My Dad wasn't an art student. after his secondary Schl exams in 1976, he went for his HSC(I think that's equivalent to Diploma now) for 2 years and gained admission straight into 200l in UI and he was a science student.

This is very possible OP and I have a living example. My dad was born 1960 and he graduated from UI by 1980 whc makes him 20 by then and by 21 he was tru with his NYSC......thr is nothing biggie in that.
