The church we have today has far deviated from what it used to be in the Bible times.

You don't even have to torture anyone, simple logic helps in a case like this.

Secure the scene, interview everyone that came in contact with the body, take pictures of the crime scene and surrounding areas, collect necessary evidence from the scene including any that might include DNA. Dust for fingerprints etc

Its not that hard. A simple thing such as figuring out the position the body was found and the direction the gun faced in relation to the bullet holes in his body starts the process of elimination (of suspects) faster. The position of the Blood splatter from the victim can also help determine what happened. Does the Nigerian police know if the victim was right handed or left handed? Did they bother to check the door knobs, light switches, railings etc for fingerprints to determine who was in the residence with him prior to his assassination? Did they check under his fingernails for DNA evidence; probably a struggle ensued before he was killed? It is possible. Knowing the Nigerian Police though, they probably just contaminated the whole scene on arrival and came with buckets of water to wash off the blood thereby destroying potential evidence.

This is a simple case that could be solved by a rookie if he has the proper equipment and training.

It's not always true, someone can blackmail u by threatening to lay false accusations on u if u refuse to oblige to his or her demands. Eg threatening to accuse u of rape or defame your character, especially when the accusers side of the story would be easily believed by the public.

Seriously, I've been silent on this issue.
But from the little that I can decipher from this ongoing case:
The Stephanie girl might be saying the truth, But if this is not really about blackmail and defamation of personality as Suleiman has put it, what is she demanding money to the sum of N500m for? Why holding media conference and publicizing the whole issue? If she has a case why don't she sue the pastor and have a fair hearing in court? I don't understand all these media frenzy if it's not blackmail.
From some of the videos of the press conference that I've seen, her body language doesn't depict someone sad, hurt, that was taken advantage of, nor someone really hurt trying to find justice but rather someone enjoying the media spotlight and bent on getting cheap popularity from this saga.
Also for the past few days, her allegation has shifted from false marriage and marriage proposal to forced abortion and attempted murder. Her ardent supporters avoid the questions thrown on them about the marriage, it's attendees, location, pictures, videos, witnesses etc. But crucifying the pastor on mere hear say accusations of bank transfers, oversea trips etc. For God sake if she wanna get justice let her go to a competent court and get one, not on the media. We are tired of seeing this sh!t on nairaland
