“Igbo youths should see that this man is been used by politicians and the senseless once will keep on dying in the name of IPOB.
“My advice to you Mr kanu, take back your weapons of war if you are so learned and educated help the Nigeria government to make Nigeria better and livable for all of us.
“I love Nigeria, long live Federal republic of Nigeria, am in my palace come and beat me.”

PoliticsBiafra National Guard Declares War Against Nigerian Army by marryjesus(op): 10:00am On Sep 13, 2017
Biafra National Guard (BNG) says the Operation Python Dance II, to be carried out by the Nigerian Army in the South-east was targeted at Nnamdi Kanu and other agitators.

A statement Wednesday morning by self-styled ‘Major Nkuma’, said BNG knew that the operation “is a show of force and genocide intention which has already started”.

It, however, said the Army should be prepared for BNG warning that its the leadership of General Innocent Orji was ready for war.
The statement reads “We fear not; we dine, sleep and live hostility and will defend our lives. BNG continues to make it loud and clear that Biafra needs activation of self defense as enshrined in UN 2007 charter to restore Biafra and that is what BNG represents.
“Our commander; General Innocent Orji does not subscribe to defenseless agitation which is suicidal in Nigeria, but to continue on the path of non-violence, Nigeria must withdraw lethal force which might be impossible because we are considered slaves that deserve death. Our commander knows the terrain of self defense as enshrined in 2007 UN Charter on the rights of indigenous people.
“As we continue to make it clear; self defense is due because our people have continued to face death, threatened with suicide, promised to be crushed by Buhari and the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra whom BNG is saddled with responsibility of defending has come under severe threat as well.

“The people of Biafra and her leadership fully support the decision of Biafra National Guard because we are not violent agitators but out to stop the unlawful killing of our people. Biafra National Guard is not a violent group rather Nigerian military is violent to our people; killing and maiming us and BNG is an outfit designed to curb the wanton killing of Biafrans. We have never been violent in any shape or form; but would resist unlawful killing of our people.
“Operation Python Dance I- was formerly launched in Oct 27 through Nov 27 2017 which purportedly targeted kidnappers but the recent launch according to Major General David Ahmadu targets violent agitators and the question is, what violence is there in Southeast? The Nigerian military must understand that Biafra National Guard values life and respect human rights.
“Unlike Nigerian military that find strength against unarmed and peaceful civilians; we the Biafra National Guard find strength against unlawful hostile, undisciplined, happy-trigger soldiers that violate human rights, crush peaceful and law-abiding citizens. Operation Python Dance II in Southeast is a show of cowardice; BNG is not Southeast movement but Biafra military wing.
“The blood of the people of Biafra makes the python dance and merry; our molestation makes the python happy and laugh. Road blocks in Biafra make the python dance and party round, throw money like politicians. Raping our women makes the python dance but very soon Biafra National Guard shall make the python shade tears by denying the python the evil deeds that makes it dance.

“Northern Nigeria under the leadership of Arewa consultative forum obviously declared genocide against us; made genocide song, threatened us with quit notice and no single operation was launched in Northern Nigeria to defend our people. Nobody demanded account or investigated the act; nobody launched road blocks, nobody raided and not a single army was seen loitering in the North.
“Everything was okay because people that deserved death were to get it; even if Python Dance X (10) will be declared because Biafra National Guard vowed self defense, let them go on. If Nigerian military is fit; they should crush Boko Haram and not civilian populace. This python dance should be well informed that the days BNG was away are over.
“Fulani herdsmen have been killing our people and raping our women; attacking us in our worship centers and destroying our farms and nobody including the Nigerian military launched any operation to checkmate this terrorist organization sponsored by Buhari and Britain but just the moment Biafra National Guard declared that they won’t fold arms while their people are murdered on daily basis, Buhari and Britain launched operation Python Dance II. We refuse to continue to be species of terror; we shall defend ourselves, our women, our farm and our worship places against unconstitutional acts.
“Britain is responsible for the launching of Operation Python Dance II; they want to keep depopulating us and keep us under slavery to have unlimited access to our natural resources. Britain must be held responsible in advent of full blown war because we shall defend ourselves.
“The genocide being orchestrated by Britain in Biafra land; there is the need for other world leaders to beam their searchlight in Biafra as to bring Britain to justice. Since 1967; it has been this way but the end of the road is today.
“The Russian federation, USA under the leadership of just-Trump and Israel must make up for their silence between 1967 and 1970 genocide against the peaceful people of Biafra, they looked on while their precious and natural allies perished in the cold hands of Britain.
“We have moved on and mankind has moved on but never again shall we go back to 1967 monumental sheer wickedness against humanity. Biafra National Guard is ready to restore and defend the sovereign state of Biafra.
“Finally; Biafra National Guard uses this medium to call on Biafra political class to do what is essential because time is ticking and there must be accounting. The people of Biafra and her leadership must urgently support and pray for her military wing because BNG is the pride of the people and the backbone of the leadership of the people of Biafra under Nnamdi Kanu whom the people have chosen.

“If terrorists are caught and locked underground but immediately released by the Nigerian security of Hausa/Fulani and given amnesty by Nigerian government then continued detention of Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Maduka Mmadu, Bright Chimezie, Mrs Onyekachi Orji, Miss Okwudili Bassey, Sebastian Amadi, Uchenna Nicholas respectively in Abuja, Onitsha and Awka prisons is an act of hatred. They must be released because they have committed no crime.”

Christianity EtcRev Frs Mbaka, Obimma Supremacy Battle Gets Messier As Followers Join Attacks by marryjesus(op): 11:46am On Sep 12, 2017
The perceived battle between Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka of Adoration ministries Enugu, Nigeria and his counterpart, Rev Fr Obimma of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministries, Uke may have forced their members into the battle as followers of Obimma have replied a recent press statement by followers of Mbaka, attacking their priest (Obimma)

Recall that a news story on the internet weeks back credited to Father Obimma accused Mbaka of being fake and less relevant to Ndigbo than the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had been widely circulated.

In an earlier statement, followers of Mbaka had attacked Obimma, and accused him of being the fake priest among the two, insisting that he had secretly plotted the fall of Mbaka who they said has continued to wax stronger in his ministry despite secret attacks by Obimma.
This irked followers of Obimma who spoke to Akelicious, to call on Mbaka to rein in his followers as any further attack on Obimma would not be taken lightly. They insisted that Obimma could not have spoken ill of Mbaka who they insisted had respect for and always prayed for.
An official press release of followers of Obimma which was early today made available to Akelicious in Awka and signed by Mr Ifeanyi Nwankwo on behalf of concerned Parishioners and Christian Faithful of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministries Uke, Anambra which is owned by Obimma, the group attacked Mbaka’s followers and accused them of not making efforts to verify if the statement attributed to Obimma insinuating that Mbaka was fake had truly emanated from him (Obimma).
Part of the release reads, “I am taking pains to put forward this statement as my heart bleeds at the level of mischief some people would go to put the Roman Catholic Church to scorn.

“First, we feel we owe it a duty to our conscience to the Church, to the very innocent Ebube Muonso and to the Holy Spirit to refute with all sense of dignity the callous, malicious and orchestra defamation that have continued to emanate from those who are bent on running themselves into self destruct.
“As a Catholic Christian with strong foundation of faith, we are taught never to defame or speak evil of a priest of God and we take it without doubt that Mr. Sam Ukam and his fellow travelers who claim to be followers of Fr Mbaka are rather agents of the devil who are bent over on unleashing the gate of hell on the Catholic Church.
“We make bold to say that Ebube Muonso has never at any time or place spoken ill of his revered brother priest, Fr. Mbaka. If anything, he has spoken glowingly with unquestionable reverence of Fr Mbaka whom he often refers as the Elijah of our time. His love and respect for Mbaka and other Catholic priests are evident in his routine closing prayer after every crusade where he prays for the progress of all the Catholic ministries in Nigeria including that of Mbaka. This fact is evident in all the adoration tapes and write ups.
“Your story of Ebube Muonso calling Mbaka non prophetic and comparing him to Nnamdi Kanu the IPOB leader is only a figment of your doomed imagination. Ebube Muonso for your information is too occupied with spiritual things and would not enter into the politics of love, hate, popularity or affluence with any of his brother priests.

“You equally spoke of Ebube Muonso being jealous and plotting the downfall of Mbaka , your assertions are only laughable because you need to step into Holy Ghost Adoration ground, Uke to feel the weight of this proven man of God and know that such will never come into contemplation. For your hollow mind, Ebube Muonso even with his very years in priesthood has attained an inestimable height.
“His spiritual achievements are so awe inspiring and no amount of sponsored blackmail can quench the blistering flame of faith he has ignited in the church today. Go to his parish and see the power of the Holy Spirit at work. Again I know he is too busy and plain minded to stoop to any kind of competition with any of his brother priest not to talk of Fr Mbaka a person he holds in high regards.”
He also added that allegations that Obimma who is popularly known as Ebube Muonso is copying Mbaka was laughable. He questioned what law made it a crime to copy virtues . He challenged Okam who had earlier spoken on behalf of Mbaka’s followers to back his claims of Obimma copying Mbaka as he had earlier threatened, referring to him as a ‘jobless God forsaken bigots who claim to attend Catholic ministry in Enugu and yet are bent on putting the church on ridicule’.

PoliticsOyo Shuts Hatchery Over Bird Flu by marryjesus(op): 9:04pm On Sep 11, 2017
The Oyo State government says it has shut down a hatchery of NPG factory located at Oluyole Industrial estate in Ibadan, the state capital, over a suspected case of Avian flu, also known as Bird Flu.

Special Adviser to the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Agriculture, Professor Segun Adekunle, declared that the decision to shut the hatchery was due to the spread of the virus at NPG main factory in Ogun state, with the Oluyole farm as hatchery.

Adekunle it will be recalled had led a team to the hatchery after the Ogun state Ministry of Agriculture on September 6, 2017 raised the alarm of suspected case of Bird Flu in the main factory in Ogun State.
He said that the factory was shut in order to protect unsuspecting chicks’ buyers from spreading the virus.
He then urged residents of the state not to panic about the spread of disease, assuring that the state government will activate other containment measures based on the screening result.
“We got the hint from the Ogun state commissioner for Agriculture that there was the outbreak of Avian influenza at NPG factory in Egbeda area of the state. Knowing that the NPG factory has its factory in Oluyole local government, the NPG factory was visited yesterday with the Avian Flu desk, the Police among other concerned agencies.

“The Agric team with the Avian flu Desk office took samples of day old chicks and Chicken at the Factory to Vom in Jos, for laboratory tests, for confirmation and severity of the Virus strain, H5N8. The Lab at Vom, Jos, which is a federal government facility, will diagnose, screen and determine its threat status.
“Meanwhile, the hatchery has been shut from doing any business until; we get the results of the diagnosis. However, residents of the state should remain calm and not fear that there is an outbreak of epidemic in the state. The result will determine other containment measures to take”, he stated.

PoliticsAtiku Has Been Plotting Buhari’s Failure Since 2014 – Mohammed Lawal by marryjesus(op): 2:11pm On Sep 11, 2017
Former Deputy Director of the Buhari Presidential Campaign Council, Mohammed Lawal, has claimed that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has been plotting President Muhammadu Buhari’s failure because he lost the All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election to him in 2014.

Lawal, who is a Director on the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, made the allegation while dismissing Abubakar’s claim that Buhari used and dumped him after the 2015 presidential election.

Abubakar had alleged that the Buhari-led Government had sidelined him after using his resources and contacts to win the 2015 election.

In his reaction, Lawal stressed that the former Vice President neither campaigned nor contributed “anything” towards Buhari’s election in 2015.

Speaking yesterday, Lawal maintained that Buhari has been fair to Abubakar, adding that a lot of the former Vice president’s loyalists were holding positions in the current government.

He said, “We know that right from the time Buhari was sworn in, Atiku started plotting to cause problem, to ensure that this administration does not succeed.

“During the campaign, he granted an interview to BBC and said he was sure APC would not win the presidential election.

“He was making preparations that if APC did not win, he will go back to PDP and get the ticket after ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s projected exit in 2019.

“Immediately after the presidential primaries, Atiku left the country. He did not come back. All along, while we were prosecuting the presidential campaign, Atiku was not in Nigeria. He did not participate in the presidential campaign.

“After the presidential election, he came to congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and left the country. He is complaining now that he was not contacted.

“I served as a Deputy Director at the Presidential Campaign Council.

“ I knew all the intrigues. Atiku fought Buhari tooth and nail. He was extremely unhappy about the loss of presidential primaries.

“He did not campaign for Buhari during the election. He even refused to contribute any money. He promised to campaign and to contribute to the campaign. He did not contribute anything meaningful.

“ Let him say how much he spent. How much did he claim he spent? Is his money more important than his appearance at the campaign? He spent all the money he thinks he has to ensure that Buhari did not win.

“People are not foolish. He told the BBC in 2015 that he was sure that Buhari was not going to win. So, will somebody who did not believe in the party’s candidate spend anything?

“And out of magnanimity, Buhari’s first outing from Abuja, after winning the election, was to attend Atiku’s daughter’s wedding.

“There are many Atiku loyalists in this government and he is saying that he has been sidelined. She (Women Affairs Minister Aisha Alhassan) and other Atiku loyalists were given appointment because of Atiku. They know themselves. And Atiku is saying nothing has been given to him. At least the principal appointment given to Atiku went to Aisha as the Minister of Women Affairs.

“To be candid with you, Atiku started fighting Buhari since 2015. They just came out now because they were choked up; they did not get any reaction from him. They thought he was going to start fighting, abusing and dealing mercilessly with the opposition in government.”
