[b]Good morning everyone.

I've got an update from a RELIABLE source:
(Remember matthew80 is not one of those attention seekers on Naira.land)

All updates about resumption, changing of portal statuses etc are being engineered by the NON-TEACHING staff of Unilorin, the BBF university. They are also in charge of the ongoing CONVOCATION registration etc.
.....................>>
Concerning admission list:
There's a serious BATTLE going on between the VC and other staff.

>>Prof. Ambali suggests and thereby plans to reduce the number of *admittable* students by scrapping those who scored below 50%. (Remember that the initial cutoff mark agreed upon by the school was 40% (from the same source)).

This decision by the VC has created a hullabaloo between the staff whose candidates scored less than the newly proposed 50%. (You know the usual staff-recommended candidates)

In order news, though *I can't say anything about their compromise as this was not revealed by the source*. But meanwhile, those who scored above 50% can be smiling now as something would definitely pop up by THIS->weekend. (From the same SOURCE).

NB: I'm not an attention seeker. I just feel like sharing what I know with you to at least, ease someone's tension.

#Goodmorning

huh huh huh
Welcoming our students back
As the University open officially for another
session (2015/2016 session) today (Monday,
5th October, 2015), it is appropriate to
welcome both the returning and new students
back to the campus. Having being on vacation
for more than three months, they will
undoubtedly feel uncomfortable, like any normal
student, to resume the busy and demanding
routines of university education. As I know and
experienced it, resumption after a long spell of
temporary freedom, so to say, from the hassle
of a chockfull university education is anything
but pleasant for many students. This is
because resumption comes with a lot of
financial and emotional upheavals.
Nevertheless, students should be reminded
that, as they are resuming the stress of their
academic schedules, they are only building
their future. There is absolutely no gain without
pains. I believe they will appreciate this ground
rule of life as they witness the joy and
gratification that definitely follow years of stress
in university when they see their senior
colleagues who will convoking in two or three
weeks' time. The consolation the students
should have is that: gratifyingly, they are in
these rounds of stress for a specific period of
time. Whatever has a beginning will definitely
have an end. Thus, they should be energized
and be ready for another roller-coaster of well-
stuffed academic activities they are used to at
the University of Ilorin. Paradoxically, it is not
over until it is over. Even when you finish your
university education, another race of life will
begin. So, trot on! The end or bus stop is still
far!

Obviously that's a given, what i mean is that it was built with PHP 5.2 in mind, meaning it doesn't have support for Namespace PHP5.3, and PHP 5.3 and upwards features, I evaluated it before because I was to take up a CI Project but i rejected it because as far as am concerned it's outdated CI 4 is what should be standard.

Anyway I am derailing the thread by taking you from your main point, I wanted to say why not take an existing open source and fork it and add features on top of it, or even strip out features not necessary, Open School was built in Yii and each part is a module running independently just like your CI controllers.

anyway wish you all the best, because most of the school packages out there are bloated with features most Nigerian schools will never use.
That's the point. @bolded
ProgrammingRe: Creating An Open Source School Management System by matthew80(m): 10:58pm On Oct 03, 2015
During one of my leisure times, I designed a program in PHP which I called 'school portal'. It contains 3 modules.
1. Students' portal - where students can check and print their results.
2. Staff's portal - where staff can upload the results of their students and
(3. Management - here, the Owner of the school has access to everything) *not yet added*

What prompted me to do this was the rate at which programmers were asking for codes to generate PIN for students to access their results online, and stuffs like that.

Hope we can work together on this as a team or...

Cheers!
