Politics / BUHARI'S Ministerial List LEAKS; FASHOLA, Others Favoured. See Details by mcshegs(m): 4:01pm On Apr 20, 2015
About five weeks to the inauguration of the General Muhammadu Buhari government, the shape of the new cabinet is beginning to emerge. Daily Sun gathered that the next Federal Executive Council may be composed of Nigerians who are not only driven by the desire to restore the dream of the founding fathers but also share the modest lifestyle of the incoming president.

Resolved to work with the best, it was learnt that the president-elect is considering the likes of former ministers of petroluem and finance, Prof Tam David-West and Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu. Others are former president of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu; former minister of sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, presidential aspirant of APC, Mr. Sam Ndah-Isaiah and Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola.

It was gathered that while the President-elect is not going to stand against the APC that won him the Presidency, he has resolved to pick technocrats and those he trusts to run his most important ministries.

Towards this end, a source close to the president-elect and who had been privy to meetings being held, revealed: “It’s the President-elect’s personal wish to return former Nigeria’s oil Minister, David West to the Petroleum Ministry.”

According to him, David West is incorruptible, frugal, and loyal even in trying times.

The source also revealed that while a lot of qualified technocrats are being bandied about and their names forwarded by party chiefs and lobbyists for the minister of finance, the inner circle of the President-elect is leaning toward the expertise of Dr. Idika Kalu, a World Bank specialist consultant, who, for many years, worked with the bank’s various development programmes catapulting the Korean economy from the third world into its present competitive global market.

Moreover, explained the source, it was Idika Kalu who, in 2005, openly opposed the Paris debt relief as canvassed by the Olusegun Obasanjo administration. In an essay in the Washington based AMERICA Mi DREAM Magazine, the financial guru argued:

“What Nigerian authorities have in fact, opted to do is a rather expensive debt refinancing. More bluntly, our first option in dealing with our enhanced revenue cannot be for a ‘debt exit treatment,’ but rather, for the further growth and development of the Nigerian economy. This is the sustainable way of helping Nigeria’s fight against poverty, which the Paris club clearly subscribes to.”

In recognising the leaning of the caucus to Idika kalu, the source believes that the President-elect, as in the case of David West, wants Idika Kalu in the ministry of finance. However, position of the coordinating minister of the economy will be scrapped, while there will be an economic advisory committee.

For the ministry of sports, Abdulahi, Nigeria’s former Minister of Sports, may return. He had resigned as minister in Goodluck Jonathan’ government, owing to his leaning towards the new PDP, the faction of the PDP, which his mentor, Senator Bukola Saraki and five governors had formed.

Fashola and Akeredolu, it was learnt, are being considered as ministers of the Federal Capital Territory and Justice, respectively.

On security, it was gathered that Buhari is considering one General Garba as Defence Minister, National Security Adviser (NSA) or Chief of Staff.

General Cyril Iweze, a then young Igbo officer who served directly under Buhari in the First Division before the Nigeria Civil War, may lead the operation against Boko Haram.

General Iweze was the Nigerian Commander of ECOMOG in Liberia. He’s reputed to have given the Maitatsene sect hell in the defunct Gongola State.

The source revealed that General Buhari may constitute a Special Force made of serving officers and retired officers, who would be given a mandate to finish up the Boko Haram insurgency.

Nda Isaiah, publisher of Leadership Newspaper, who is noted for his ‘Big Ideas’ when he contested for APC presidential ticket, it was gathered my be minister of education.

Meanwhile, it was equally learnt that appointments in the Buhari government would be subjected to public asset declaration. Sources revealed that the president-elect would not have those whose assets run into billions in his government, as he wants to wage serious war against corruption.

Help me tell am o. I wonder d kinda blind and argument of hatred ebosse is putting up. The last time I checked...there's no established parameters for the shortlist by pfa so nobody knws d criteria. If its always about stat, why's Coutinho on the shortlist with 4goals and 4 assists all season ??
Sports / Re: English Fa Announces Pfa Nominees by mcshegs(m): 9:17pm On Apr 16, 2015
Don't know about you guyz..but I'd have a difficult time voting against Hazard on both sides.
Sports / Re: English Fa Announces Pfa Nominees by mcshegs(m): 7:49pm On Apr 16, 2015
ebosse:

Hazard is playing exactly the way he did in the last two seasons yet both times Chelsea finished outside the top 2. It isn't hazard who's put Chelsea on top the league table... Take Cesc and Costa out and watch CFC struggle to get a 2nd spot... You're a CFC fan ( I guess) yet you r trying make it look like hazard gave more point to CFC this season than Costa ( Or Fab)... CFC are were they are today because of the momentum both fab and Costa brought to the team. Those two players may not be doing as good lately but it was their early contributions that set CFC aside from the rest EPL teams.. U talked about hazard Pen but U 4got it was the unbelievable pass from Fab and terrific control and goal from Costa which killed the game!...

The last time I checked, the argument was whether or not Hazard has been making Key contributions and whether or not he deserves d player of year award...so pls stay on the topic and give more cogent reasons why Hazard doesn't deserve the pfa gong.
And I wasn't the one who made the shortlist...pfa has their reasons for not including Fabregas and its understandable.
Sports / Re: English Fa Announces Pfa Nominees by mcshegs(m): 6:59pm On Apr 16, 2015
ebosse:

How did You miss the part were I made mentioned of "Key Contributions"... Even within Chelsea without the goals and assist of Diego Costa and Fabregas respectively Chelsea would probably be fighting for a top 4 position ... Not to talk of the contributions of a player like De Gea (Man utd wouldn't be top ten without him and his gloves) neither would Spurs b fighting for a European position without Kane ( Almost Singlehandedly) !!!
Wait, are you saying Eden Hazard hasn't been making Key Contributions ??

His magic against Arsenal in the first Leg gave Chelsea the Confidence to win the match.

He provided the assist from which Schurrle scored in the draw against Man City in the first leg.

He won the corner from which Drogba scored in the first leg against Man Utd...and d list continues

In case those ones are way too far for ur memory to recall...when Chelsea were about settling for jst one point against QPR last week, his magic again provided the assist from which Fabregas score the winner to claim all 3points.

And who has taken up the responsibility of both Costa and Fabregas in the Chelsea team since the turn of the year ??

Do you even know the meaning of "Hate" ?....

De Gea, Harry Kane, Sanchez and Yes "Diego Costa" too made more important/key contributions to their respective teams! + most (Probably all of them) won @lst a PFA player of the month award.

I still don't understand how fabrePass missed out.

Meanwhile Seun, Ishilove, lalasticlala na crime to put sport post for FP?
ebosse:
I know CFC fans will start screaming hazard left, right and centre.... But a player who's yet to win a PFA monthly award don't deserve a yearly award.

Gareth Bale didn't win a pfa player of the month in 2010/2011 season and didn't even win the league buh still won the pfa players' player of the year award. ( I stand to be corrected)

Any other reason why Hazard doesn't deserve to win it ??
