JOB PROFILE A pharmaceutical company located in Lagos is currently recruiting for the position of HEAD, ENGINEERING. RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES: 1. GENERAL STRATEGY To develop strategic and engineering plans that ensure shortened downtimes in the factory and make impact decisions while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the organisation. To develop and establish engineering objectives and technical activities in the factory. To develop engineering solutions to operational issues or new processes with technical team. 2. LEADERSHIP Communicates regularly with all engineers, both individually and as a group to ensure good two-way communication concerning engineering improvements in the factory. Regular communication with maintenance and operations staff in reviewing the operation of factory equipments and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner. Leading the engineering and technical team to identify opportunities for improvements. Leading all engineering activities at the factory which may operate seven days a week. 3. SUPERVISION General supervision of all engineering and technicians staff. Ensure maintenance of all laboratory infrastructure and equipments used in the factory. Ensure the smooth running of engineering processes. Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge and contribution of the engineering staff. Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance. Develops, plans, coordinates and directs engineering aspects of projects of major scope and importance. 4. GENERAL ADMINISTRATION Maintaining documents as per norms and standards. Manages external engineering services and recommends resources for improving factory engineering operations. Provides feedback to management on activities of the engineering department. Interviews, hires, and trains employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.Tech, B.Sc, B.Eng) Technical experience should not be less than 10 – 15 years Minimum of continuous 8years experience in Pharma manufacturing, FMCGs ,Food and Beverage manufacturing Must belong to a recognised professional society COREN, NSE. Master’s degree added advantage SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Strong leadership skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
