Facebook user, Emmanuel Maduka Nwazue, who shared the story online wrote: It's past 11pm, I started hearing some crowd noise downstairs with periodic shout of "Aaamen" as the crowd responded with same chorus, "Aaamen." I picked up my phone and called someone who simply told me to come down and see for myself. It was a mob and in their midst was this young man whose images you view. He was found with so many fetish items which included 23 locked and some smashed padlocks of different sizes, daga, concoction etc. This guy had his two sons as well as his mother die mysteriously and his wife run away. This he confirmed while fielding questions. Answering my questions on what he does with the padlocks he said they were for protection. But that was far from the truth as he later confessed to locking up his fellow trader at the timber market with two of the padlocks. The man's undoing was that he gave him goods worth 3.5 million naira to which he paid only N1m and decided to cage the man from asking for his balance of N2.5m. He went ahead to name a certain trader known as Ngige at the timber market as having contracted him to cage other traders in the market. There we saw padlocks tied severally with black and white treads as well as chains. His victims were very many as he started naming them one after another. At this point, the mob got angrier and were baying for his blood and to avoid what was about taking place, I had to call the state PPRO who dispatched some policemen to the scene. To think that the young man was the same person I always meet in a nearby pharmacy where I get some household items is terrifying. He looked gentle and harmless as we often exchanged pleasantries.

Real Madrid forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has made it clear he will not pay the money he has been accused of defrauding the Spanish taxman. Ronaldo is reportedly ready to quit Real Madrid, after being accused of tax fraud over a sum of €14.7m (£12.9m) between 2011 and 2014. Reports on Wednesday claimed the Portugal captai, had agreed to pay the sum in order to reduce fines and a possible prison sentence. However, the agency representing the player, Gestifute, has denied the suggestions to Spanish agency, EFE. Although an upfront payment would prevent him from defending himself against the accusations, Ronaldo is apparently not ready to take the option. Real president Florentino Perez, this week came out to publicly back the player.

But the IPOB in its response threatened that Osinbajo will end up a failure if he continues his remarks against IPOB.

A coffin with human remains was found in a wooden structure on a plot of land at Adenta, near Accra, Ghana. Speaking to Ghana Yenson on Accra100.5FM on Monday, June 19, the owner of the plot, one Kwame, narrated how he gave the plot to the occupant of the wooden structure, one Martin, following a plea to him by his friend to allow him put up a temporary structure on the property for lodging. In January 2017, Kwame said he asked Martin to vacate the plot since he wanted to develop the land, but Martin refused, threatening to kill him and take over the land. Kwame added that he and his family decided to put up a wall around the plot to save it from encroachment, while also deciding to uproot a Neem tree that was on the land. But when the tree was uprooted, Kwame and his family realised to their shock that a coffin full of human bones had been buried on the property.

A four magnitude earthquake triggered Tsunami off the coast of Greenland, leading residents to flee for dear life. A dramatic footage has now been released showing the extent of damage done by the natural disaster. A woman filmed the scene as houses floated into the sea and debris scattered across the floor on Saturday. Four people are reportedly missing after the tsunami hit the tiny village, nine people are believed to be injured, with two of them in critical condition. 11 houses were also swept away. Some residents posted images to social media showing huge waves breaking over buildings in the town. Residents have been evacuated according to the local broadcaster KNR, after the four magnitude earthquake struck off Uummannaq, a small island above the Arctic Circle. Police confirmed the incident, saying: "The huge waves risk breaking over Upernavik and its environs. The residents of Nuugaatsiaq are going to be evacuated." Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said it was a "terrible natural catastrophe at Nuugaatsiaq." Meterologist Trine Dahl Jensen told Danish news agency Ritzausaid: "It's not normal, such a large quake in Greenland." Luckily, no one has been reported dead though police say they cannot rule out the possibility of that at this stage.

There are about 1,500 people trapped in the Filipino town of Marawi which has been besieged by Isis linked terrorists. Almost 100 people have escaped on foot while others escape by swimming across the river. Some Muslim women, in order to help Christians escape the terrorists, have given them their hijabs to use in disguising themselves. Those who made it out of the besieged town alive are attended to by Medics and one of them has recounted the experience as told by the lucky escapees. “Some of the stories that stuck were Muslims helping protect Christian workers by letting them borrow a hijab,” said Dr Gioia Ancheta, head of the psychosocial therapy team. It was revealed that civilians trapped in the town, which is about 60 miles south of Cagayan de Oro, are being held as human shields and are also under attack from bombing assaults by the military who are trying to oust the jihadists. The civilians also face starvation. There are reports that some local residents are so hungry they had “started to eat their blankets”, according to local politician Zia Alonto Adiong, who is managing the relief and rescue efforts. “Some residents are eating (cardboard) boxes. They just dip it in water to soften the material and eat it,” he said. Islamic militants stormed Marawi three weeks ago, leaving 290 people dead, including 205 Isis fighters, 58 soldiers and 26 civilians.

A Spanish youth coach is sacked after his team wins 25-0 15 Jun Many Spanish youth clubs are said to stop counting once the scoreline reaches double digits The coach of a Spanish youth team has been sacked after a 25-0 win - because the club's management decided the margin of victory went against the spirit of the game. After defeating fellow Valencia side Benicalap C on 3 June, Serranos B's under-11 manager was removed from his position. "We believe in encouraging respect for your opponents. After the result, we decided that the manager should leave," Pablo Alcaide, who helps run the side, told El Pais. However, the Spanish newspaper also published comments from the manager's lawyer, who insisted his client had not pushed players to score as many as they could. The manager instead instructed his side "to pressure only in their own half" in the eight-a-side game, but Benicalap C "continued to attack and left spaces in behind", the lawyer said. The game was Benicalap C's final match of the season. They finished bottom of the league with zero points and 247 goals conceded from their 30 matches. El Pais reports that such one-sided scores are not infrequent in Spanish youth football, but many clubs stop counting once they have scored more than 10 goals. The English FA's latest guidance to youth coaches, published in 2012, is designed to "challenge the win- at-all-costs mentality that is stifling development and enjoyment for young people". |
