Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of the state, recommends Oborevwori as his preferred candidate.

Oborevwori Sheriff, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has been recognized by the Supreme Court as the appropriate candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Justice Tijani Abubakar upheld the Court of Appeal's judgment of August 29, 2022, in her ruling on Friday, October 21, 2022.

David Edevbie's appeal was also turned down by the judge because it lacked merit.

Edevbie, who received 113 votes in the party's primary election, was defeated by Oborevwori, who received 590 votes.

During the administration of James Ibori, Edevbie served as the commissioner for finance.

While Oborevwori is the preferred candidate of the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, it is believed that the former governor of the state, Ibori, is supporting Edevbie.

In March 2022, the festival began to highlight daring storytellers.

The Annual Film Mischief festival’s second edition, scheduled for 2023, has been confirmed by its organizers.

The festival’s 2023 edition, with the theme “ShootTheCulture,” will continue its mission to bring passionate short film fans and creators from all over Africa to the city of Lagos, Nigeria.Similar to the inaugural festival, which primarily featured films of Nigerian descent, this one will also feature films from across Africa.

Chukwu Martin, founder of TAFM confirmed the festival’s new edition in a statement. “In March 2022, we launched The Annual Film Mischief to shine the spotlight on filmmakers daring to tell stories with unique narratives and styles. The average African filmmaker comes from humble beginnings and though there will be limited resources, there will never be limits to creativity, hence our theme – ‘Less is More’. It was a call to action to reach beyond financial limitations and dig into the abundant well of creativity.”

The press release states that domestic and international feature and short films will be selected for the festival.Filmmakers are encouraged to submit entries early enough through TAFM’s filmfreeway page at no cost for the 2023 edition of The Annual Film Mischief, which will officially open on November 1, 2022.

Other directors whose films were shown at the previous event went on to win awards at local and international film festivals.Olabode Izy, whose film “The Samaritan” won the Audience Cheese Pick at the festival the year before, went on to win awards at Realtime International Film Festival and Cuckoo International Film Awards.
Owen Olowu’s “Songs of Ubong,” which won the TAFM Grand Cheese Prize, Reflections Winner, and Best Screenplay, award-winning “Eyimofe” by Chuko & Ari Esiri, which opened the festival, and Paul Utomi’s “Country Hard,” which provided an excellent conclusion, are two additional notable titles from the inaugural TAFM.
