Narldon:
Today is My Wedding Anniversary..

I'm in a Long-term Relationship, abi na marriage, with a very annoying Boo since 1960..

Although Boo was born in 1914, 103 years. This old man still acts like an infant..
This Boo of mine has been getting on my nerves..

Though at the Onset, everything looked rosy until 1967..

Boo got into a serious quarrel with one of us (his wives) which degenerated into a serious fight that lasted three solid years!

Why? Because she filed for divorce..

Boo was really brutal sha.. I would call that Domestic Violence

Our Neighbours kept watching in silence...

They later reconciled after our in-laws intervened..

We kept on living together; or rather, pretended to continue living in peace..

Did I forget to mention that Boo is a Multi-Billionaire? Sure he is so wealthy. He has many Oil wells..

Yet Boo is so stingy..

For 57 years, Boo refused to give me even just 'half' oil well, talk more of one..

Boo can be so petty and stingy ehnn!

My monthly allowance is just 18,800.. and yet Boo has billions of dollars stacked in his bank accounts! Boo calls it minimum wage..

Boo owns big two rivers in our backyard, and a very mighty Dam, all which can generate Hydro-electricity..

But can You believe that since 57 years Boo has been depending on Generator!

Boo has lots of international and global connections.. Boo has too many friends..
Most of whom are willing to help..

But do you know that:

Boo refused to construct a good road in our street

Boo refused to build oil refineries.. he prefers to send it to his white friends

Boo refused to pay our domestic staff and workers.. most of them are currently on strike!

Boo has refused to pay the children's school fees

Boo has refused to take care of our sick relatives..

Boo cannot provide jobs for graduates

Boo cannot build good schools

Boo has refused to buy a good car, or good clothes for his wives..

What a Stingy Boo!

Meanwhile, Boo is a chronic cheat..

He has no feelings! He flirts with all manner of women called "POLI-THIEF-CIANS"

They have been looting all the Family wealth... Selfish Bunch of Cows!

Currently, we have been facing lots of security crises in the house, not minding all the Battalion of Army we claim to protect us.

I don't even want to talk about the ones that wear black and black on the roadside that love bribe like pure-water!

Yet, we are still being attacked by aliens in the name of herdsmen, Bokoharam etc..

Rather, Those he prefers to tag Terrorists are his own relatives who were just having a protest against the non-challancy of Boo and his whores! Boo descended on them with PYTHON DANCE! What a heartless Boo!

I can go on and on.. but I cannot exhaust all

Not minding that Boo has beaten and abused me in all manner of ways, I still Love Boo. He is my First Love.

He has a great sense of humour which I can't resist. Even though I sometimes feel like dumping his sorry ass, but I find it difficult to cheat on Boo.

I know someday, God will touch Boo and he will Change for good..

By the way, its our 57 years anniversary! Let's continue to pretend that all is well, maybe with Faith, all will be well..

Happy 57 years Anniversary Boo-Boo!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE NIGERIA
typical BIAFRAN! This is Nigeria!
Nairaland GeneralThe Lost Code: An Independence Message To Nigerians by maykam(op): 4:50am On Oct 01, 2017
I don't know what has instigated me to write this, perhaps it's the love I feel for my dear country, or the hate I feel that tears it apart, or the unending agitation of the NotTooYoungToRun bill, or the endless discreditable acts perpetuate by her leaders. But whatever feelings or reasons that may have erupted in me- love, hate, concern or indifference, they conglomerate to form the necessitation of why I have to write this.

Let me start with a note of clarification, or relatively, expatiation on the state of the country. I am not good analytically, especially when it involves government and governance, but my sense of realization and visualization is close to (if not at) the peak. So with the little knowledge I have in my cerebrum, I shall make a claim which probably may not be accepted by all. Everyone's claim on the current downturn of the nation is on bad governance which I'm strongly in
support. Likewise everyone's most preferred solution is the youths' emergence into power. But everyone's nonchalance has made them to forget that if the mistakes committed by the elders are also committed by the youth, shall we
expect any progress? Definitely NO, rather our retrogression will increase at an exponential pace. Then what is wrong with today's
governance that has plunged it into a state of unstable equilibrium? Perhaps I asked the wrong question, for the governance can't be bad, but the government can only be. Then what is wrong with today's government? Or what is missing in them?

Let me take you back in time, once a Nigerian nationalist said "Africa can only be better if we READ." Then conclusively, I ascertain with the assertion "Readers are Leaders." Would you believe if I say today's Nigeria predicaments had been foreseen by someone in the past? Doesn't that seem idiosyncratic? Of course it may, but
there's this cliche "there are no new problems, just the past ones coming back to present." So today's Nigeria problem had been discussed in
the past. How then do we connect to the past when we hadn't lived in it? "READ"

From my simple analysis above, Nigeria's problem seems solvable. Even in my presumption, the solution is available before the
problem appears. Now what connection do "READING" and BAD GOVERNANCE have? It's simply
with our leaders who don't read again. They've deprived themselves of the benefits and enjoyment for mere lustful ambitions. I urge everyone to read, read the Qur'an, and the Bible. Read Plato, Shakespeare, Shaw, Mills, Socrates, Aristotle, Marshall. Read Fagunwa, Soyinka,
Achebe, Awolowo, Azikwe and Adegoke. Read Faraday, Einstein, Newton, Bohr, Rutherford, and
Darwin. Read Lionel Robins and Frankwood. Read something, read anything that adds to your knowledge and ameliorate your thinking faculty. "READ", for in that, we know our past, and prepare ahead for the future.

I've read quite a number of books, and each of them has changed my perspectives. Until recently, I got hold of a book titled "AFRICA IN
EBULLITION" written pre-independence,
sometime in the 1950s by a Nigerian Nationalist, Honourable Adegoke Adelabu, foreword by
Honourable Nmamdi Azikwe. The book expatiates many things, from the Nigeria's meritocracy,
ethnic bigotry and religion commercialization to self government and agitation for freedom. These are just few among the contents it holds. It's a book I implore every Nigerian leader to read. Does this seem like I'm hyping it? No, just that the book deserves my commentary. Read it and
you'll learn more about Nigeria's present situation from the past.

Lastly, Nigeria @ 57, and there are several agitations out there - the Boko Haram in the North east, The IPOB in the Igbo region, among all others, but the one being intense is the youth emergence into power, But I feel sorry for Nigeria if youth emerge into power. Do I against this NotTooYoungToRun bill? No, I don't, in fact I agitate for it also, but
how we won't have another sets of
(modern)slaves of lustful ambition is my concern.

My pen rests here, those above are just my conjectures.

HAPPY (IN)DEPENDENCE DAY
NIGERIA @57

This is a thread for all poets and poem lovers. Post poems and get them opened to constructive criticisms.

If you cannot write a poem, read a poem.

So here is mine,

Untitled

Let's talk about Nigeria
Where there's masses hysteria
Whenever democracy is abused
By the pot-bellied politicians.

Let's discuss the pain
In the North-east of the country
Where peace, to them, is a dream
That comes only as nightmare.

We want to thrust back to pre-1914
We want our kind in power
No, we desire our own country
"Republic of Biafra" we'll call it
"The Oduduwa Republic" we'll name it
"The Arewa Republic" we'll give it
But haven't we thought they sound awkward?
When compared with the Republic of Nigeria?

I wish I could get a visa
And travel out of Nigeria
To a country named Nigeria
That still enjoy every bit of living
Despite the oppression of the Occident.

There is no better Nigeria
Than the one we create
So Let's support the great course of Nigeria
So we won't have to read another
"THERE WAS A COUNTRY"

Through the saits on the venetian blind
From the abode of my comfort zones
The sky looks gloomy
Expressing the sadness of the crescent.

Away from their beloved ones
Distanced from their desires
To keep a vigil over us
Just to make us live another day.

Seven days and nights
Yet, the smoke haze the skies
Fourteen days and nights
Still, there is no sign of victory.

We want peace for them
For they are mortal
And they can only protect us
As long as they live.
