Some houses have been built as far back as 20/25yrs ago and the landlord still uses this same line. Some don't even renovate their houses yet they keep increasing the rent every year. It shouldn't be so.

The Kano State Censorship Board has suspended popular Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, from appearing in films for one year.

The board said the suspension followed complaints from concerned citizens about her "revealing dress and provocative videos."

In a statement issued by Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, Information Officer of the Kano State Censorship Board, the board revealed that Samha had been warned multiple times about her "crude dressing, vulgar displays, and language in her some videos."

The board emphasised that the actress' conduct had violated cultural and moral standards.

In addition to the suspension, the board has revoked Samha's licence and ceased censoring any films in which she appears.

"Kano State Censorship Board is empowered by law to ensure that all videos, writings, and other forms of expression align with the state's religion, culture, norms, and values," the statement explained.

The board claimed that the suspension is part of the board’s ongoing efforts to uphold moral standards in the Kannywood film industry and enforce the board's regulations.

Unknown gunmen on New Year’s day attacked Unguwar Rogo in Ugom community of Maro ward, Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State.


The Chairman of the Ugom Progressive Union, Ishaya Onussim, in a statement explained that the attackers vandalised properties, stole various farm products, burnt down six houses, and set the ECWA Church in Unguwar Rogo ablaze after looting valuables from the church and its pastorium.

Following the attack by the gunmen, he said, “all the residents fled into the bushes, abandoning their belongings in a bid to save their lives.”


He appealed to governments at all levels to intervene urgently, saying that it was disheartening for people to face such an incident so early in the year.

He also called for urgent steps by the authorities to ensure the presence of security.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Kaduna Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, could not be reached to comment on the incident.
