I find delight in sparing time to study this thread right from the beginning. I'm currently in page 30 (within three days). I must say kudos to the pioneers. It has been a great blessing unto me. If there be any learning aid you wish to provide for me to also become successful in this business, hesitate not to send it to my email MCEDARFARMS@GMAIL.COM Excelsior, I have been trying to reach you via email and call to no avail. I reside in Ibadan and find you so resourceful for my success in this business, I wish to book an appointment with you bro, please reply my mail (sent from MCEDARFARMS@GMAIL.COM) Thanks all and Happy Sunday. |
soft777:Thanks a lot sir. I already know about the 5 x (LengthxWidthxDepth) divided by 3 as the formula for calculating the stocking density. Using the formula for 10ft x 10ft x 5ft concrete pond, it means 835 fishes. But robonski once said the 10ft x 10ft x 5ft is a standard pond that can accomodate 1000 fishes to maturity. So, I'm somehow confused here. 1. Is robonski right with the 1000 fishes to maturity in a pond of 10ft x 10ft x 5ft concrete pond (since the formula gives 835 fishes) 2. By saying 2 fishes per square meter in a stagnant pond, it means 2 x 167 fishes which is 334 fishes. Please shed more light on that sir. Thanks. |
ajoo17:Thanks ajoo17,I so much value your contribution. I only give the view of the farm at the end of the construction. The building is to be done after the first harvest (aside my office). The first stocking is meant to be 5000 fishes or less to start with. But my questions: 1. I think I am not wrong in building shed to cover the concrete ponds? 2. Hope 1000 fishes cant be stocked till maturity is a 10x10 ft pond of 5ft depth? Thanks. |
soft777:Thanks a lot sir. My house is far from the farm, so I thought having an office and a room to sleep will be ok. Also, car cant be parked outside the fence, so there is necessity for car park that can contain three cars. Security man and staff will also need a room each. This is my perspective but I still await your response towards this. I may be wrong and stand to be corrected. Thanks as you agree to join me in seeing this project through by God's grace. |
I am so glad to be a follower of this great thread. I got the insight to go into fish farming few weeks back. I have been gathering resources (knowledge) about it since then. But I must confess, this thread has been one of my major resources so far. Since I have gained from this thread, I therefore see a necessity to give back in one way or the other. Not only that, Since I am yet a novice, it would be my delight to have you guys supervise the project along with me to make it a perfect and awesome one. I, therefore, would be posting the images of each stage here till the end of the project. The project commences on Monday and these are the details : FARM SIZE: One plot of Land (100x50ft) POND TYPE: Concrete (24 10x10x5ft sizes ponds partitioned into four. i.e. 6 at a point) with roofing for shed TARGETED CAPACITY: 24000 fishes capacity WATER SYSTEM: Hand drilled Borehole (with four overhead tanks of 4000 litres capacity each) SECTIONS: Store room of 12x7ft, power house (7x4ft), aeration machine room (5x4ft), Hatchery (25x7ft), The concrete pond (50x65ft), Fish Smoking space (15x7ft), others include car pack, buildings for accomodation and offices etc. NOTE: If there be anything wrong (not right) or missing with the details above, please contribute. I am posting this because I intend to have your highly esteemed contributions for the success of the project. Block Moulding Starts on Monday. Lets see how it goes. Thanks everyone in anticipation of your contributions. Good morning and Happy Weekend. |
