Thank you for your response. Will most def do after registry. My question was whether or not priority would be advisable. Lexusgs430: We have known applicants on this thread, that applied for spousal visa after a couple of UK/USA visa refusals, and their applications were all successful..... NB: Apply after obtaining registry marriage certificate |

Hi everyone. It’s been a minute I was on this group earlier this year. Quick recap then I’ll get to my need for advice. I was in Canada and my boyfriend then was living in the uk under indefinite. We sought the services of a stupid lawyer who encouraged us to apply for a spousal visa that we didn’t really qualify for in the sense that it required us to have physically lived together for two years when in fact she told us it just meant lived together as in have been in a relation. (Our fault we should have done more research on that ambiguous phrase). Nevertheless , we were refused on grounds that we didn’t meet that requirement but everything else was good. I was not stamped or anything I just received the letter. Fast forward to now. We are in fact married now we got married in August traditionally and will be legally married in December. He recently got his citizenship. Would you advise we apply under priority when we do spousal application? I ask because usually they say if you’ve been denied before it’s not advisable to apply priority however we applied under different circumstances. |

Yes I supplied all of that stuff except for the marriage stuff because we are not married. It was an unmarried partner visa. My lawyer cost me this application because she missed an important require for this specific visa which is we have to have physically lived together for two years. So this is what cost me the visa and perhaps why they probably didn't even look at our supporting documents. It's just unfortunate that it took them that long to just deny me as well. When the time to marry comes we will have to do fiancé or spousal visa after marriage. tosine: Did you submit all necessary documents to prove your relationship like: Marriage certificate, chat logs, call logs, emails, pictures before, during and after wedding? |

Thank you. We will have to figure out a different way. Darcy16: What kind of sick decision is that? Please stay strong, They want to put you and your partner off the whole process. Get plenty of evidence! Put birth certificates if you have to! Get family to give references. Address all their reasons! Let them know how detrimental the decision was. Pray and then re-apply.
God be with you |

Visa refused on grounds that we are long distance and they think we are related. Thank you for all your input and support. I'm not sure if an appeal is even worth it. |

After reaching day 60 and basically having a fit. I was informed I did not pay return fee for my passport via Dhl ( which I did). My lawyers were told we have to make an additional payment. Right before we were going to pay again ( I didn't care I just wanted my passport) we receive within minutes of each other. The decision made email and the dispatch email. I assume it was a case of misadministration. So probably Monday I will know visa status. Thanks guys for helping keep me pseudo sane. Prayers up blessings down. |

Thanks. desiolowo: I applied in September and received the decision end of November. called them in December to chase the IHS refund and was told about the 90 days. I'll say email them. They charged me over £10 for the call and the summary was to send an email. so, it was pointless. |

If you are within walking distance to Tls office... Go there and check for yourself... with my 1st application i never got a message from Tls .... I went to there office and my passport was building dust there... |

Just an update if anyone cares. Reached 60 days today. Contacted Sheffield because two weeks ago in inquired and they said decision was made but I still don't have my passport. They responded and asked for more information so as to escalate the issue ( not even sure what said issue is). Now I am supposed to wait anoth 3-5 business days to head back. |

Im in Canada. They would normally deliver it to my house. Used Dhl. I joined this forum cause it was the most helpful and active. Did you get a decision? TunzAntman: Mchikwaira I suggest you take a punt and go to TLS since they told you a decision has been made. I think someone did that without getting the email and their passport was there. |

Babyann2016: I guess u should call them instead of email but even when u do call they will tell u it's an automatic refund and can can take up to 90 days......got a refusal earlier and that was what they told my hubby..... |

When did you hear back? I still haven't heard back from them and when did you apply? Thanks for responding btw. Appreciate it. desiolowo: Hi, I got a refusal (back in November) but unfortunately still haven't received a refund. Called them up and they said it'll take up to 90 days and is out of heir hands. I will email them at the end of the month. I've never of this before though so I'm sure you'll get yours much sooner. |
