LISTENING TO 2TIGHT WITH DIGNITY
Tuesday 17th of November was phenomenal and unprecedented in the city of Abuja. It was the official Listening party for Abuja’s next big bang, 2tight from the stable of Dignity Entertainment, a professional record label, recording studio, publicity, artistes and events management outfit, a creation of young professionals resident in Abuja, FCT. Dignity Entertainment specialize in managing events and harnessing talents through innovative initiatives in urban entertainment.
The budding entertainment company which kicked off only early this year has been nothing short of a movement. According to Mr Isaac Umaru, the Director of Information and Publicity, ‘Dignity is set to “change the game”. The event was the formal unavailing of 2tight and primarily aimed at evaluating feedbacks from industry stakeholders, AOP’s, Dj’s, Bloggers, Fans amongst other stakeholders.
2tight, born Ahmed Umoru on January 4, 1990 hails from Kogi State, Nigeria. 2tight is a prolific song writer and singer. He is the next thing to “blow” in the music industry from the outfit of Dignity Entertainment. 2tight has a proven work relationship with his producer friend, Zippy who produced him most times. He has also worked with ace producers such OJB Jezreel, Chopstix, and Sukasounds on his unreleased songs. His anticipated collaboration would feature Ice Prince, Praize, Joel Amadi, Mode 9 to name a few.
A first of its kind, the event was held at Cosmic Lounge, Abuja. Notable industry players in the city have used the words “historical”, “neoteric”, “eventful” and “success” and more to describe the event. The event which started off with revealing, lively and colorful red carpet interviews of some of Dignity’s management, 2tight himself, his producer friend Zippy fresh, fellow record label mates; Spot (J town’s pride) and Trish Murda, Emperor Efizzy, Morrel, President, National Association of Nigerian Dj’s, invited guests, a host of other invited artistes and some glitterati of the FCT. The red carpet was ably hosted by Abuja’s own madam Lizzy and Mrs Beth of PlayTv and the event proper was gloriously anchored by Tripple A and Shortcut with Media houses like AIT, Play TV, Garki Gazette, TBS Studio, Maryannlive and many more.
Cosmic lounge was well packed as 2tight did his ‘thing’ as always. As usual, he impressed, entertained and inspired many with his art. From ‘Omo toh fine’, ‘Candy’, ‘Healings’, ‘Attention’ through to ‘Johnny Just Come’ to name a few; Cosmic was bubbling as 2tight performed with easy energy and pizzazz. In good time, and according to plan, AOP’s, Dj’s, Bloggers and other music professionals were comparing notes.
By the end of the night, 2tight had been clearly confirmed the ‘Omo Toh Fine’ crooner. The panel only confirmed what Dignity Entertainment must have naturally expected, the feedback from this particular song proves to be nothing less than phenomenal. The song is simple and intense in one breath. It is a melodious expression of love with rad beat by Zippy. 2tight about inspiration for this song says ‘Africa is immensely blessed with many beauties, and the song is simply a celebration of that beauty’. Unsurprisingly, it was top of the panel’s and listener’s choice. Even to the unassuming, the sight of all ‘rocking’ this song in the lounge was simply remarkable.
2tight is an excellent performer and has thrilled audiences at both Lagos and Abuja Industry nights as well as other events around the country. His official unavailing vindicated the originality of his craft through ‘Omo toh fine’ and also goes ahead to prove that Dignity Entertainment, as the CEO, H-man says ‘has come to do entertainment differently and to do it right’
