How can it be same foul?.....if you guys need an excuse to cry as usual then you can go ahead and start the usual routine.
We all saw how FIFA helped their boy pendu by cancelling the match bans he was supposed to get after a red card because that would mean he would miss one or more matches heading into the world and you guys said nothing.
JaceBlaze: I did not attack.I was telling you to stop blackmailing the people of SA with your doomsday prophecies, that we are going to see the negative ripple effects of us marching in a country we so passionately love.Yall want us to be as docile as you guys over there
That's all I said and if you see that as an attack then I don't know dude
That's why I told you that you didn't understand my post......the negative effects I was talking about was mainly about past/present xenophobic events like keeling, intimidating and destroying the properties of foreigners in the name of chasing illegal immigrants away which is cruel and unlawful not this particular protest.....I have never been against citizens coming out to demand that the leaders they election do what they want....I even commended them while hoping that it stays peaceful.
Sometimes, I do wonder why people keep such dangerous dogs in the name of pet/security in a residential building/area.....if one must keep such dogs in the name of security(because I don't even see the sense in keeping them as pet), then they should have a spelt out and suitable routine as to when the dogs will be on lease and when they'll be freed to do their security duty and also ensure that domestic workers and other residents that are in the building or have access to the building are well aware of such arrangements....include it in their contract self to be on the safe side.
Anyways, she should count herself lucky to be in a sane society where the law works....a certain country in west Africa would've cared less even if she lost her life due to negligence by the elites in the country....and it will be a miracle for her to get even a small compensation.
US singer Chris Brown has been found liable for a dog attack that left his housekeeper mauled and disfigured at his home in 2020.
Following a two-week trial in Los Angeles, the jury found in favour of Maria Avila, who was attacked by a 200lb (90kg) Caucasian shepherd owned by Brown while she was emptying the rubbish at his house in Tarzana, California.
Brown and his company Black Pyramid LLC must now pay her $12.9m (£9.7m) for negligence, according to US publication Billboard.
BBC News has contacted representatives for Brown for comment.
Avila said the dog, named Hades, ripped off "large chunks of her skin", which subsequently led to permanent facial disfigurement, scarring, vision loss and nerve damage.
Brown had claimed that the dog was kept for security purposes and was not his personal pet.
During the trial, the jury heard testimony that indicated that, instead of calling the emergency services or attending to Avila himself, Brown fled the scene following the attack, Rolling Stone reported.
The jury heard that he left his employees to care for Avila, saying he feared there would be a "media circus" if his voice was heard on the 911 call or was present when police arrived.
Brown said he had been about to shower when he heard the dog growling, and went downstairs to find Avila lying motionless and covered in "a lot of blood".
"The blood kind of freaked me out," he said, adding that he was "in shock" when he followed his manager's advice to leave the scene before emergency services arrived.
Brown admitted some culpability before the trial began, but he disputed the extent of Avila's injuries and argued that she was partially at fault for the incident.
The singer said he had warned the sisters the dogs were "absolutely not" friendly and told them only to go outside when security were present.
The two housekeepers denied that conversation with Brown took place, and said the language barrier would have made such a discussion unlikely.
Brown said the dog was purchased and looked after by his security guards to help protect the house from break-ins, telling the jury: "I get a lot of stalker-type situations."
Speaking in Spanish with an interpreter, Avila told the court she was left with severe scarring on her face and left arm, as well as limited mobility after surgeons grafted skin from her abdomen to repair her arm.
Rolling Stone reported that she showed the jury "a pattern of scars running from beneath her left eye up across her forehead" as well as the "raised and pitted skin" on her forearm.
She stated in testimony that she had not been able to return to work as a housekeeper because of a lack in arm strength, as well as post-traumatic stress that prevents her being around dogs.
A further $885,000 (£668,000) has been awarded to Avila's sister Patricia, who was also working when the attack took place.
Maria Avila's husband Oscar Olivo was separately awarded $50,000 (£38,000), Patricia's lawyer Michael C Murphy told Billboard.
"After more than five years of litigating against Chris Brown, we are thrilled that we were able to get justice for our client, Patricia," he said.
"We are so happy for her and her family after everything they went through on that horrible day."
Representatives for Maria Avila and Oscar Olivo have not yet commented.
Brown is currently on tour in the US with R&B singer Usher.
Brown is scheduled to face trial in the UK in October over an alleged attack on a music producer with a bottle in a nightclub in 2023.
He appeared in court in the UK in January alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu. The pair were granted bail.
LordLicifer: Of course, it would sound like that to you i am not surprised..
Is Dangote a politicians? Did he loot $23 billion? From the public purse? Maybe you didn't read where mentioned POLITICIANS or you deliberately avoided that part.
And oh! You are in support of one man having $23 billion to himself or again i repeat! one POLITICIAN looting 230 billion naira to himself from a public purse, yet you think you are making sense? and calling me ignorant for suggesting that ordinary poor struggling citizens to get welfare help from their govament
I can bet my house that you are probarbly struggling with your household bills and you could do with 1 million or less help from your govament, if you don't think you should get help then there i no point debating with you co's you are arguing against your own self and welbeing.
A bit like, instead of other people to get 1 million from the govament you shouldn't get it also.
Corrupt POLITICIANS clearly don't care about the state of the economy as much as you do when it comes to enriching themselves. A Sla.ve arguing in support of his master.
What is it got to do with us nigerians anyway? If south africans want their government to pay them 1M is it our money?
I say South african govament should give it's people the money! Good for them for standing up to their govament
When you're ready to argue with honesty and not accusing others falsely then come back and quote me because all I was talking about was the negative economical impact such move would cause....only God knows where all these other things you're talking about came from......now disappear from here and take your ignorance with you.
An average Nigerian losses his/her senses and humility when money enters so he/she ends up not thinking straight......check all these yahoo boys and hook up girls for instance.....any small money that enters their hands that can be used to do something tangible they'll waste it in the name of balling, peppering others and being loud...only to lay low and continue their usual struggles when the money finishes.
LordLicifer: What is wrong with what he said? In nigeria we should be getting more than 1 million without working. It's okay for one of our politicians to be looting 230 biliion to himself but an ordinary citiZen cannot have 1million. another politician looted 2 billion naira one person oo! and we are accepting all that nonsense.
That's not how economy works dude......you can't just pump such money into the system even if it's there.
Now I am fully convinced that the air they breathe over there is mixed with weed. ......just imagine what one of their so called "best brains" is saying.
JaceBlaze: There's no ripple effect nothing here. These people must go home and form their own march and march to challenge their own governments.Fact is y'all are cowards and you have allowed your leaders to get away with corruption.Do what we do,get inspired, get off your ass and challenge those dusty heads you have elected.
Wstation: Absolutely. Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, but it's only as good as the data, knowledge, and expertise used to build and train it.
If companies are hiring engineers back because AI couldn't meet expectations, those engineers should think beyond just returning as employees. They should negotiate better pay, build their retirement funds, and, where possible, work as consultants. The reality is that once the AI has been properly trained and the systems are mature, some of those roles may no longer be needed. They should make the most of the opportunity while their expertise is in high demand again.
Exactly....these employees don't give a damn about them and want to use them to train and upgrade their AI system....which means that if they're done training the AI, they wouldn't be that useful again....let them negotiate a massive pay and be working on some side project as well in preparation for the D day.
AI can hardly replace humans given that it is only as good as what humans put into it or train it to do......another angle is that AI can be trained to elite level which would mean that provided the right engineers and resources is being put into it's training it is expected to get better with time and could still serve as a threat to human expertise in certain aspects of human endeavors... nonetheless, this move looks like a Greek gift....these self centered employees are looking to have these rehired engineers train the AI with their own knowledge/expertise which could mean that if everything goes well, they will still be disposable in the nearest future....if I were them I will either refuse to train the AI or ask that my pay be made x10 or even include a huge payout clause on my contract that if I am fired to be replaced by AI I will be paid a huge amount of money as compensation.
Ford says it has hired back some human engineers after AI failed to match their skills and experience.
In a bid to reap the benefits of the tech, which developers claim can cut costs and boost productivity, the US carmaker adopted it across some parts of its operations including for quality checks.
But, according to Bloomberg, external, its executives said the firm has rehired more than 300 "veteran" quality inspectors in recent years to make up for the pitfalls of automated systems.
"Artificial intelligence is a fantastic tool, but it's only as good as the information you use to train it," Charles Poon, vice president of vehicle hardware engineering, told reporters.
"Over prior years, we didn't pay as much attention as we should have to the experience of our most knowledgeable engineers that have been with us through many product cycles," he said.
The US automaker is among many to have seized on the buzz around AI, particularly amid Wall Street fervour about the tech's potential to increase margins.
"AI will leave a lot of white collar people behind," Ford boss Jim Farley said in an interview with author Walter Isaacson last June.
In an October earnings call, external, chief operating officer Kumar Galhotra said the firm was "deploying AI across the entire industrial system".
This included rolling out 900 AI-powered cameras in its plants "to detect quality issues at the source and help us mitigate supply disruptions", Galhotra told investors.
But Poon told reporters on Wednesday the firm's AI-driven checks had failed to live up to expectations.
"Mistakenly, we thought that by just introducing artificial intelligence and ingesting the design requirements that we had, that would produce a high-quality product," he said.
Poon reportedly pointed to automated tools lacking the training and expertise of veteran technicians - many of whom he said had left the company before their knowledge could be used to improve its tech.
He said these human workers had since been reintroduced to train up its systems, as well as mentor younger workers.
"We recognised that for us to enhance some of our automation and machine learning and artificial intelligence tools we needed to ensure that they were trained by the most experienced individuals," he said, per Bloomberg.
Ford's admission of its AI failings came as it lauded its return to the top of an index used as an industry benchmark to measure vehicle quality.
It said it was the number one mainstream automaker in the US JD Power Initial Quality Study - a ranking it has not held since 2010.
In a press release, external marking the news, the company said "reaching best-in-class quality required a significant talent refresh".
This involved replacing senior leaders across engineering, supply chain and manufacturing, it said, as well as hiring the roughly 300 veteran engineers "who carry the hard-earned wisdom of decades of design".
KLEINBASS: You always run away from addressing real issues of Nigerians invading other countries illegally and their involvement in criminality especially drugs
I repeat again...come back and quote me when I say the things you're talking about....as for now step aside.
KLEINBASS: So South Africans should ignore the mass invasion of illegal foreigners in their country and the element of criminality especially drug trade from Nigerians ? You want them to run away and be burden in other countries like Nigerians?
Go and ask the person that said all those gibberish you're talking about up there that question because I don't know what you're talking about.
SA could face the ripple effects of how they've been treating other Africans recently and the image they've projected of themselves to other African countries soon enough....this is a country that Africans rallied behind and gave them all forms of supports during apartheid and this is how they chose to pay them back while turning a blind eye to what could be regarded as the real threat (the whites) controlling most of the critical infrastructures and economy in their so called "country" .
Nonetheless....provided this protest is a peaceful one, then there is nothing wrong with it....at least they have the courage to demand what they want those they elected into office to do unlike a certain west African country that's been declining at an alarming rate....in all thy doings, do things in the right way and remember that there is tomorrow and in that tomorrow, the tables could turn.
Thousands of anti-immigration protesters took to the streets across South Africa on Tuesday as demonstrations demanding the removal of undocumented foreigners began under heavy police presence, raising fresh concerns among foreign nationals, including Nigerians.
Videos shared online showed large crowds marching through Johannesburg, where protesters demanded that undocumented immigrants leave the country.
The protest followed an unofficial June 30 deadline earlier issued by anti-migration campaigners for undocumented foreigners to leave South Africa.
According to the BBC, police officers were deployed across the country over fears that the demonstrations could turn violent.
Ahead of the protests, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa urged demonstrators to refrain from “intimidation, threats or ultimatums,” saying the marches should remain peaceful even as his government acknowledged the need for immigration reforms.
The BBC reported that the demonstrations were “largely peaceful across the country, with isolated incidents of looting and attempted looting.”
In Johannesburg, it was said the city centre was unusually quiet, with many businesses shut and police maintaining a strong presence on major roads. It added that some protesters threw bricks, smashing the windows of flats in Yeoville, a suburb with a large African migrant population.
Police also arrested five people in Soweto for allegedly looting a foreign-owned shop. In contrast, another five were arrested in Hammarsdale, KwaZulu-Natal, over the alleged break-in of a tuck shop, according to the report.
According to the BBC, “many have already fled to escape violence and intimidation,” with South African police saying 25,000 people have been repatriated so far, most of them from other African countries.
One undocumented Malawian preparing to leave South Africa told the broadcaster he was “happy to be going back” but “heartbroken” to be leaving behind his four young children.
The demonstrations also coincided with growing fears among Nigerians living in South Africa.
On Monday, dozens of Nigerians gathered at the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria seeking refuge over fears of possible xenophobic attacks ahead of the June 30 protests.
Some said they felt safer at the embassy after reports of planned demonstrations, while others who had reported for evacuation remained stranded because they were not scheduled to leave on the latest flight.
The Federal Government has since continued its voluntary evacuation programme. Another batch of 271 Nigerians arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday aboard an Air Peace flight from Johannesburg and were received by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency, the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission.
The latest evacuation forms part of the Federal Government’s efforts to assist Nigerians who have opted to return home as anti-immigration tensions persist in South Africa, with authorities continuing to monitor developments following the nationwide protests.
before I open this thread I already knew it will be a yoruba muslim and the one's in the North don't view them as legit Muslims......these are some of the reasons (I am not in support of supremacists mindset though).
ashawopikin: yes , unlike Nigeria, each state have their own criminal law, in Missouri the minimum age to try a minor as an adult for any criminal case (in this case murder) is 12 years old. He is currently 10 years.
Wow......this is a good one....dude is always thinking ahead while others look away and later open their big mouth to say he is monopolizing blah blah blah.
