It is only in this country that you will see things like this- people trying so hard to prevent justice. In a nutshell, the writer is simply saying that since Wole Olanipekun SAN has contributed so much to the development of the legal profession such as registering the Nigerian Bar Association to a known status of trusteeship and facilitating the official seal and stamp for lawyers as we may now have it today, it is therefore wrong to investigate him or seek his removal or suspension as the chairman of the highest governing body of lawyers (the Body of Benchers -BOB). For me, Olumide Akpata took the right step insisting that the petition against the Chairman is ripe and must be attended to. It is enough to say that what is good for the goose is good for the gander! |
Just imagine! We intentionally inflict suffering on ourselves for no just cause. What a state we are! |

A very selfish man ! To use the word “selfish” is perhaps an understatement because this is one of the few people in this country who ordinarily have no business in governance but were brought into the system to facilitate the process of siphoning our common wealth as a nation. This man knows that only an Owomida government can make him stand out among his kinsmen and that is why he keeps supporting evil. With all the hardships going on in Lagos and every other parts of the country, this is all his got to say - ‘his pocket and nothing more’ old fool who cannot produce than consume! Tufiakwa |
My God ! How did we get here ? Who did this to us ? What have we done to deserve this wickedness from our leaders and those who ordinarily should be our greatest refuge! Human lives no longer matter to them. When I listened to people coming online to defend the Ekweremadus, I feel pained because this is exactly what politicians do to other people’s children... imagine Matawale of Zamdara abandoning poor innocent children he took out for scholarship... can he do same to his own children ? What on earth could be the justification of our leaders for this level of abandonment ! |
Nvestor02:Agboro like you! Just listen to yourself |
Idiot ! |
When you carry cup give monkey to collect an back go be serious war! |
Agboro ... see as him hang for bus smh |
One of the major issues confronting our political system- rather than appreciate the values enshrined in the campaigns before us, the young man is focused and busy counting on physical building to be erected by a political party. It is unfortunate that we lack human structures to secure the class of change we are agitating for in this country. |
The painful thing about delegate election in our clime as against other democracies in the world is that they (delegates) have the opportunity to collect all the monies and still vote the best candidate here but a lot of them will end up doing otherwise which shows clearly that the problem is worse than systemic...it a problem of the mind; the mind with which we work within the system. |
Afonja Certainly not with your local igboho. Nnamdi kanu is a better educated and sophisticated leader. When yorubas boast about independence i laugh because they aren't straight forward with their agitation given the division |

This is a professor talking out of the blindness caused by religion. This man should know that no nation in the world can exist outside its foreign policy for that matter and that Nigeria's foreign policy keeps changing over time as there are various government at one point or the other. During JEG's era, Nigeria operated largely a foreign policy aimed at the principle of global non-alignment. In fact, the principle of non-interference also stands tall against the world powers and states could hardly get themselves involved in such matters. sometimes, i wonder how this man became a professor with due respect, he does not sound intelligent at all. |
This is the useless system we operate works. Keeping that man in custody against his Constitutional right to bail is unlawful. I wonder where Lagos police got that professional advise to keep ijesha more than requested by the Constitution or are they trying to say that Lagos State law now supercedes the Constitution? This is what they keep doing and when it gets to court and the judge throws out the case they will start looking for who to blame. Something that is purely white this people will make everyone believe it is black haba. |
Just imagine, "the yet to be identified perpetrator", what a reaction ! :' |
This is the problem with our system, haven arrested the suspect why not hand him over to the appropriate authority (police) for on onward investigation and prosecution? Now, they're busy negotiating bail terms to grant him bail. What has civil defence got to do with a rape suspect ? That they were called to restore and maintain peace thereby preventing jungle justice is not for them to now turn around and demand bail just to make money. The least expected was for them to hand over the suspect to the appropriate authority. This is perhaps one of the reasons why Nigeria is not recording good number of prosecuted suspects in most crimes especially rape. The law enforcement agencies are themselves one of our biggest problem, they will thwart the case file before it gets to court all in the name of money making and laster turn around to blame the court system. It is well with our country! |
Haha all this bring person wey Sabi one person wey go bring two person |
As much as I do not agree with the suspects, I believe that the way and manner most establishment and or employers of labour treat job applications is what has brought us to this very state; some don't look at your CV or resume rather they want to know who is bringing you in for the job. The worst thing is that they don't read your resume to discover what you've got. These guys are smart because they've discovered how the society works in this part of the globe. |
Exactly! That man should be arrested now enough of all this rubbish |
This man again? I just hope he will make it after 2023 Elections going back to his village because people are really angry with most of his comments. We are faced with insecurity problem and someone is busy talking about Federal and state laws when in fact it is the Federal govt that controls everything when it comes to arrest, detention, and the prosection of suspects (enforcement). The police, army and Navy etc are being controlled by the same federal government and here is this old cargo talking trash and attempting to bury the truth with lies. |
Kikikikikikiki supreme Court governor! |
Abeg na who do us like this ? |
Good one! |
Chai! My brother, the life no balance at all. Just keep trying and never give up in your efforts to get a better job with good pay. |
Chai! My brother the life no balance at all. Just keep hope alive okay and never stop trying in your efforts to get a better job with good offers. |
This country sef! We seem not to understand the purpose for which a thing is created before bending it down. This move will defeat the purpose for which the scheme was established. |

Openbusiness4:Just hear yourself! Everything contained in the petition are preposterous and unthinkable of a SAN; first, how can he turn around to challenge a process that is yet to be determined or concluded but for his premeditations you won't see anything wrong in that ? Secondly, the entire process he complained of were first challenged by @ Olumide Akpata whose letter he himself quoted in that petition to the extent that they (the the entire Candidate) in the elections agreed that in spite of the vulnerabilities of the NBA Portal, the elections should go on. Perhaps, all that happened days ago before the elections! Talking about the totality of the voters list and the total vote casts, I think he should visit the site again and do a proper verification and computation before coming up with the figures he is relying on. This is because not all that we're accredited voted and even if everyone has to vote how can he guarantee all the votes to himself when he appeared in a third position not even second runner up! Finally, the processes for the conduct of the elections was known and the purported disenfranchisement could be as a result of many factors but certainly not within the fault of the ECNBA. We've had situations where accredited voters failed to undo the registered mobile numbers from "DND" to allow messages into their mobile devices where obtains the personal link to vote. On the whole, your Candidate should thank himself that the victory never exceeded the current figures because there is an ongoing revolutionary votes from young lawyers! Thank you. |
sogodihno:Yoruba people na who no know una dey cry foul! Yoruba with betrayal be like 5&6 abegi make we hear word jor |
Recall that earlier on today a report from the Sanwo Olu campaign team we learnt of this same allegation which obviously the Sanwo Olu denied to wit; that his team never made such allegation. However, now that the Sanwo Olu's victory stands cancelled the same report is before the general public again. I think there is more to this. It is either that Ambode's remarks concerning the "rogue" is making more sense or that the allegation could be true at face glance. Oshiomole just said that the APC is not for one man and that democratic principles enshrined in the party's constitution must be complied with. This is not all about Ambode losing or not winning the primary election in the state rather its a power tussle between PMB and Tinubu. PMB wants Ambode back for fear of the unknown but Tinubu is saying Lagos is my birth right. No wonder the Jagaban told PMB that losing Ambode will not affect his re-election come 2019. I think Baba is just been too afraid of losing Lagos reason for all these drama. |
Yambee:You make more sense in moments like this when you learn to keep quiet because deep within yourself you know that you have no answer to Faith's ....! Truth is very bitter but learn to stomach it ok. Soon, I mean, very soon, Lagosians will get to ask questions. |
