I participated in the previous elections when PDP was in charge and understood a great deal that Local government elections in Nigeria as we know it is but a joke.

Going by the results from other state elections held so far, one cannot but imagine why those elections should be held in the first place. If the state electoral bodies in commission with the stage governments would just allocate votes as they seem fit, irrespective of the choice at the booths, why co-opt people to expend resources both in material and human terms in the name of campaigns?

I am of the opinion that whatever legislation that COERCED the state governors to hold elections should be expanded to ensure a transparent and truly independent electoral body conducts same. That's bearing in mind that the local government, if properly formed and managed, is very pivotal to development at the grassroot level.
But unfortunately, even I too know that it is too wishful.

The fact that another party instead of LP won shows the election was not rigged or manipulated to favour the ruling party which is a plus to the governor!
The narrative that the ruling party must sweep all the LGA chairmanship seat should be discouraged and the people should be free to elect their leaders even if they are from different parties!

Same thing bro, all the people who won, irrespective of the logo they fly are the governor's loyalists. They were placed there by the governor and in due time, if he needs them to, they will all defect to the party of his choice.

All the "candidates" that won in the two parties were placed by the governor, check the actual polls, you will note that they did not all win in the places they claim to have won.

The sole reason I respect Tinubu as a politician is his steadfastness. He stayed in the opposition until his party took over power, that goes in contrast with many fair weather politicians who would jump from one party to another once their party is no longer in power, only to return to the party after their sojourn.
