[quote author=abimonile97 post=136735960]Hello house, please i need your advice.
My long awaited second study visa application was refused after waiting for 50 days. Application submitted date 16 July, Refusal date 5th September.
while waiting, i already deferred my admission to Jan 2026 intake New LOA submitted through web form.
Sorry for that, don’t worry you will get it next time.. First did you transfer the money from your sponsor account to your personal account? Did your sponsor show them a sale document for the landed documents.. did your sponsor summited letter of sponsorship, deed of gifts and affidavit of sponsorship Also was your course a 2 years program if yes did you pay full year sch fees as deposit? How much did you provide as your POF in ur statement of account. Where you going along or with dependent |

greatman2000: Thank you so much for your response. I followed your advice and my visa got approved already. More interestingly, within the space of 11 days. I didn't show my sponsor's account. I submitted his farmland documents and only mention that he has cattles with pictures of the cattles attached. His appointment letter was also attached. Thank you once again. I really appreciate your response. You mean within 11days after your biometrics or after submitting your visa application? Please let us know.. |

Profgordons: My ward’s study was refused on a quite flimsy ground but good thing that can be easily addressed but of course she will miss a semester. GCMS showed RROC as the primary processing office while Nairobi was secondary. If most study permits are now being processed by RROC that is usually slow, then it’s going to be tough for most applicants going forward. How will you know it’s RROC that’s handling your application because I summited my study visa application today… And it was IRCC that sent me an email of confirmation.. Please enlighten me |

destinychildolu: There's no formula for all these things. I will give an example of all the red flags in my own case. 1. Used a sponsor 2. After sponsor transferred "living expenses" to my account, he has less than a million in his business account and less than 5m in his personal account. 3. I already have a b.sc and applied for Diploma. 4. Age was way way above 30. 5. Married with children and wife wasn't working and no mention of how wife and children will feed. 6. POF was lump sum and it lasted just 2 weeks in the account before account was printed.
Upon all the "red flags" it was approved. I think it's just based on V O discretion Could you please provide more specific details? What was the total amount in your account for (POF)? How many years is your diploma course? How much did you pay as your initial deposit for your school fees? What was the total tuition fee, and how much is remaining? Please let me know. |

amnotapervert: (Your second-year fees plus more) + (Before September 1, 2025, The current minimum amount living expenses is CAD 20,635) No one knows the exact amount because IRCC can be running mad, but it’s always good to show that you have the money and more plus available at any time and that it’s not a problem. Your sponsor should also be able to pay at any time. Thanks but I thought it’s only 1 year living expenses and your remaining tuition fee you ought to calculate during your POF… |

JMG12: After paying your complete tuition fee for the duration of your program, what you will have as POF is your living expenses for the duration of your program. I paid for 1 year tuition fee.. The program is 2yrs, so my bal tuition fee for the 2nd yr is 17,500.. So will I add the bal to the living expenses.. Also is it 1 yr living expenses I will calculate of for the 2yrs |

orjohn24: Anybody can apply visit visa but only the visa officer decide who to get a visa How many months does it usually take to get a student visa approved after submitting the application? What are my chances of getting a visa if my tuition fee is CAD $36,000 for a 2-years program, and I plan to pay half (i.e., one year’s tuition) upfront? How much POF is required for a family of 4? If I'm splitting the POF between accounts, how much should be in the main applicant’s account at minimum? Or is it acceptable for all the funds to be in the spouse’s (sponsor's) account? |

sanima770: Many Nigerian students in Canada are now stuck after their PGWP expires, with no clear PR path a harsh truth many are ashamed to admit. Studying in Canada doesn’t guarantee PR, and a few students I know who came through Northeastern ended up dropping out or switching schools. If I had your budget, especially since working in Canada can’t be relied on to fund your education and even residents are struggling to find jobs, choosing a place like Toronto could be a miscalculation. I’d rather go for a program with a strong PR stream like Ontario’s Master’s Graduate Stream (only for certain public schools) or invest in French training abroad to qualify for French-speaking draws. Best of luck! What if I go with my wife as my dependent.. Is it still advisable considering how difficult it’s now to get a job |
