Selfishness is the tree while greed is its fruit. All greedy people are selfish but not all selfish people are greedy. How do I mean? Selfishness means to be self centered not only in material things but in all things that glorifies self (egoism) but greediness only confines itself within the confines of material acquisition- money, cars, houses etc. Some of the branches of selfishness are greed, pride, love of pleasure, argument, talkativeness, gossip, rituals and anything you think a man can do to make himself feel better than others. On this note, I will say selfishness is worse compared to greed. If you do away with selfishness, you have done away with greed but if you do away with greed with selfishness in place is like cutting a branch from a tree.
