Today June 7th is the 2nd anniversary of the death of football coach, Stephen Keshi. The quintessential football coach died suddenly in Benin city in 2016.

His son, Stephen Jnr took to his IG page to pay him glowing tribute as he remembers him

I miss him, we miss him, wish he could be here in the physical to meet Grayson but I know he’s here in the spiritual. Comedian Helen Paul is sure making her stance known in the faceoff between singer Falz and some Muslims who are angry that he used ladies wearing Hijab to dance Shaku Shaku in his new music video ”This is Nigeria”.

A New Jersey woman committed suicide by climbing onto a bridge and jumping off it on Sunday. What’s disturbing is that onlookers laughed as she climbed the bridge to take her life.

The unnamed woman is seen in the video climbing the Arch Street Bridge Patterson, New Jersey. Some onlookers tried to call for her to come down but a number of people can be heard laughing and joking about it. Probably they thought she was pulling a stunt. But she wasn’t.

She soon jumps off the bridge into the Passaic River below just before 4:30 p.m. and the waves of laughter from onlookers turned into a gasp of horror.

The woman was later pronounced dead at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.

According to USA Today, “Police found the body of a woman who jumped off a bridge at the lower end of Haledon Avenue in Paterson on Sunday afternoon.”

Paterson police received a phone call around 4:15 p.m. that a woman had climbed on to the top of the bridge and had jumped, said police director Jerry Speziale. Her body was found in the Passaic River near Holsman Street later Sunday.

Singer, Ruby Gyang, is one artiste who has managed to be relevant in her career, despite her status as a single mother. Recall that the singer has a daughter with rapper, Jesse Jagz.

Sharing her motherhood experience, Gyang said,

“There is really no formula to it; I just do it. I take it one day at a time and I make sure that every day, I tackle whatever I need to. By God’s grace, I have been able to get by. It’s not like I have a manual that I consult every time before taking decisions. It could be tough at times but I always manage to pull through.”

Maintaining that she doesn’t do the job of parenting alone, she said,

“Jesse Jagz is very much involved in the life of our daughter; so, it’s not like I’m doing it alone. We have a balanced relationship and we bring up our daughter in a healthy way.”

Ruby also doesn’t agree that Nigerians artistes aren’t socially conscious. She said,

“I think that artistes are trying in terms of being socially conscious. Some do it directly, while others do it indirectly; whether they’re singing about love or the country. Inasmuch as you are putting positivity out there, it’s all in that direction. I feel that we have a decent number of Nigerian artistes doing well in that regard. When people listen to pop music, I don’t think they are necessarily looking to hear socially-conscious lyrics. Rather, they just want to dance, party and basically have a good time. Because pop music is more dominant, it could seem like there are no conscious songs but if you listen to artistes such as Brymo, Bez and me, you would find that we always try to be positive. We also involve ourselves in causes that would be beneficial to the people and help humanity.”

On whether she has ever been tempted to change her style of music to be more successful commercially, Gyang said,

“Yes, that pressure is always there, especially when you see that people that do a certain type of music receive all the accolades. However, I feel that there is room for every kind of artiste and music. You just need to have the courage and patience to push your craft. I have a quarterly concert tagged ‘O Live’ which is held in Lagos and Abuja. The second edition holds in June. I am really excited about it because I feel that as a live performing artiste, you need your own platform to truly express yourself.”

Amber Rose, 34, flaunted her eye-popping assets in a turquoise and orange swimsuit top while posing poolside for a photoshoot.

The curvy model and mother-of-one, who went under the knife to have breast reduction surgery in January opened up about the surgery in an interview with People posted on Wednesday.

According to her, ‘My boobs slowed me down,’ she said of her natural 36H cup size. ‘It was almost as if I had like a heavy backpack on my chest.’

Amber who went from a 36H bra size to a 36DDD also revealed that she decided to get the procedure done after three years of prevaricating.

‘I was scared that I wouldn’t feel sexy anymore, but it got to the point where I literally was in pain,’ she said

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi’s husband, musician Olubankole Wellington aka Banky W has revealed how he overcame his battle with cancer before his wedding.

The EME boss, who was just made the ambassador for Pink Oak Trust, said God and availability of sufficient funds saw him through his battle with the killer disease.

His words:-

“Many people know about my own battles with cancer. I’m forever grateful to God that I am alive and well, and that I was able to fund the treatment I needed.

Unfortunately, over 90,000 Nigerians die every year due to cancer. This is simply because they can’t afford to fight it. Treatment is expensive and so many people die because they’re just unable to pay for surgery, pills, chemo etc.

That has to change, and the more of us that contribute, the better. It would be great if one person donated N100 million. But it would be just as great, and even more powerful, if one million people gave N100 each.”

For popular singer, YQ who was reportedly engaged early this year, there is no competition between him and Wizkid.

The singer in a chat with Saturday Beats noted that although Wizkid is a young chap, he has been in the industry for a long while.

He was quick to recall that he and Wizkid were both featured on rap artiste, MI’s album, ‘Talk about it.’ In his words, ‘the sky is too vast for all birds to fly’.

The singer said,

“The likes of Davido, Wizkid and Tekno are not my competitors. Even Wizkid is not a new kid. The year MI featured me on his album, Wizkid was also featured on the same album. I was featured on the song ‘Area’ while Wizkid was on the song, ‘Fast money fast cars.’ He is a young chap but he has been in the industry for long; so there is no competition among us. If you believe in yourself, the sky is vast for all birds.”

The last time the singer had a trending song was in 2015 when he released the song, ‘Tear rubber,’ ever since then, not much has been heard from him and he stated why.

“As I am growing up, I want to take care of my family, my parents and younger ones. I now have more responsibilities. I also want to venture into other businesses and that is why I took about two years break from music. I wanted to map out a fallback plan because I would not do music forever. Family responsibility did not affect my music; nothing can affect my music. I am not married but I have people that I take care of. Also, it takes a lot of money to promote songs and that is why I reduced the way I put out music,” YQ said.

For those who follow American Hip-hop, it’s no longer news that two heavyweights – Canadian Rapper Drake and American Rapper, Pusha are currently locking horns in a much publicized rap beef.

Well Pusha T has just made a damning revelation about the God’s plan rapper- DRAKE

Pusha T went straight for Drake’s jugular in a newly released diss track … taking shots at Drizzy’s childhood, alleging he’s got a secret son and releasing a photo of a young Drake with blackface.

In the track, titled, “The Story of Adidon” — mixed over the beat for Jay-Z’s “The Story of O.J.” — Push raps, “You are hiding a child, let that boy come home, deadbeat motherf*****.”

Pusha T drops Drake’s alleged kid’s name, saying, “Adonis is your son and he deserves more than an Adidas press run” and targets the baby mama, who he calls “Sophie” … “Love that baby, respect that girl. Forget she’s a porn star, let her be your world.”

The new track is a response to Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle” released earlier this week targeting Pusha T and Kanye.

Push touches on Drake’s race too, saying, “Confused always felt you weren’t black enough, afraid to grow it because your fro wasn’t nap enough.”
