Demons are also believed to be humans that once lived on the earth in the preadamite world . Joagbaje, you are not far from the truth. But remember that God never created humans to be demons; no He didn't! They were created and introduced to replenish and guard the earth because of the chaotic state the earth was in, in Genesis 2.

The human "demons" you made mentioned were the fallen angels. The humans or giants "gigantes" Greek, they begat; could also be referred to as demons because, all through scriptures these Nephilims or Anaks were associated with extreme violence and barbaric acts. They died in the floods but, their fathers didn't.

They were the ones Jesus referred to when He talked about spirits who search out for human hosts to dwell in. These were the same you talked about, Mr Jo. There are angels, and there are demons; this is a present hour reality. Consciousness is an act of being able to mentally, and consistently, apply the truth (fact) revealed and understood. What do you understand to be true or false?

Genesis 6; tells a of a fascinating story about angels, referred to in that chapter as "sons of God" and humans referred to as "daughters of men". The story tells of how angels "coupled" with humans to birth giants. Lol! Yeah, "hilarious!" you might add, but it does say so. Look it up for yourself. It sure sounds like one out of the many Greek folklores, right? hmmmm... there's more to that "folklore", folks

How was it possible for celestial beings to procreate with terrestrial beings, one might ask. "angels are spirits! they are not suppose to be seen! they are invisible! they can't be 'felt' or touched! In fact, they are suppose to go through objects!" These are some of the likely thoughts ramming your minds right now. If you have one or more of these thoughts, then you are really a human being and not a robot.

Angels do exist; and yes, they are spirits. But, they do have bodies - celestial bodies; that is, the ones created by God by which they live out their lives in the world outside of ours. Let's study the story of Abraham and his 3 unannounced guest, narrated in Genesis 18. It was a bright and sunny day. the heat from the sun was at its peak and old papa Abraham sat just by the entrance of his tent cooling off. moments on, he sighted 3 men just a few yards away from his tent. he approached them and asked that they rested a while in his tent before proceeding further on their journey. they declined, but Abraham beckoned, and they agreed. he entertained them so well that, one of them asked after Sarah, his wife. he went further to tell Abraham that in 9 month time, that Sarah would become pregnant. Sarah, who so happened to be in the tent all the while, overheard the entire conversation between her hubby and the 3 strangers. she could because, the men all sat under a "sacred" mamre tree, just few yards from the tent.

Did Abraham know that they were angels at the word "get go"?

In the book of Hebrews 13:2 GNB, the Bible admonished that; remember to welcome strangers in your homes. there were some who did that and welcomed ANGELS WITHOUT KNOWING it.

That passage was addressed to the early Jewish Christians, and it also apply to today's Christians. Abraham, at first, didn't know they were messengers from God, he didn't know they were angels. but, he later got to know in the 9th and 10th verses. the Scriptures further prove that angels can "shape-shift" so to speak or assume the likeness of men, when it narrated the story of Lot and his household in a city called Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. Part of that story said that the men of the city gathered at Lot's house and demanded that he released his guests to them so that they could have sex with them, forcefully! The Old Testament is laden with many of such encounters between angels and men. Also, in New Testament times, a story was told of how and angels broke Pope Peter out of prison (Acts 12).

In Genesis chapter 6, the Scriptures record what may appear to be a typical Hollywood blockbuster movie; angels, of their own will, descended to earth and married women of human species. this unimaginable, but true 'holy' matrimony resulted in the creation of special breed of humans called giants. I mean, real extra ordinarily huge human beings. these, were the same ones narrated in Greek, Roman, Scandinavian, and many other pre historian empires. the truth is, all these cultures share one similarity; the existence of forces greater than human beings.

In Jude 1:6 the bible says, remember the angels who did not stay within the limits of their proper authority, but abandoned their own dwelling place: they are bound with eternal chains in the darkness below where God is keeping them for that great Day on which they will be condemned.

Revelation 12 talks about a prophecy that went forth in heaven and how its inhabitants got wind of it. some were embittered for obvious reasons that could be perceived as right, but a war broke out and some inhabitants were flung out to earth. Satan and his angels were thrown out.

But, what beggars answer is: was it Satan and his gang the apostle Jude made reference to the answer lies in Jude 1:6. it reads that some angels decided on their own to leave. they were not thrown out. they left for reasons best known to them. they didn't say within the limits if their celestial habitat, they abandoned it and left for earth. these angels left after the war. so, there were 2 sets of unspecified number of reengaged angels. the latter were the ones who married the daughters of men.

Demons: fallen angels in our midst.

Genesis 6, the Bible tells of how God dealt with the corrupt seeds of those angels. it records that; god used water to rid them off the face of the earth. the giants and other humans died, except for Noah, his household, the animals with them in the ark, and the fallen angels; yes!

The latter survived that flood. in the New Testament, the apostle Paul made mention of terrestrial bodies and celestial bodies. the fallen angels had celestial bodies; that is, bodies originally customized to live in the heavens. let me explain: the heavens are 7 celestial realms of the spirit; the heaven being the 7th and highest realm in which, where God lives. hell is a part of the 7th, and it is the lest. now, when the flood came, these fallen ones moved on the one of the 7 heavens; they moved to hell. after the flood, they returned. this partly explained why evil was not effectively erased from the earth; they returned and continued to operate, they were the ones behind Sodom and Gomorrah.

whatever became of these angels mentioned in Genesis 6?

Jude answered that question in the part b of Jude 1:6. he says, they are bound with eternal chains in the darkness below (hell), waiting judgement. you see, they were, and are still the ones in hell. after Jesus completed His works, all authority was given Him by the Father. Those angels were immediately restricted to hell, and not in this world, but Satan and his demons were only stripped of their powers: they were not restricted.

Revelation 12:12 and 1 peter 5:8 proves this assertion. They know they are powerless, and have limited time to live. they bitter question is: do you know he is powerless and desperate to have as many companions to be with him in hell?

The angels bound in hell still operate through their allies prowling the earth. are you aware of this? how can we escape these troublesome powerless, yet effective trouble makers

yes, it is true that the Revelations of bishop john are playing out before our very eyes...however, we are not left comfortless.
The author of the book threw a very perplexing question to his audience when he asked, "what are the angels, then?" he went on to answer: "they are spirits who serve God and are sent by him to help those who are to receive salvation."

so, angels also still exist, and are not restricted from operating on earth, but are restricted from helping certain categories of humans. only those who have accepted the salvation of God that Christ brought are allowed to enjoy the services of these wonderful celestial entities. they are to working for, and with the heirs of salvation, only!

In genesis 1:26-28, the Lord God expressed His divine thoughts; He said He would create human beings and that; these creatures would resemble Him and have His very nature. God finally made human beings but, along the line, the first set He created corrupted their selves (Genesis 3). Thereafter, God reintroduced a second Adam by name Jesus, who succeeded where the fist Adam failed.

The Bible tells us that God is love (1 John4:16). In plain grammar; it means that God’s very nature is Love. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, God still repeated His thoughts in Genesis 1:26-28. 2 Corinthians 5:17 is an encapsulation of Genesis 1:26-28.

Jesus was the Second and Last Adam; and was made with the “material” of Love. Therefore, all those that would “descend” from His “lineage” were also to have His nature. Note that: All the beautiful qualities described above on what Love is are “seeds” deposited in the spirit of the Christian; and just like actual seeds sown in the ground, must be nurtured until it becomes fruits, evident enough for all to see and enjoy.

The greatest leader is one who has the fruits of Love so visible to all, and is enjoyed by all. This is the true nature of a greater leader –a Christian.

Catching “the fish“that has coins in its mouth (Matthew 17:24-27)


When you study the Matthew 17:24-28, you will be amazed at the following;
(a) That Jesus paid tax
(b) That He paid with was miraculously supplied- it was found in the mouth of a fish; yes! Hilarious, but amazing.

But, are these all there is to draw from that story? Is the Master teaching us that; when next our rent expires, all we needed do was send a “peter” to the nearest lake, river or sea to catch a fish that would probably just about enough gold coins in its mouth to clear our bills?
There was more to that story that just: The Lord Jesus, Peter, the tax-collectors, the lake and a fish! Jesus actually thought us; how to generate the money needed to pay bills, as well as, execute the many great ideas and plans we have.

Let’s go over that story again. Jesus and his disciples had journeyed, and came into Capernaum. They were accommodated by a generous follower of the Master, who was more than excited to have Jesus and His disciples in his home.
One day, Peter had gone to run some errands, and on his way back, he was stopped by two officials of the Temple’s tax office (for it was customary for the Jews to pay Temple tax at a certain age). Peter, politely engaged them in a gentlemen conversation but, promised he was sure to relay the message back to His Teacher, and that, they would pay their bills promptly.

When he got home, he met with Jesus, and the Lord told him:
“…so go to the lake and drop in a line. Pull up the first fish you hook, and in its mouth you will find a coin worth enough for my temple-tax and yours. Take it and pay our taxes.”
(Matthew 17:27 GNB)

The questions that never failed to come to mind were: why the lake? Why not: “under the bed” or “in your right pocket” or “go dig 3inches near that big old fig tree behind the house”. As I studied more, I realized there was more to the story than just a fish with coin in its mouth. Read what 1 Peter 4:10 GNB has to say;

Each one, as a good manager of God’s different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God.
This Scriptural verse is actually telling us something that has a relationship with our opening verse. It shows us that God has put in every human being, gifts in form talents. And Peter, by the inspiration of the Spirit, admonishes that we use our talents for the benefits of others (and subsequently, for ourselves).

In our opening verse, Jesus understood that the Father has blessed every single human being with talents, and He recognized a part of Peter’s as fishing. I mean, this man Peter could fish! He was so skilled; he could fish in a canoe with just a line in the middle of the night!
Notice the Lord didn’t say; “go to the lake. When you get there, stand on one foot and say; ‘fish! Fish!! Fish!! Come out now!’”. No He didn’t. Peter actually had to work when he got to the lake. He employed his fishing skills.

The story in that Scriptural reference (Matthew 17:24-27) is actually symbolic in the sense that; it teaches Christians part of the many ways God had designed for them to generate income.
In that story, Jesus typified God. Peter typified the Christian. The lake typified the immediate sphere you find yourself, and beyond it. The fish typified people who are in need of your talents, and are willing to give you “coins” for them.

Here’s what to do…

First,
1. Identify your talent(s)
2. Appreciate it. Don’t lust after another person's talent; yours is also “cool”.

Secondly,
3. Develop it by always sharing it with your immediate contacts in your sphere.
4. Don’t commercialize it yet. It still needs a lot of working. That you got a testimony from a sister of brother isn’t enough. Share it...Test it...Stretch it!

Lastly,
5. Commercialize it. Peter had a business man’s approach when he got to that lake. He understood bills needed to be paid. Now, give it a business approach.
6. Be sure you run every idea, thought or/and action by God-His Word. Be sure it passes all the conditions for healthy and productive thinking in Philippians 4:8

Just like Peter, you also have a “fish in the lake” to catch!

Jethro Visits Moses
A Story of True Humility
(Exodus 18:1-27)

It has often been said that, the most difficult set of people to advise are those who are exposed to too much information.

The story of Jethro’s visit to Moses not only teaches us of the importance of division of labour; its effectiveness and benefits, but, it shows us a very rare spiritual virtue not much seen around in our time.

Jethro was Moses’ father in-law (Exo 18:1), and a priest of Midian. He had heard of the many great things God had wrought for Moses and the people of Israel and decided to come along with Moses' wife and two of his sons for a congratulatory visit.

When he met his son in-law, Moses, the two men caught up on old times, and Moses, narrated to his father in-law all that happened to him after he left them (Jethro, his wife and kids back at Midian). Jethro, excited and overwhelmed with joy, offered up sacrifices to God.

Now, on the next day, Moses was settling disputes among the people, and he was kept busy from morning till night. When Jethro saw everything that Moses had to do in a day, he was moved to ask, “What is all this you are doing for the people? Why are you doing this all alone, with people standing here from morning till night to consult you?”

It was glaring that Moses was really over burdened by the task, yet, he had no in clique as to what had to be done to effectively and efficiently remedy it. But, Jethro had the perfect solution.

17. Then Jethro said, “You are not doing this right.
18. You will wear yourself out and these people as well. This is too much for you to do alone.
19. Now let me give you some good advice, and God will be with you. It is right for you to represent the people before God and bring their disputes to him.
20. You should teach them God's commands and explain to them how they should live and what they should do.
21. But in addition, you should choose some capable men and appoint them as leaders of the people: leaders of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens. They must be God-fearing men who can be trusted and who cannot be bribed.
22. Let them serve as judges for the people on a permanent basis. They can bring all the difficult cases to you, but they themselves can decide all the smaller disputes. That will make it easier for you, as they share your burden.
23. If you do this, as God commands, you will not wear yourself out, and all these people can go home with their disputes settled”.
(Exodus 18:17-23 GoodNews Translation)

The following are the points I’m trying to establish;

Moses was raised up as a prince in the house of Pharaoh. He was exposed to all kinds of knowledge. Later on in his life, he encountered God, and was further exposed to more information. In fact, it could be said that he was the smartest man at the time. Yet, as all "knowing" as he was, Moses could not able to efficiently and effectively manage a simple task as creating Dispute Courts that would have levels: minor, medium and heavy cases.

Lesson 1: No man has full knowledge in all things.

Now, after Jethro had asked Moses those questions (Exodus 18:14), Moses replied him by saying, “I must do this because the people come to me to learn God’s will (Exodus 18:15-16). Jethro, then replied by sharing his thoughts with his son in-law (Exodus 18:17-23).
This pleased Moses and he thanked his father in-law. Interestingly, Moses did apply the counsel of his father in-law (Exodus 18:24-26).

Lesson 2: Always welcome counsel from godly people, those with the Word in their spirit, and in their mouth.

Two questions came to mind when I read Exodus chapter 18:

(a) What made Moses accept Jethro’s advice?
(b) Was it that the idea felt "cool", and presented an excellent escape route to the cumbersome task at hand?

Well, Philippians 4:8 satisfactorily, answered my questions.

8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Lesson 3: Run every idea, thought and action by God's Word. If they fulfill the conditions by which God expects us to think and act, then, it is safe to implement.

Moses didn’t get offended by Jethro’s questions and answers. He didn’t try to make an argument to point out clearly to his father in-law, that he was the one “over qualified for the job. After all, he did have several personal face-to-face encounters with God. “If God had wanted me to recruit judges, He would have instructed me to do so!” I’m sure this would have been many people’s response to Jethro. Thank God it wasn’t Moses’.

Little wonder Moses was called the meekest man at the time. With all the knowledge and testimonies as a result of following the Lord God’s commands, he still took the advice of a priest. Moses was a man of God; a prophet, and he superseded the title of high priest, let alone a priest.

Now, just imagine taking advice from a junior colleague on a matter as sensitive as Moses' task; but Moses did.

Humility, is therefore defined as the willful submission of one’s “status” of the mind, and the opening up of one’s spirit to receive guidance.

By “status” of the mind, I mean, knowledge already stored up in a person’s mind. This information tends to give one a feeling of superiority. This is what I mean by status of the mind.

So, when next a brother or sister in Church, or your immediate sphere offers up to share a thought or two with you, do well not to consider the status of your mind before listening. Rather, employ the 3 lessons revealed in the story of Jethro and Moses.

Remember: “the meek (humble) shall inherit the earth…” GOD BLESS YOU!

Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness.
(2 Corinthians 9:10 KJV)

The “seed” referred, are opportunities God give to men; as escape routes for dire circumstances and situations beyond their own might, or “multiplication” avenues to further prosper them.

Seed is not only limited to money or physical substances as widely taught. It goes beyond it. "Seed", is been given the opportunity to be a blessing to your immediate contacts in your sphere.

Rending your knowledge - talent, skill or expertise to a person or for a course, without the motive of being ever rewarded, is the “seed” been referred to in our opening verse. God gives countless opportunities to His children; to sow their talents, skills and/or expertise in their immediate worlds because, by so doing, they cause their actions to bear fruits, not only to the person or for the cause, but also to themselves.

This act of willful obedience causes God to “both multiply your seed sown…” so says the Scripture.

Now, because of the fruits, the sower’s heart is furthermore cleaved to God. This is because; his rightness in Christ Jesus is once more established before him. He now fully believes that in him, lays the ability to always do well to others with very little persuasion. This causes the sower to desire to increase in righteousness.

Be a blessing to someone today. It is your “escape route” to that pressing challenge that has defiled all your “workable” knowledge and contacts.
