Benz4pimp:You mean all this happened and Lagosians have kept mute all along? Why coming out to say it now? Gleaned from the above claim is the fact that the fear of 'TINUBU' is the begining of wisdom for the people of Lagos state. Take it or leave it, JAGABAN is the man behind the mask! And, should things continue same way I will say that even Lagos that many gave credit in the past can rightly be adjudged too immature for democratic practices. Because say JAGABAN don pass verdict make everybody shout ole ontop AMBODE head forgetting say even JAGABAN himself do pass anybody for naija abi....It is well. |
PVision2020:Imagine your reasoning sir "that it happens before doesn't give credibility to it happening now" chai! |
Going by these figures, there is a clearer indication for one to say that rigging is sure come 2019. If by the conduct of a mere primary election capable only of party delegates and the APC as a ruling party is bold enough to write out the above figures which obviously does not exists anywhere then I smell greater danger for our democracy. Truth be told, APC is the worse thing that has ever happened to Nigeria. The figures presented are full of sophistry, half truth and falsehood. Yes! agreed that PMB is the best candidate for APC and that he stands unopposed but what has the increase in figures got to do for the APC as a party? I mean, its high time we learn to tell ourselves the bitter truth. Lagos they say is 1.9 Million votes for Mr. Integrity in a primary election haba...Is Baba fighting himself again? In any case, whether PMB is returned come 2019 all I know is that whatever has a begining surely must have an end and the reign of PMB will definitely come to an end one day shikena! |
Obviously the court was right. To allow for a total recount at the earliest stage of the petition would be tantamount to a situation of "fishing for evidence". I agree with the learned judge that the right of inspection is what can obtain not a recount in the circumstance. The ratio of the court is clear given the state of the petitioner's pleadings more so that it appeared they failed to claim that it was the totality of the polling units that were inescapably affected so as to be entitled to their onerous prayer of a recount before the trial proper. On the whole, it is trite law that parties are entitled to inspection of election materials as used i.e ballot paper (not a recount) in the circumstances of this case wherein a part (not whole) is been challenged of the votes casts. Conclusively, I think the PDP can do better. |

fiizznation:Chai! insults such as these aren't good for a very simple message. We know you have prided yourself as Mr. President's die-heart supporter reason why you should respect people's opinion especially on highly sensitive issues. I am convinced that even the president will not react to the above claim in like manners. To help you understand the message, the quarrel is that why using bots to attack him? if you are well read and educated and up-to-date, i strongly believe that by now you should know much about bots or better still, consult your browser before doing this. What i am saying here is that bots are of different categories. It is much possible that the bot in question is that capable of maligning. Just to assist you sir- "An internet bot, also known as web robot, WWW robot or simply bot, is a software application that runs automated tasks (scripts) over the Internet. Typically, bots perform tasks that are both simple and structurally repetitive, at a much higher rate than would be possible for a human alone. The largest use of bots is in web spidering (web crawler), in which an automated script fetches, analyzes and files information from web servers at many times the speed of a human. More than half of all web traffic is made up of bots." {See wikipedia} As pointed out earlier, the said bot could be capable of maligning vide same authority thus; "A malicious use of bots is the coordination and operation of an automated attack on networked computers, such as a denial-of-service attack by a botnet. Internet bots can also be used to commit click fraud and more recently have seen usage around MMORPG games as computer game bots...A spambot is an internet bot that attempts to spam large amounts of content on the Internet, usually adding advertising links. More than 94.2% of websites have experienced a bot attack. There are malicious bots (and botnets) of the following types: 1. Spambots that harvest email addresses from contact or guestbook pages 2. Downloader programs that suck bandwidth by downloading entire websites 3. Website scrapers that grab the content of websites and re-use it without permission on automatically generated doorway pages 4. Viruses and worms 5. DDoS attacks; and to wit- 6. Botnets, zombie computers, etc. - See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_bot#Malicious_bots for more details. conclusively, it is important to state that Bots may be used on internet forums to automatically post inflammatory or nonsensical posts to disrupt the forum and anger users. Thank you! |
Honestly, I find it legally objectionable for Linda Ikeji to act in this manner. An allegation is never a conclusive prove more so that the allegation is predicated on rape. Worse still, making a public show of Ukpaa's sack is like standing taller than the accuser herself! I will not be surprised to hear sooner than later that Linda Ikeji has personal interest in this matter because it appears to me that she's acting like the Pharisees whose holiness is limited to the sacrificial gifts on the altar setting aside the relevance of the altar that makes the gifts acceptable to God. Linda Ikeji should have at least restricted the sack message of her victim to herself and immediate staff not the general public. I am not defending the suspect but I think it's high time Nigerians learn to do things the proper way. Linda Ikeji is not a court of law and as such has no legal backing to so hold. No matter the offence Ukpaa stands innocent until the contrary is proved in a competent court of law. Showing public sympathy for a victim who only alleges rape against another is not the way to go. Linda Ikeji has more than a hundred and one way to better react to the said allegation but not a public sack that clearly declares the suspect a rapist. |
The problem with APC is that the said party lacks ideological base. The same challenge facing most political parties in Nigeria safe for the PDP that has successfully managed its but that is not to suggest or say that the PDP as part of the major political parties like APC has a compete ideology. Perhaps, this is the major reason why the APC seems not to be performing because claiming to be progressives without the spirit of what can obtain therewith is no progress at all! |
Many a times I wonder the class of the Nigerian police. How can they prefer a charge on non-existent law. I mean, is there any law in Nigeria that recognizes the use of charm or juju as an offence rendering same provable? Besides, mobile app which falls under our electronic evidence can better be governed by the Evidence Act which is provable to an extent as oppose to the charge of charm. If the charm charge fails in the circumstance then every other charge will bow just like that. Chai! Nigerian police force and insensitive or unintelligible prosecution of cases na wen e go end! |
Jesusloveyou:. Please where are u from? |
Ekiti360:This APC government na so so scam! Which one be 'Maintenance Economy' nau? Has this government built any structure or improve on the existing economy to warrant this statement of maintenance. I tire for this people gon sef! |
olasco18:WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? Nigeria is now a typical example of modern day slavery. Yet, the vast majority of her population find it untrue to believe what this country is all about. First, we find it untrue to know that politicians cannot and will never give us what we deserve. Secondly, we find it very untrue to know that it has always been the strategy of politicians to punish us with hunger so as to reduce us to nothing even when we know deep down our mind that we can be better of. I listened to Dr. Mathew Hassan Kukah to know that many of our first class graduates are for companies to use, prey upon to try their own profit motives; out second class have been relegated to the class rooms meant for the former. While the third class are everywhere in politics, the fourth class products are topical of the "controllers of those that are in power". If we understand these assertion, then, we must learn to forget the politics of the north. The north has done us plenty evil. Imagine this crowd in spite of PMB's failure both past and present. This is the politics of the north- ' make the people go hungry, take everything including their destiny, dignity and pride, show them to the dust, then wait to see them come to you to beg for their daily daily bread'. Yes! I am presently in Enugu State where the government is working but hardly will you find an Igbo person begging the government for bread. The people in Enugu (eastern part of Nigeria), are self employed, they don't gather to welcome anybody that will give them a days bread and tomorrow they go hungry! I am from Kogi State, but of the truth, Igbo people have gone ahead ahead. They are now interested in that man that will teach them how to bake bread (not a bread giver). #Shameonthecorenorth! |
Hmm! May the good Lord have mercy on their souls.(Amen). If this happens in this part of the planet, it won't be regarded as an accident. Dem go say their village people dey at work abi! |
" elhafeez:This is a pointer to one of the very reason why Nigeria will never improve on the conduct of elections. Here we are using past wrongs to justify a another wrong. I mean, two wrongs can never make a right! The APC promised Nigerians a better chance (not negativities) but today, they even turn out to be the worst. I strongly believe that PDP can go to court on this and from the eye witnessed reports, those results were manipulated and a such the burden of proving their case is no difficulty. Thank God for the provisions of the Evidence Act on electronically generated evidence, APC must have shut themselves on the foot. It is a disgrace for the so called APC to do this. May God forgive them! |
With profound respect to the learned senior advocate, the legal opinion is short-through, full of half truth and sophistry. Agreed, section 67 favours the president in that it is within the discretion of the president to attend meetings of the National Assembly. But, that is on a fairer note because what is in contention here is not that the president cannot attend a meeting of the legislative chamber. The issue therefore, is whether the Senate has the power to summon any person in Nigeria? Submissively, by the provision of section 88 of the 1999 CFRN (As amended), it is trite that the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY (in this case, the Senate), has the power to summon any person and can even issue summons, warrants and conduct investigation. It is should be noted that this provision tells more of the suggestive principle of separation of powers to the extent that it is not strictus- senso total separation as the three arms have similarities in the exercise of their powers. Accordingly, while the legislature has power similar to that of a court of law (the judiciary) in this respect, there are also such other powers exercisable by the executive wherefore it's sub-agents can summon any person i.e which arm appoints heads of government departments such as the IG of Police who also issue summons, conduct similar investigations, issue warrant and carryout arrests amongst other things. I rest my case! |
The situation here presents us with one of those difficulty usually encountered in attempt to prove the crime of rape. For instance, it is the law that one must show actual penetration of the Virgina coupled with consent to ground the offence of rape. But, it is often difficult to prove the latter element (I.e the mental element) than not. Thus, how do we know that the consent is given or not given? After all, in the female world, it is very easy to mean no when they actually meant yes! Here, the lady only got to realise herself after having sex; why? This can obtain from the report gathered. On the whole, let's see the out come of the case. |
This is quite disappointing because even a professor of law has rendered himself cheap over a penny matter that requires nothing but a legal blow. How can prof. Sagay of all people be guilty of fallacy. By the above statement of the learned silk, he has made himself a living offering; attacking the person order than the issue - argumentum ad hominem! Abi the man no sabi the law again? Simple objectivity no even dey for the analysis fa. Haba Dan buhari! |
It is painful to say this but I find it most appropriate now to accept the allegation that the activities of the present administration with respect to its actions and inactions is the height of disobedience for the rule of law in the entire history of our democracy. Why the IG finds it most comfortable to refuse the summon for a third time is unimaginable. This is the same person that holds one of the most strategic security post in the country refusing to be accountable to the same people he claims to serve. May God help us. |
No be small thing! |
