I dont consider myself good in Geo but i am good in Brandable. I am a novice when it comes to numeric or emoji domain. Trust me there are loads of other categories of domains.

First Port of call for me is to submit names to SH as unregistered with the option for SH to do the registration. if the name gets rejected, I submit it to BB if its a BB kind of name.

If BB accepts it, I either register it or sell it off on BB slack channel.

This saves me money spent on renewal with reduced profit(I am ok with this).

So always have a plan & stick to it.

If i discover a name has lots of potential end users, I register & I dont list on SH or BB, I might submit it to see how much price they will set on it. My plan will be to outbound to those endusers

Knowledge of domaining

Knowing what makes a good brandable domain name takes time and continuous learning. There is a rich and robust thread that deals on domain names generally on this thread, i will find a way to post it. my main handle was banned because of it.

There are several ways of scouting for brandable domain names, you can brainstorm and coin words yourself, you can buy names from auction houses(godaddy auctions, namejet, dropcatch etc) or you search for names that have expired and dropped from expireddomains/net.

Getting names from Auction houses will cost money but dropped names involves your time(zero financial investment). Expireddomains is a rich and robust database that requires skills to filter names on the platform.

Henceforth Squadhelp and Expireddomains will be referred to as SH and ED respectively.

For /com or /net simply relpace / with .

Domain names drop/expire daily for so many reasons, companies forgot to renew or upgraded their names etc There are certain parameters you input in your search to give you good names that brandable marketplace will accept.

To go into this you will need the following

1.Patience (This is not a qet rich quick scheme)

2.Knowledge of domaining (what makes a good brandable domain name), where to get brandable domains from at no cost etc

I started domaining in Febuary 2019. I have made sales on other domain marketplace(Afternic, Godaddy Auctions, Brandbucket, Dan) but i am yet to make sales on Squadhelp and Brandpa. With my knowledge and skills acquired over the months through Dnacademy, Namepros, Brandbuck Slack Channel, Paid consultations with seasoned domainers I have been able to build my portfolio on squadhelp to 151 names

139-Squadhelp registered names(still counting)

My objective is to hit a target of 200 Squadhelp registered names, this means zero financial investment on my part, No tension of domain renewal.

I am yet to make sales, 139 X $8=$1112(N400,000 using N360 as exchange value)

I would have spent a whooping N400,000 as renewal fees but because it is Squadhelp registered, zero registration fee for me but nice profit of a minimum of $299(107,000) per name, when it sells

Hello all
I want to introduce to you Squadhelp.com An online premuim BRANDABLE domain marketplace and a naming contest platform. You can make cool cash with little or no investment. You can either

1. Register Domain names and submit to the marketplace, if approved, the name will be listed and if it sells, you get 70% while Squadhelp gets 30%

2. Submit Unregistered domain names with the option of registering it yourself or squadhelp registering it.

If Squadhelp registers it, you get to keep 25% of the sale price, should the sale occur within the first year of registration. (My emphasis will be on this option because this involves zero financial investment on your part)

If the name sells within the 2nd year, you get a lesser commission of 22.5% and 20% if it sells the 3rd year. After the 3rd year, the name will drop if it doesnt sell.

All you have to do is brainstorm and submit names to the marketplace and make cool cash(minimum of N100k)

3. Submit names to their naming contest, you stand to get between $100-$300 if your name is selected winner, with an additional chance of your premuim name being bought too

I hope I'm not in a hurry to ask this question...Why only SH if I may ask? Can't I coin name or pick from ED and register it anywhere then list it for sale on let's say Afternic? Forgive me, I never really know much

Its not a must to submit to SH, you can submit it to any other marketplace. it all depends on your plan & objective

Very insensitive at the bolded. A bussiness owner who is temporarily out of business with lots of uncertainties for the future shouldnt be insulted for turning down an offer.

So because corona will end, he should buy something that is not key to his business survival when he does not know what the future holds.

It's an inbound. They came to him after realizing their error. They aren't rebranding, nether are they going for another name. It's their name and they want to get it back.

I also have exampletexas.com, I have outbounded to example-texas.com, no response. examptexas made an offer of $200, I countered $250 he rejected and even refused his initial offer.

someone shared recently how he got a response that they dropped the name years ago, another just lost a sale because the enduser beat him to the plural.

so that they have been using the name and want it back, doesnt mean they want to break a bank before getting it back and even if they want to break a bank, you have limited it by quoting 5k. Thats why you let them show their hands

It's not a geo domain, so the price I quoted isn't outrageous. If they feel it is, then they're not the right buyer. Doesn't matter if they don't have the budget. If they're serious, they'll try to buy it for half the quoted price at least. They can opt to pay in instalments too. Icausetrouble probably did not have them in mind when he bought the name. He most likely bought it because he saw that it was a good brandable name. And this was why he submitted it to SH. So, I don't see an issue in pricing the way it's done for most brand names: you quote 5k, for instance, and they negotiate downwards.

So because a name is not Geo means you should price it 5k? Because they dont want to pay 5k for the name, then they arent the right buyer, for a name they have been using?

You havent even asked if the name is trademarked? or you think if it is, it wont be a different ball game

You made that price suggestion without knowing the name, without knowing if there were other potential endusers for the name, whether there were other other extensions available for that name.

If he's doing any research about the company, it should be in hopes that he can further increase the price due to the company having a huge budget. But if the company's budget is very small, for a good brandable, that price is fine. They can meet half way. If they can't afford it at once, instalment plan dey.

Go through namebio and check the names that are being sold for 5k upwards, check the quantity and quality of the name.

Budget is not the only factor that comes into play when it comes to branding, especially for domain names.

1stly, Do a research on the company you are dealing with, what they are worth and what you think they might be willing to spend on a domain. that a company has money does not mean they are willing to spend huge on a domain.

since they reached out to you, they should show their hands first. let them make an offer? then reply based on your findings on the above.

A high quote might turn them off, you dont know if they have been planning to rebrand, that might push them to that direction. also make sure that the plural/singular or something very similar isnt available
