The Visiola Foundation’s Virtual Coding Boot Camp is an intensive five-week training program that will provide participants with a strong foundation upon which to build their careers as computer programmers and tech entrepreneurs. The boot camp will hold on April 5 – May 7, 2021. It will run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (WAT) daily, Monday to Friday, and classes will be held on Zoom, WhatsApp, and Google Classroom.

Participants will be taught Full Stack Web Development, Front-end Development, Data Analysis with Excel, JavaScript, SQL, Version Control with Git, and GitHub.

They will work on individual assignments and group challenges to enhance their learning, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities. This will serve as a foundation upon which they will mature into successful software developers and IT professionals. The aim of the boot camp is to encourage more girls to pursue technical careers by empowering them with vital knowledge to facilitate their success. The camp will end with a virtual closing ceremony where participants get to pitch their projects. Students working in teams will be given capstone projects to work on after which they will join an alumni network to be connected with leading employers.

The specific objectives of the coding boot camp are:
A stronger foundation in Computer Science.
Increased knowledge and confidence in programming.
To enable students to develop web applications and programs.
To equip participants with technical skills that will make them eligible for high-wage job opportunities.
Through this virtual coding boot camp, the Visiola Foundation seeks to increase the number of women in Computer Science with a view to create a pipeline of professionals who will leverage technology in developing innovative solutions to Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.


Eligibility Criteria

Must be an African woman aged 17 – 30 years.
Must have received her primary and secondary education in an African country (certificates to be verified).
Must be available for the full duration of the boot camp.
Must have a laptop or borrow one for the duration of the boot camp.
The camp fee is N25,000. Limited scholarships are available and applicants will need to provide verifiable evidence of financial need. All applicants are expected to pay an application fee of N2,000 by April 2nd, 2021.

Payment must be made into the Visiola Foundation’s Zenith Bank Account at the time of applying. Evidence of payment of the application fee will be requested.

The Visiola Foundation’s 2020 Virtual STEM Camp is an exciting 5-day program designed to pique the interest of girls in the STEM fields from an early age. The theme for this year’s camp is, “Innovate with Power”.

The camp will hold on September 7th – 11th, 2020, via zoom.

During the camp, participants will be introduced to concepts in Engineering and Computer Science. They will explore how the practical applications of maths, physics, and other science subjects work in the real world. Students will learn about sensors, resistors, diodes, and more in electronics and electricity, while also gaining an understanding of how science and technology can affect society and solve problems. They will work on individual assignments and group challenges to enhance their learning, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities.

The aim of the program is to encourage more women to pursue STEM careers by gaining their interest early, building their confidence, and facilitating their success.

The camp will end with a closing ceremony and a demo day when students will have to come up with designs and models that will aid in problem-solving for industries, hospitals, business centres, offices, and other applicable places for their final project.

Through this camp, the Visiola Foundation seek to increase the number of women in STEM with a view to creating a pipeline of professionals who will leverage technology in developing innovative solutions to Nigeria’s most pressing challenges.

Eligibility Criteria
Must be an African woman aged 17 – 30 years.
Must have received her primary and secondary education in an African country (certificates to be verified).
Must be available for the full duration of the boot camp.
The camp is free but all applicants are expected to pay an application fee of N2,000 by July 15th, 2020.

Payment must be made into the Visiola Foundation’s Zenith Bank Account at the time of applying. Evidence of payment of the application fee may be requested.

The Visiola Foundation’s Virtual Coding Boot Camp is an intensive five-week training program that will provide participants with a strong foundation upon which to build their careers as computer programmers and tech entrepreneurs. The boot camp will hold on July 20th – August 21st, 2020. It will run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (WAT) daily, Monday to Friday, and classes will be held on Zoom application, WhatsApp, and Google Classroom.

Participants will be taught Full Stack Web Development, Python, Data Analysis, JavaScript, Excel, SQL, Graphic Design, Version Control with Git, and GitHub.

They will work on individual assignments and group challenges to enhance their learning, critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving abilities. This will serve as a foundation upon which they will mature into successful software developers and IT professionals. The aim of the boot camp is to encourage more girls to pursue technical careers by empowering them with vital knowledge to facilitate their success. The camp will end with virtual closing ceremony and demo day. Students working in teams will be given capstone projects to work on after which they will join an alumni network to be connected with leading employers.


The specific objectives of the coding boot camp are:
A stronger foundation in Computer Science.
Increased knowledge and confidence in programming.
Developed web applications and programs.
Greater interest and would be well equipped to pursue high-wage technical careers.
