Politics › Gunmen kidnap 46 people in Zamfara community by MasterJayJay(op): 7:10am On Jan 08, 2025 |
No fewer than 46 persons, including women and children, have been kidnapped in Gana town in Zamfara State.
According to residents, the attack took place around 10pm on Sunday.
No official confirmation yet about the attack from the authorities, but a traditional leader in the community, Alhaji Garba Haure, told Reuters that dozens of gunmen on motorbike invaded the community and set fire to several homes and businesses, residents said.
“We have 46 men, women and children that have been abducted altogether, and are still counting,” Haure said.
He said the quick intervention of government security forces prevented the assailants from setting the entire town ablaze, adding that no life was lost in the attack.
But another resident, Bala Harauma, told Reuters that the actual number of abducted people could be higher.
“Six people managed to escape while the armed gang moved the captives in the early hours of Monday,” Harauma said.
Another resident, Yusuf Mohammed, explained that the bandits set ablaze dozens of houses and silos containing foodstuff.
The Northwest has been experiencing a severe security crisis, with terrorist and bandit groups wreaking havoc on local communities. These groups have been responsible for a multitude of violent attacks, resulting in significant loss of life and widespread kidnappings.

Family › Nigerian Doctor Shares How A Toddler Died After Putting A Charger In Her Mouth by MasterJayJay(op): 5:32pm On Jan 07, 2025 |
A mother put her toddler's favorite channel on the TV, left her there, and went to tidy up the kitchen. Once she was done, she returned to the living room to play with her daughter but couldn't find her.
She called out her name, but there was no response. She became a bit worried, quickly checked the rooms, and went outside to see if her daughter had snuck out through the front door, as she had just learned to open locks.
She couldn't find her outside either. Panic began to set in. She kept calling her name and started searching the rooms again. That was when she saw her lying on the ground, hidden by the bed.
She rushed to her side and saw that she had the end of her phone charger in her mouth, while the other end was still plugged into the socket. Quickly, she unplugged the socket and rushed her unresponsive baby to the hospital.
Sadly, the wire the baby put in her mouth, had exposed areas. Tragically, she was pronounced dead on arrival. Please, after reading this, unplug any charger or extension cord that is not actively charging a device.
I don't just mean turning off the switch (there's still a risk of electrocution)- UNPLUG! Use socket covers, because children will still help plug in what you've unplugged.

emkz: Dear Atiku, Peter Obi claimed his family and himself were threatened. Did you even bother to ask him what kind of threats were issued?
You are a statesman. Act like one and call for calm, not make fiery comments for political expediency. Hush!! Threats were obvious in the words used by Felix Morka, unless you choose to be blind to it. Even AI can spot the threat. Question: Is there a threat in this message?
'I am not somebody to go on the offensive in that manner, but Mr Obi has crossed the line so many times and I think that at this point he has coming to him, whatever he gets, he needs to manage it.'
AI: Yes, there is a veiled threat in this message. While it doesn't contain explicit language, the tone and phrasing imply a warning or a prediction of consequences for Mr. Obi's actions. The phrase "he has coming to him, whatever he gets" suggests that the speaker believes Mr. Obi will face repercussions or retaliation for his behavior. The overall tone is one of indignation and a sense of justification for potential consequences.
Question: Could it be a threat of assassination?
AI: While the message doesn't explicitly mention assassination or physical harm, it's possible to interpret it as a veiled threat of severe consequences, including physical harm or even assassination.
The phrase "whatever he gets, he needs to manage it" could be seen as a euphemistic way of suggesting that Mr. Obi will face severe repercussions, potentially even violence.
However, without more context or information about the speaker's intentions, it's difficult to determine the exact nature of the threat. Law enforcement or authorities may need to investigate further to assess the credibility and severity of the threat.
Question: The writer of the statement works for a ruling party, currently governing the country. Mr Obi is a member of an opposition party.
What are the implications of the statement?
AI: The statement's implications are quite serious, especially given the context of Nigerian politics. With the writer being part of the ruling party and Mr. Obi belonging to an opposition party, the statement can be seen as a threat to Mr. Obi's safety and a form of intimidation.
In a democratic system, opposition parties play a crucial role in holding the ruling party accountable and providing alternative perspectives. However, in Nigeria, the opposition has faced significant challenges, including weakened institutions and a lack of effective checks on the ruling party's power.
The statement's tone and language suggest a sense of hostility and aggression towards Mr. Obi and the opposition party. This kind of rhetoric can contribute to a toxic political environment, where opposition voices are silenced or intimidated.
Furthermore, the statement may be seen as a form of psychological warfare, aimed at demoralizing the opposition and undermining their confidence. This can have far-reaching implications for the health of Nigeria's democracy and the ability of opposition parties to participate in the political process ².
Overall, the statement's implications are disturbing and highlight the need for greater accountability, transparency, and respect for opposition voices in Nigerian politics. |

Crossed the line??an APC official threatened Peter Obi and the security agencies haven’t said anything. If it was another person that threatened, the security forces will be active. Point out the lie in Peter Obi’s new year day message— the opposition is meant to hold the government accountable!
The same APC criticized, organized many protests now don’t want to be criticized.Hahahahaha
The same government said food prices will come down in 180days they failed.
Who told APC they crossed the line as opposition when they organized protests.
The president promised 10m hectares of cultivation? Where’s the result
I remember when I interviewed Mr Morka I told him empirically the government has failed. He should come for more interviews and I will tell him to his face. APC has failed.
People that never believed in this government are now in government. They say to people every time they know things are wrong but they will stay on. These people are called AGIPs ( Any government in Power). I tell them to speak the truth always. https://x.com/ruffydfire
