GOV. WIKE EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR SPEEDY DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE

......as National Industrial Court is set to return to Port Harcourt........

The Governor of Rivers State, Chief Bar. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has expressed to support speedy dispensation of justice.
The governor made this expression today at the venue of the ground breaking and foundation laying ceremony of the construction of the National Industrial Court complex.

The Governor noted that 90% of industrial case in Bayelsa are from Rivers state, hence the need to ensure that the NIC is returned to the state to meet the need of Rivers people. He further that no Nation can develop without an efficient judicial system to meet the needs of the people.

In his welcome address, the Hon. Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Rivers State, Mr. Emmanuel Aguma SAN, explained that the Industrial Court left Rivers State to Bayelsa State due to the closure of the courts by the previous administration. He equally noted that the court gave as a condition for it's return the provision of accommodation which governor has set in motion. Hon. Aguma expressed gratitude to the governor for listening to the courts plight by embarking of the project.

The Chief Judge of Rivers, Justice (Mrs.) Iyayi Laminkara who was the Chairman of the occasion thanked the Governor for his support to the judiciary.

The president of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria Hon. Justice Babatunde Adeniran Adejumo OFR, who performed the ground breaking and foundation laying ceremony, applauded Governor Wike as the first Governor to initiate a project of this nature aimed solely to accomodate the National Industrial Court. He also noted that the Governors decision to embark on such project as to build a premises for the National Industrial Court is part of service to Rivers people since they are the people that would suffer if the court is not in the state, as there there are about 750 cases from Rivers State presently in the court and they have had to be allocated to Bayelsa and Imo states due to the absence of the NIC.

The high point of the event was the ground breaking and foundation laying ceremony as performed by the President of National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Babatunde Adeniran Adejumo OFR and the official hand over of the Certificate Of Occupancy by the Governor to the National Industrial Court.

Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency: APC uses Nigerian Army to abduct PDP Accredited Agents

In a desperate bid to rig the Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency elections, the Rivers APC on Saturday enlisted the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, with the soldiers blatantly abducting PDP agents accredited by INEC to monitor the elections .

Scan News correspondents at Etche said that the soldiers abducted PDP Publicity Secretary and Agent, Mr Samuel Nwanosike and another agent, Rowland Sekibo. Also abducted was Mr Odiari Princewill, PDP Rivers West Senatorial Vice Chairman and PDP Agent.
Several other agents accredited by INEC were also arrested.

The soldiers acting as APC members danced around the PDP agents singing Hausa songs while manhandling them.

It was learnt that trouble started for the PDP agents when they insisted that INEC must take the election materials to polling units instead of the home of Ogbonna Nwuke, the APC Candidate for Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency .

Their insistence led to an argument wherein the leader of the soldiers a lieutenant colonel placed a call to Port Harcourt. After his call, the Lieutenant Colonel ordered the abduction.

After their abduction, they were beaten and forced to sit on the floor. Thereafter, the soldiers holding their phones, snapped them repeatedly before taking them to Bori Camp.

At Bori Camp, APC leaders led by the Rivers APC Chairman, Davies Ikanya joined the soldiers to intimidate the PDP agents .

Security agencies have been conscripted by the APC to rig elections. The soldiers are struggling to help APC swap results.

Feelers from the field indicate that PDP have taken an early lead in the election.

Apc fails again with their evil plots,some of the cultists imported by APC from outside Etche Local Government to disrupt/cart away Electoral materials in the ongoing Conclusive Rerun Elections.

They were timely intercepted by men of the Nigerian Armed Forces and Security Agencies.

Are the people of Etche/Omuma Federal constituency in war or trying to exercise their civic right in electing who will represent them in the Federal House of Reps and State house of Assembly.

The Nigerian police has deployed over 10,0000 police men to Etche LGA for a supplementary election of the Rivers legislative Rerun holding in just One LGA.

To think that the military men attached to the INEC office at Okehi denied the PDP party agent and Etche LGA chairman access to the INEC office while allowing the APC party agents access is an evidence that the process started on a faulty note and an indication that the APC is desperate for power.

The irony of it is that the police could not mobilise half of this to Southern Kaduna where the Fulani herdsmen are running amok maiming and killing innocent citizens unchallenged.

As the saying goes when a child washes his hands clean he dines with the elders.

It is a fact that a golden fish has no hiding place, no matter how hard it tries to or how hard obstacles to shield it.

This is the case of His Excellency, Chief. Bar. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, that has always stand out despite challenges and obstacles posed by detractors and traducers. Wike assended to the position of the executive governor of Rivers State amidst controversies all against him yet he surmounted them all and emerge victorious.

By the tomorrow the 18th February, 2017 at exactly 5pm at Expo Center, Eko Hotels and Suites Victoria Island Lagos Nigeria, Wike will be honoured with award of the SUN GOVERNOR OF THE YEAR AWARD by The Sun Publishing Ltd publishers of the Sun News Papers. This award is in recognition and acknolwdgement of Governor Wike's developmental stride and efforts in delivering good governance and dividend of democracy to the people of Rivers State and setting the pace for other governors in the country at large.

Recall that shortly after Chief. Bar. Wike became the governor of Rivers State he became a victim of bad journalism. But as a man who was determined to succeed in rescuing his people from the evil grip of clandestine politicians and deliver to his people what due them, Governor Wike surmounted all odds and stood tall amongst the serving governors despite being made a media villain. He rose from media villain to become media hero and the toast of the media today as is evidenced in this award by Sun Newspaper.

Before Wike emerged the governor of the state, he has being in postions of public trust and performed creditably well.

He was the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State for two tenures of 4 years each. Obio/Akpo is one of the most vibrant LGAs in Nigeria today courtesy of the managerial and administrative accumen of Chief. E. N. Wike. While serving as the Chairman of Obio/Akpo LGA he built many infrastructures which is rare among LGA Chairmen in Nigeria. He was the National Chairman of Association of Local Government Organisation of Nigeria ( ALGON ). His administrative prowes gave the ALGON much credence as at then.

Due to his desire to perform and achieve success he was endeared to the former governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who appointed him Chief of Staff Government House in which he was instrumental to the achievements of Amaechi in his first tenure.

Wike later was appointed the Honourable Minister of State for Education. Wike as a man synonymous with success and who is always ready to perform and exhibit excellence no matter the challenge, could not sit and collect allowances like his contemporaries, he swung into action and made a lot of foot prints in the education sector. His tenure as a minister saw the building of hundreds of Almajiri and normadic schools in the northern part of the country and encouragement girl child education in the south east. Wike's era as minister of education saw federal government intervention in the development of the Universal Basic Education with the building of model primary schools across the country under UBEC.

Wike like the golden fish has always shone like a million stars any where he finds himself.

Wike became the governor of Rivers with challenges of insecurity, paucity of funds, decayed and dilapidated infrastructures, months of unpaid workers salaries etc, which he inherited from his predecessor, who tried to make the state ungovernable for him. The governor instead of complaining hit the ground running and started work. The surprising aspect of Gov. Wike's strong desire to succeed was that from the venue of his swearing in he went straight to flag off a road rehabilitation project code named operation zero pothole.

Today Rivers state is wearing new look due to the deligent hard work of this gentleman.

The following are some of the achievements of the governor in a short while in office.

(1) The rehabilitation and construction of thousands of kilometers of roads across the state. Every LGA in the state has at least a road project if not more than going on or completed and commissioned by the governor.

(2) The Education sector is receiving a boast with the rehabilitation of the schools across the state.

(3) The House of Assembly which was shut down and transfered to the government house by the past administration has be reopened and functioning at a very vibrant level.

(4) The judiciary which the last administration reduced to nothing is now operational thereby giving hope to the common man.

(5) The health sector is not left out as general hospitals across the state is being rehabilitated to improve health care delivery.

(6) As soon as as he mounted the seat of the governor of Rivers State paid up all the salary arears owed civil servants and pensioners by the past administration and ensure that workers and pensioners are paid up to date. Rivers state today is one of the states if not the only state that is up to date in payment of worker salaries and pensions.

(7) Insecurity is now a thing of the past as the governor gave great attention to the security of lives and properties and made a top priority. This he did by organising an amnesty programmes for repentant cultists who are ready to embrace amnesty.

This feat in securing the state and ensuring that peace returns to the state led to the confirment of the title of the Apostle of Peace by the Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN ) Rivers State Chapter on the governor.

Having seen the achievements of Governor Wike in less than two years in office, the Sun publishing Ltd the publishers of Sun Newspapers deemed it fit and necessary that it is pertinent to give honour to whom honour is due. This gave rise to nomination and eventual selection of Gov. Wike as the Sun Governor of the year 2016.
This event will take place at Expo Center, Eko Hotels and Suits Victoria Island, Lagos, tomorrow the 18th February, 2016. Going by the history of the award you will agree that it is not an award of all comers but an award to those that has made marks in their chosen areas, therefore the award being given to Gov. AN APC POLICE: VERY SAD FOR DEMOCRACY

Since the very day Mr Ibrahim Idris was appointed as Inspector-General of Police for his partisan role during the 2015 General Elections whilst he served as Commissioner of Police in Kano State, he has metamorphosed into a nightmare to the nation’s democracy.

Not even the APC National Chairman, Mr. John Odigie-Oyegun can compete with Ibrahim Idris in the plot to illegally decimate the PDP, unleash violence and negative propaganda on the opposition.

Idris involves himself in APC electioneering process in a manner that beats the imagination. He has turned the Nigerian Police into a village vigilance group with no laws or scruples governing her operations.

The only thing that motivates Idris is how to impress his oga at the top. His loyalty has never been to Nigeria. It is always about the APC. Idris was a commissioner of police in Kano when a resident electoral commissioner was brutally murdered with members of his family via arson with over 30 policemen guarding his home. Till date, we are yet to know who murdered that INEC official in a state where APC fantastically emerged victorious.

I have always known Idris's capacity for mischief and senseless propaganda, but I never imagined that he would outdo himself in the manner he did with Mr Damian Okoro. To gather journalists and turn the headquarters of the Nigerian Police into a theatre of the absurd is a shameless action no well meaning Nigerian should tolerate. The event of Tuesday, 7th February, 2017 was a national tragedy of regrettable proportions.

That a nation's police force would connive with a bank, withdraw money from its account and display same with its wraps before journalists is a warning that we are in deep trouble. Our adherence to the quota system has landed us deep in the proverbial deep blue sea.

Pray, what kind of low intelligence would lead the leadership of the Police High Command into believing that monies believed to "bribe" would remain intact two months after it was offered. These fraudulent police thespians in their hurry to address the press and divert attention for the oga at the top, never imagined that two months after the funds would not be under same wraps.

Is that the way Idris's men keep their bribes that have notoriously rubbished the already battered image of the police?

It is necessary to emphasise that the Rivers State Government never bribed any INEC Official. There was no reason to do so because APC has never been a political threat in Rivers State. The governor’s performance over the last 19months has made Rivers State an impregnable fortress. The people are solidly behind the governor. PDP is there choice.

At the press conference where the embattled Inspector General of Police and his side-kick, Damian Okoro embarrassed the security network of the country, they claimed that they would allow journalists interact with the three Electoral Officers they claimed met with Governor Wike. However, after that briefing, the IGP reneged.

Findings have revealed that the 23 INEC Officials arrested by the police denied any wrong doing. They made no confessions. They were promptly released without detention. The Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Aniedi Ikoiwak declared on Rhythm FM in Port Harcourt that no INEC Official was indicted by the police after investigation.

Similarly, no policeman, across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State was indicted for electoral malpractice during the rerun legislative elections by the IGP Kangaroo Panel. Only the 6 policemen maliciously dismissed for protecting Governor Wike from the IGP Deadly assassination squad. The few media reports twisted to help the police were planted by the APC propaganda machine. A machine that has lost is efficacy because Nigerians know they lie habitually.

Where in the report did the police mention the infraction at the INEC Isiokpo Collation Center on December 11, 2016? Thousands of women blocked the Isiokpo INEC Collation Center on that day when Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi with hundreds of SARS Personnel and Soldiers stormed the venue, snatched result sheets, sacked journalists and INEC Officials , stayed in the facility for hours and re-wrote the results. They ignored results of the earlier rerun on March 19, 2016 and declared the APC candidate winner of Ikwerre State Constituency.

The IGP Fraudulent and Criminally concocted report made no mention of the violent invasion of Andoni Collation Center by soldiers and policemen. This unfortunate incident widely reported had policemen pointing guns at the head of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr Tele Ikuru because he insisted on public collation in the presence of journalists.

The IGP Kangaroo report made no mention of the fact that there were no voting in Khana, Gokana and Tai Local Government Areas. The report failed to indicate that all result sheets were snatched by policemen and soldiers and taken to the home of Mr Magnus Abe, APC Senatorial Candidate for Rivers South-East Senatorial District where allocation of votes took place.These facts were all in the public domain through the social and traditional media.

This ugly unprincipled report made no mention of the unscrupulous actions of the police and soldiers at Emohua where they tried to snatch collated results. On December 12, 2016, thousands of Emohua people took to the streets and stopped the security agencies from stealing their mandate. They succeeded and the results got to Port Harcourt.

The cooked futile report of the IGP made no mention of Mr Charles Anyanwu, APC Etche Local Government Area who was arrested by the police after his gang inflicted gun wounds on INEC officials and policemen.

For the IGP, there was nothing wrong with the killing of DSP Alkali by a murderous gang loyal to Amaechi’s Commissioner of Power. His report shied away from this ugly incident.

This APC-Police report made no mention of Atonyesia Peterside, the cousin of defeated Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, who was arrested by the Police printing fake result sheets for INEC. Till date, police and INEC have refused to prosecute their accomplice.

While Idris and his hatchet men were busy cooking the report for APC, they forgot that the December 10, 2016 rerun was a conclusion of the March 19, 2016 rerun. During the March 19 , 2016 rerun elections, the collation of results for Ikwerre State Constituency was almost concluded before the defeated Rivers APC Governorship Candidate, Dakuku Peterside and others invaded the Collation Center.

It was during this collation that the Ikwerre State Constituency, Azubuike Wanjoku publicly assaulted the returning officer. Wanjoku was captured on tape threatening to kill the INEC Official if he failed to return the N12million bribe he offered him to manipulate the rerun legislative elections. Our Pro-APC IGP refused to prosecute Wanjoku. He refused to prosecute Dakuku Peterside who stole results at the Ikwerre Collation Center, escaped with it and was stopped at UTC Junction where he attempted to kill Engr Chukwuemeka Woke who served as the PDP Collation Agent for Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency. Dakuku Adol Peterside had no business being at the Ikwerre LGA Collation Center.

I have pointed out the key examples signalling the futility of the criminally and politically motivated report of the IGP Investigative Panel. It is a report written to humour the APC leadership and justify the billions expended in sponsoring the terror against Rivers State.

IGP Ibrahim Idris presides over a police force that has become a national embarrassment, according to the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Audu Ogbe. The Minister on National Television berated the Police for being responsible for the scarcity of food that has rocked the nation. For the South-East alone the corruption of IGP Ibrahim Idris's men leads to the loss of N7billion monthly. Idris has no business being in service. He should be eased out, investigated and prosecuted.

The 28000 policemen that Idris deployed to Rivers State for the rerun were embarrassingly Pro-APC. They worked for APC chieftains as if their survival depended on it.

I read on Friday in the newspapers that the embattled IGP joined issues with Governor Wike and the PDP. Where on earth would a Police Chief become a spokesman for the ruling party?

Idris must be told in very clear terms that Rivers State is beyond his partisan mischief. What his 28000 policemen failed to do, cannot be achieved via an irresponsible report.

Idris should know that the defence of the fundamentals of democracy outweighs his desperation to sustain himself in an office he has horribly managed.

Rivers people will never succumb to his lies and recklessness. They will stand up to defend their voices.

This horribly false report churned out by the APC Police was done at a time the Police and Governor Wike had joined issues in court in a suit challenging the validity of the IGP Kangaroo Panel. The unfortunate drama was staged in utter contempt of a court of competent jurisdiction. If the police chief can blatantly disregard the the rule of law, we can now begin to understand why this quota system IGP is ready to become a willing tool in the hands of the APC leadership.

This man, a cheer leader for APC is a sad dent on our democracy. He has abandoned his constitutional responsibilities and has adopted ill-advised political roles, deploying the police for the APC. Wherever he meets an obstacle as was the case in Rivers State, Idris uses the propaganda tools of the APC to attempt what has failed even the APC, distraction.

AMEACHI AND RIVERS APC CAUGHT NAPPING.

In their usual characteristics manner of propaganda laced with lies and deceits, the Rivers State APC under the leadership of Rotimi Ameachi is set out to decieve Rivers People claiming that inspite of the economic hardship in the country the Rivers State Governor bought 40 brand new Opel luxury buses for the sole purpose of conveying delegates to the PDP National conference slated for Port Harcourt.

There is no element of truth in the claim by the Rivers APC and Amaechi as the buses referred to by Amaechi and his cohorts are the buses bought by Amaechi's administration as Governor of Rivers for in 2011 for the National Sports Festival which Rivers people know and always see abandoned and parked at the main entrance of the Rivers State Government house. A close look at the buses shows that they are used buses, in which case Rivers people were short changed by the then administration of Amaechi.

The Rivers State Government of PDP led by His Excellency Chief Bar. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike decided to embark on the massive repair of the abandoned buses because of it's promises to provide free school buses for school pupils in the state to ease the problem of Transportation to schools and enhance qualitative learning.

This action of the Governor to repair the abandoned buses instead of buying new ones is a laudable one as it will encourage the spirit of maintenance culture among states which is lacking in governance in the country today and also geared towards saving money for other projects in a face of dwindling revenue as opposed to the wastage characteristics of the past administration of Amaechi.

With the repair of the buses going on well parents in the state would soon have some reprieve as their children would have buses to ferry them to and from school at no cost.

The latest discovery of the lies of the APC and Amaechi shows that both Amaechi and APC has no good agenda for the state and is hell bent in destroying the state and that APC is a party built on lies and deceits that thrives in propaganda.

The Coalition of Civil Societies in the Niger Delta have uncovered desperate plans by one Amina Zakari, the INEC National Commissioner in-charge of Operations to compel an INEC 7 man Committee headed by Prof. Anthonia Simbine, currently seating in Abuja to mischievously receive and announce cooked-up results for TAI L.G.A of Rivers State, contrary to a subsisting Press statement by INEC dated March 20, 2016 signed by the state REC Aniedi Ikoiwak, wherein it declared among other L.G.A’s that TAI L.G.A rerun elections was suspended following reports of violence, kidnap of INEC staff and diversion of election materials as confirmed on Camera by the E.O Emmanuel Eborty who recommended cancellation. The question therefore is; giving that election did not take place in Tai L.G.A, during the last rerun as confirmed by INEC in their press release, where is Amina Zakari getting her result from to impose on TAI people which she has directed to be brought to the Commission in Abuja for announcement?



Let it be on Record that Amina Zakari may be out to continually infringe on the rights of voters in Rivers State to do the bidding of certain preferred candidates and party, particularly in Tai L.G.A in connivance with known characters in that area. This Coalition on April 4, 2016 had raised this alarm against this alleged conspiracy between Amina Zakari and the Electoral Officer of Tai L.G.A Emmanuel Eborty both of INEC. We therefore call on the INEC national Chairman to not only ENSURE THAT A FRESH AND PROPER ELECTION RE-RUN IS CONDUCTED IN TAI L.G.A, but also investigate the activities of Amina Zakari in Rivers state rerun as she will be held responsible for any break down of Law and order.
