I think Fierce Nation sent his musics to Headies. They'd be foolish not to, considering the hype around him. There's no better time than now sef as no-one can predict the future. Headies is a big award despite suffering dents in their reputation for sometime.

Why Laycon didn't get nominated is because the record label or artist can only send his tracks for consideration, but the final decision lies with the panel of judges who decides who makes it into any category.

Laycon might make it into the Next Rated next year or years to come (Tekno is an example that took over 3 years to make it there before rejecting the nomination) if he puts in work. Tems didn't make it into that category last year, but she finally made it this year.

If Laycon had succeeded into making it to that category, he'd have had the best chance of winning since it looks like the voting category hasn't been scrapped. By next year, the hype MAY reduce, so he needs to put out a couple of good musics and he will be there.

Laycon's popularity came around august and its rather too late for him to b nominated going b time span indicated for review...

I hope and believe he is gonna get nominated next year even if its not next rated category cos he is doing well ATM
