- The president of the Arewa Youth
Coalition, Yarima Shettima, has said that
IPOB leader of the Nnamdi Kanu, must not
go unpunished
- The Arewa youth president said the group
is reviewing the quit notice issued to the
Igbos
- Shettima has revealed that the evacuation
of the Igbo from the north was off the table
Yarima Shettima, the president of the Arewa
Youth Coalition (AYC), has said that the
leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra
(IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, must be punished.
NAIJ.com gathered that the Shettima also
disclosed that the group was reviewing its
stand on the quit notice issued to Igbos
living in north.
“The steps taken by the governors are
commendable. One, we have since expected
the governors to do what they are doing
now. Nevertheless, it is better late than
never for.

“What the Ohanaeze and other
organisations that came out to denounce
the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are
doing is commendable.
“We are also reviewing our own situation.
We are going to have a meeting soon with
other leaders of the coalition and come out
with a clear position of things and what we
intend to do in order to move forward,” he
said.
The AYC president speaking in an interview
with Nigerian Tribune, noted that Kanu is
someone “who has terrorised the country”.
He said: “We will go as far to ensure that
we take him to the international court of
justice. We will internationalise his case and
ensure that this young man is declared a
terrorist. He can’t be allowed to go just like
that.
“To us, we are seeing what he is doing as a
business venture. So, as far as we are
concerned, a country should not be run as a
banana republic where somebody can do
anything and get away with it, without
respect for the rule of law.”
However Shettima stated that the call for
the evacuation of the Igbo from the north
was not totally off the table.
“I am not saying we have completely
removed the earlier condition that they
should leave the north. However, the fact of
the matter still remains that one, we are not
violent.
“Secondly, we intend also to explore all
necessary avenues and ensure that, at the
end of the day, things are being done in
accordance with the law,” he said.
In a previous report by NAIJ.com, the south
west consultative forum has given its

- Chief Olusegun Obasanjo claimed Abacha
plotted to kill him
- The former president said God intervened
and he survived the attempt
- He narrated how Yar'Adua was killed by
Abacha's men
Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has
revealed how Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and
Chief MKO Abiola were killed by General Sani
Abacha killer squad.
The Punch reports that the former
president gave this revelation at a dinner
programme organised by an inter-
denominational Christian organisation,
Christ The Redeemer’s Friends International
of the Redeemed Christian Church of God,
Lagos Province 39 Chapter.

Obasanjo said that the late Yar’Adua was
injected with a deadly virus and that he was
next in line to be killed in detention but God
intervened in saved his life.
He said: “Two people had earlier told me
Abacha promised that three of us would
not come out of prison or detention alive;
myself. Shehu Yar Adua and MKO Abiola. And
two of them did not come out alive. So, that
I came out alive, maybe God has a purpose.
And therefore if the purpose is for me to
serve the people and by so doing, serve
God, then so be it.
“Abacha claimed that I was plotting a coup.
I wasn’t the first to be arrested. When
Shehu (Yar’Adua) was arrested, I tried to
plead for his release. When Abacha said he
didn’t know about Shehu’s arrest, I said to
him, ‘the number two man in this country
cannot be arrested without you knowing.’
“In Abacha’s plan, he left God out of it and
because he left God out of his plan, it (his
government) eventually failed. There is
God’s hand in the life of each and every one
of us and every institution. I believe that
very well.
“When I was arrested, they took me to a
house in Ikoyi (Lagos) and that became my
abode (I was) in isolation, for three months.
“In the meantime, there were national and
international pressures for my release,
(former US) President Jimmy Carter was one
of the world leaders that came to ask for
my release. Some African leaders like Yoweri
Museveni and Robert Mugabe came. I
believe it was because of those pressures
that I was released from isolation in Ikoyi
where I was under house arrest.”
Obasanjo described the day he was court-
martialled as the worst in his life.
He said: “I must say that, that day, in a split
second, it felt like the worst day in my life.
What flashed through my mind was that I
was forever ruined. I asked myself, ‘What
did I do to deserve this? Is this what I get
for serving Nigeria?’ But then, I told myself
again that this was not done to me by
Nigeria, but that one man did it for me.”
“I was to go to Jos (prison) and Yar’Adua
was to go to Port Harcourt (prison). In Jos, I
was visited by my colleagues, including
Yakubu Danjuma, Joe Garba, Domkat Bali,
many of our colleagues, and then family
members and friends.
“Then a decision was made that I was
becoming too popular in Jos prison and I
had to be transferred to. Yola prison which
is a native authority prison and I don’t need
to tell you what life was there.
“In Jos prison, before I was transferred to
Yola prison, they had decided that Shehu
Yar’Adua and myself should be poisoned.
So, they took him from Port Harcourt prison
to Abakaliki. In the process, he was injected
with the virus that killed him. The same was
supposed to be done to me. The man who
came took me from the prison to a guest
house in the GRA in Jos, said, ‘We know you
have problem with cholesterol so I have to
take your blood for a test.’ Then I said, ‘Not
on your life, I don’t have any problem of
cholesterol.’
“I was slightly diabetic. But God had taken
care of it because I was checking my blood
sugar almost on a daily basis and it had
become better than normal. So, I refused
him (the man) touching me with anything.
So, they took me to Yola and he said, ‘when
you get to where you are going, we will
come again.’”
Obasanjo revealed that the attempt to kill
him was thwarted by a prison doctor.
“The doctor was a professional man in
charge of the General Hospital in Yola. He
listened to my case that I needed special
food because I was diabetic. He said the
specialist would come to see me. The
specialist turned out to be somebody from
Okeogun in Oyo State. Two, he was a
Baptist, and three, he had heard about me
and knew me. So, he looked at me and said,
‘Don’t let anybody touch you with anything.’
“Within three weeks the man that came to
me earlier returned again and said he
wanted to take my blood. I said, ‘No, you
have to get my doctor to come and take my
blood for you.’ That was the arrangement
between me and the doctor. And my doctor
came and he brought a syringe and he took
my blood and gave it to him. He now asked
the man, ‘When would we have the
result?’The man said, ‘Within 24 hours of
my getting to Abuja.’I haven’t heard the
result till today.”
Obasanjo said after he was released from
prison, he contested the presidential
election following pressure from some well-
meaning people.
“Nigeria that was a pariah state became a
darling (of the world).

“What is the lesson for me? I developed in
prison but unfortunately I was not able to
sustain it. Maybe because there was
nothing else to do in prison except to pray
and fast. I used to fast a lot. On three
occasions, I fasted for seven days, no water,
no food… a unique power was given to me
by God.
“In all these, God did not leave me alone,
and I know that. I say to people that God
has never let me alone nor disappointed me
in spite of all. I am a sinner. It is not
because of my goodness, but because of
the grace of God, and the grace of God
continues to abound.” |
- Mrs Husseina Mohammed, a civil servant in Kogi state attached to the Teaching Service Commission who returned money mistakenly to her account - The government was quoted to have issued Mrs Husseina query for allegedly misinforming the public about the excess salary mistakenly paid into her account - Mrs Husseinna’s family, however expressed disappointment on the latest development coming from the state government insisting that the allegation against her has brought disgrace to the family Despite people's belief that a civil servant in Kogi state attached to the Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Husseina Mohammed would be compensated for her honesty in returning the sum of N1.8M mistakenly paid into her account amid the current hardship, the state government has issued her a query for allegedly misinforming the public about the excess salary mistakenly paid into her account. NAIJ.com gathered that the sanction is coming through the instruction given by the State Auditor General Alhaji Yusuf Okala who noted that Mrs Mohammed misinformed the public that she had returned the money to the state treasury even when she did not received any alert to confirm such transactions. The Auditor General explained that the officer only returned N1.6M on 3rd July this year out of the N1.8M she claimed to have returned six weeks earlier, saying “the information has caused confusion in the system”. READ ALSO: South east group blasts Obasanjo, Gowon, says former military rulers entrenched inequalities that led to Biafra agitation He also directed that her salary be put on hold over the wrong information she gave the committee. Earlier, the chairman Salary Reconciliation Committee, John Alayi explained that N1,813,186.98 was paid in excess to Mrs Mohammed because the statement from Teaching service commission mistakenly placed her on level sixteen while she was actually on grade level nine. According to him, “the committee calculated the difference between grade level nine and grade level sixteen and paid the supposed arrears to the officers account but later discovered that one Hussein Mohammed also a staff of the Teaching Service Commission (TSC) was the one on grade level sixteen and not Mrs Husseina Mohammed.” It was reported that, Mrs Mohammed said she received an alert for the excess salary and immediately filled a teller for the transfer to the state treasury on 22nd May, 2017. Meanwhile, the family of Mrs Husseinna Mohammed has expressed disappointment on the latest development coming from the state government insisting that the allegation against her has brought disgrace to the family. It was also gathered from a close family source that Mrs Husseina Mohammed has been barred from speaking to the press or risk further punishment from the Government. It was also learnt from a family source that, the said money was paid to the state coffers but were surprised that weeks later the cashier who performed the transaction failed to confirm that a particular digit was missing in the account number which the money was paid in. “We are surprise that they are coming up with this at this time that the couple honourably returned money mistakenly paid into their account. The husband has not been paid for more than 15 Months yet they didn’t bother to withhold the huge sum of money despite the current hardship. “This family barely feed three square meal just because of the harsh economy and the non payment of salary in kogi state. From what I know, they have been surviving through the wive even though the husband is also working with the state government.” “Are we supposed to blame them or blame the cashier?. The government should also blame their personnel for this defects instead of suffering an innocent soul when she made the state proud. It is unfortunate that they are getting this at this time instead of being honoured for their honesty. ” “Going by what is happening, if something of such happens again, people will be scared to come out and return such money because they don’t want to be disgraced. The news is everywhere now that they have issued her a query and her salary be placed on hold. Let be sincere, if you are the one, will you be happy? Am really disappointed I must confess.” The family source stated. It would be recalled that in June during an interview with journalist in Lokoja, Mrs Mohammed said that she returned N 1,813,186.98 to the state coffers credited to her account. She earlier explained how the money entered into her account. “One morning, while shopping, my phone beeped, indicating a text message. Upon opening the folder containing the SMS, I saw that my salary account domiciled in Zenith Bank, Lokoja Branch had been credited with N1,813,186.98 The text message stated that it was my salary for the month of March, 2017.” PAY ATTENTION: Read the news on Nigeria’s #1 new app Shocked, Mrs Mohammed told reporters that she read the message over and over again. Aside reading the message repeatedly, she took her time to count the figures displayed in the message. After a while, she abandoned the materials she had come to buy and found her way home. On getting home, she narrated her experience to her husband. After a brief interaction, they decided to refund the money, saying that it was the right thing to do. Her husband, an employee of the TSC in Lokoja, was one of those affected by the just concluded screening exercise in the state. An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has ordered parties involved in the planned recall of a senator, Dino Melaye, to maintain Statusquo. Mr. Melaye’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, explained that maintaining statusquo meant the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should halt the plan to proceed with the recall of the Kogi senator. The order was made exparte; implying the order was given without hearing the order party, in this case INEC. Mr. Melaye’s lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, confirmed the order to PREMIUM TIMES on Thursday evening. “The court gave an order exparte saying that parties should maintain statusquo until it hears our motion for interlocutory injunction; because we had filed a motion for interlocutory injunction”. “Now parties have all been asked to let things remain as they are, till September 29 when the court will entertain arguments on the interlocutory injunction seeking to stop INEC from proceeding with the recall,” Mr. Ozekhome said. INEC had listed its planned procedure for the recall process of Mr. Melaye following petitions written and signed by more than half of the electorates from Kogi West senatorial district where Mr. Melaye represents. The process had been slated to begin on July 10. Mr. Melaye approached the court shortly after the said processes were disclosed by INEC on Monday. A group of indigenes from Kogi State had also filed a separate appeal at the same court demanding the suspension of the recall process by the commission. Reacting to the various applications in court, INEC’s Chief Press Secretary, Rotimi Oyekanmi, said mere applications without court decisions were inadequate to prevent the recall process. “Only a legitimate court order or an injunction can be considered by the commission,’’ Mr. Oyekanmi had said. INEC has not reacted to the latest court decision and how it would implement it. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/236115-dino-melayes-recall-court-orders-inec-maintain-statusquo.html |

actress Tilda Swinton.
Drumduan, near Forres in Moray, prides
itself on more alternative, practical learning,
free from the mainstream pressures of
pupils sitting tests or even sitting at desks.
Tai chi-style exercise is the first class of the
day, while the teaching of science can
involve canoe building or cooking. As little
time as possible is spent in the classroom.
Head teacher Krzysztof Zajaczkowsk says the
aim of the school's curriculum is to "unleash
the true potential" of every child.
"At the moment education is still in a post-
industrial Victorian model," he says.
"What we want to do is broaden it, widen it,
make many more possibilities for young
people in terms of building their resilience,
their courage, compassion - life skills - but
also academic skills."
Ahead of the final day of term, a graduation
is held for those leaving school.
Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton, a co-
founder of Drumduan, has left the limelight
temporarily to watch her own twin children
perform at their last class concert.
While the twins and the other school leavers
do not have any qualifications, their
achievements are portfolio-based and half
will go onto further education including
degree courses.
Scarlett Winter, 18, who wants to pursue a
career in the arts says her time at the school
has been life changing.
She says: "I feel like I have gained my life
back.
"I feel like a whole, nourished individual,
while before I was pressured living in this
sort of society I felt I did not fit into."
The school says colleges and universities are
becoming more open to entrants from non-
mainstream schools like Drumduan, but Mr
Zajaczkowsk admits changing attitudes will
take time.
He describes the process as like turning an
"enormous tanker" at sea.
"It won't happen overnight, but I think
everyone knows the system has to change,"
he says.
"We are speaking to colleges and
universities and they are very excited by our
model."
Traditional educationalists may take some
convincing, but Drumduan's leaders say
demand for this alternative style of learning
is on the increase with more than 20 new
pupils due to start at the private school next
term. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-40430676

- The Ohaneze Ndigbo in South Africa has
cautioned Nnmadi Kanu over his recent
outburst that election will not hold in
Anambra
- The founder of the group in South Africa
said Kanu should be ignored
- He insisted that Anambra people have
the right to elect their leaders
Chief Jonas Udeji, the founder of Ohaneze
Ndigbo, a socio-cultural group in South
Africa, says the stance of its national body
not to boycott the Anambra governorship
election is in order.
Nnamdi Kanu, the self proclaimed leader of
the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had
called for the boycott of the Nov. 18 election
in Anambra.

But the National President of Ohaneze, John
Nwodo, had addressed legislators in
Anambra and told them to ignore the
directive.
The founder of the group in South Africa
said Kanu should be ignored
Udeji said in Johannesburg, South Africa, on
Saturday that Kanu was not qualified to give
such a directive on behalf of Igbos.
“ Ohaneze Ndigbo remains the apex body
of Igbos in Nigeria and world-wide.
“ No single individual will give any order on
behalf of Igbos if that person is not the
elected President of Ohaneze.
“ We understand Nnamdi Kanu`s emotions
about the plight of Igbos in Nigeria. But, he
should realise that we have a leader and
that is Nwodo.
“ He is the one to speak on behalf of Igbos,”
he said.
Udeji urged Anambra people and other
South East states to ignore such directive
from IPOB and elect their leaders when the
opportunity comes.
According to him, Igbos should collectively
decide on such sensitive issues under the
leadership of Ohaneze, their apex body, and
not based on an individual’s directive.
He said that Anambra people had the right
to elect their governor and other
representatives at the local government,
state and national levels.
Udeji said that Ohaneze under Nwodo`s
leadership had been focused and remained
determined to achieve set goals and
objectives. |
- A security source close to Evans investigation has revealed why the kidnapper will not be released - The source said that given Evans sophistication, he could attempt a prison break - The source also alleged that Evans could reorganise himself in prison Nigerian security operatives are jittery over the ability of notorious kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka, Evans, to organise an escape if remanded in prison custody. READ ALSO: Nigerian troops ambush, kill 5 Boko Haram terrorists According to Vanguard, Evans pose a security threat to Nigeria if he is remanded. The operatives believe that the sophisticated kidnapper could use his high profile network to obtain some respite in prison and organise a break-out eventually. It was also learnt that all the monies and properties criminally obtained by the kidnapper during his 20-year reign have not been traced and in such a situation where he has access to such vast sums of money, he could use his money while in prison to reoganise his network and set up a new gang. The source said that given Evans sophistication, he could attempt a prison break NAIJ.com learnt that the police have obtained a court order and as such, are legally backed to detain the high profile kidnapper for the next three months before his prosecution. The security source claimed that top criminals with access to huge sums of money when arrested are treated with respect by prison officials and consequently given access to social amenities like cell phones and internet connections. The source said: “High-profile criminals enjoy VIP treatments in prison custody because they have money. We have learned that these suspects usually pay the warders to be detained in cells that are classified as VIP, and they would have access to their phones as well as the internet. These suspects don’t usually feel like they are in prison custody because they enjoy unlimited access to visitors anytime. “Since his money has not been recovered completely because we had information that he has hotels in Ghana and South Africa, it will be wrong to send him to prison. He is also said to have auto spare parts outlets in Ghana and some other Africa countries. People working for him are numerous and the Police are yet to arrest all of them. If he is remanded in prison with these assets unrecovered, Evans could rule any prison. Evans, can be in prison and easily recruit men outside, radicalise them, buy them arms and send them out for operations. Evans can organise a jailbreak "Evans could enjoy the security of the prison and unleash terror on the society. We have seen a lot of criminals like him and they have done same “We have had several cases like that in the past. We had the case of Henry Chibueze, alias Vampire, who kidnapped and killed several persons and was arrested in 2015 by the Department of State Security Service, DSS. While in prison, Vampire sponsored several groups, who carried out kidnappings on his behalf. Having raised enough money he staged an escape from the prison while he was being taken to court. Luckily for us, he was gunned down, a few weeks after his escape. There were also other cases in Abuja and Port Harcourt Rivers state, recently. Backing his claim that criminals in prisons could still orchestrate crime in the free society, the source highligeted the escapades a suspect in Kuje and Port Harcourt prisons. He said the suspect masterminded several fraudulent acts while locked up in the prison. “When members of the syndicate were arrested, they confessed that their leader was serving in Kuje Prison. One of the cases in Port Harcourt saw a detainee operating a massive kidnap gang. The kidnapper had organized several kidnappings before members of his gang were apprehended and he was exposed.” https://www.naij.com/1112786-evans-escape-prison-security-operatives-jittery-notorious-kidnapper.html |
i was reading through my news feed on facebook and i saw a post which goes thus "Legits can only Feed you, it can't make u a billionaire. No wonder all billionaires got something covered.". Nairalander have ur say |
Ikeja Computer village arguably the largest commercial center for phone and PC marketers in West Africa hence it's the hub for different kinds of mobile phones. Well, the place also has its bad news as it's also known as the den for stealing and selling stolen phones. Over the years, there has being lots of reported cases of stolen phones traced to Ikeja Computer village Lagos. Because of this evil act, tracking stolen phones has become a challenge most especially in Lagos Nigeria. So a group known as the Computer and Allied Product Dealers Association of Nigeria (CAPDAN) , a trade association of Ikeja Computer Village market traders, has collaborated with a software company to develop a web portal which enables the tracking of stolen phones. But on a serious note, it seems the Nigerian government doesn’t have unified database for all Nigerians despite all the NIMC registration, SIM Reg and all that maybe this will have helped to track easily each Nigerian to their smartphone. Well, maybe the Gov’t can learn something from this initiative. HOW TO CHECK IT? The ambassador said the first American

Reality Check verdict: Yes, England are
terrible at penalty shootouts, and the senior
men's team has the worst record in the
world.
England's under-21s lost their European
Championship semi-final against Germany
on Tuesday, 4-3 on penalties.
It brought back memories of previous
penalty defeats by England, which may give
the impression that the country is not very
good at shootouts.
That impression is confirmed by a look at
the data.
England's senior men's team, senior
women's team and men's under-21s have a
record of won two, lost 12.
Penalty shootouts were introduced in the
1976 European Championships and the
1978 World Cup. But England's men did not
take part in one until 1990.
The senior men were knocked out of the
World Cups in 1990, 1998 and 2006 on
penalties and the European Championships
in 1996, 2004 and 2012.
Their only win was against Spain in the
quarter-finals of Euro 96, a tournament in
which they were beaten on penalties in the
semi-finals.
No team has lost more penalty shootouts at
World Cups and European Championships
than England (Italy have lost the same
number, but they've won more).
Making up the numbers was England's
defeat by Belgium on penalties in the King
Hassan II International Cup Tournament in
Morocco, which as a warm-up before France
98 purists might decide to exclude. Drawn
matches were decided by penalties (without
extra time) to ensure there would be an
eventual winner, although the structure of
the tournament was that each of the four
teams played only two matches.
The senior women have taken part in three
shootouts and lost them all.
They lost the final of the 1984 European
Championships to Sweden, the play-off
match for seventh place against China at the
complicated Algarve Cup in 2005 and to
France in the quarter-final of the 2011
World Cup.
The men's under-21s competed in, and lost,
one of the more epic shootouts of all time,
13-12 to Holland in the semi-final of the
2007 European Championships - the same
stage at which they were knocked out on
penalties on Tuesday.
But the under-21s do have a penalty
shootout win to their names, having beaten
Sweden 5-4 on penalties, also at the semi-
final stage, of the European Championships
of 2009 www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-40432001

Companies across the globe are reporting
that they have been struck by a major
ransomware cyber-attack.
British advertising agency WPP is among
those to say its IT systems have been
disrupted as a consequence.
Ukrainian firms, including the state power
company and Kiev's main airport, were
among the first to report issues.
The Chernobyl nuclear power plant has also
had to monitor radiation levels manually
after its Windows-based sensors were shut
down.
The Russian anti-virus firm Kaspersky Lab
said its analysis showed that there had
been about 2,000 attacks - most in Ukraine,
Russia and Poland.
The international police organisation
Interpol has said it was "closely monitoring"
the situation and liaising with its member
countries.
Experts suggest the malware is taking
advantage of the same weaknesses used by
the Wannacry attack last month.
"It initially appeared to be a variant of a
piece of ransomware that emerged last
year," said computer scientist Prof Alan
Woodward.
"The ransomware was called Petya and the
updated version Petrwrap.
"However, now that's not so clear."
The malware hall of fame
What can you do to protect your
business?
The Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky
Lab reported that it believed the malware
was a "new ransomware that has not been
seen before" despite its resemblance to
Petya.
As a result, the firm has dubbed it NotPetya.
Kaspersky added that it had detected
suspected attacks in Poland, Italy, Germany,
France and the US in addition to the UK,
Russia and Ukraine.
Andrei Barysevich, a spokesman for security
firm Recorded Future, told the BBC such
attacks would not stop because cyber-
thieves found them too lucrative.
"A South Korean hosting firm just paid $1m
to get their data back and that's a huge
incentive," he said. "It's the biggest incentive
you could offer to a cyber-criminal."
A bitcoin wallet associated with the
outbreak has received several payments
since the outbreak began. The wallet
currently holds three bitcoins (£5,640;

The attacks come two months after another
global ransomware assault, known as
Wannacry, which caused major problems for
the UK's National Health Service.
Veteran security expert Chris Wysopal from
Veracode said the malware seemed to be
spreading via some of the same Windows
code loopholes exploited by Wannacry. Many
firms did not patch those holes because
Wannacry was tackled so quickly, he added.
Those being caught out were also industrial
firms that often struggled to apply software
patches quickly.
"These organisations typically have a
challenge patching all of their machines
because so many systems cannot have
down time," he said. "Airports also have this
challenge."
Copies of the virus have been submitted to
online testing systems that check if security
software, particularly anti-virus systems,
were able to spot and stop it.
"Only two vendors were able to detect it so
many systems are defenceless if they are
unpatched and relying on anti-virus," he
said.
Ukraine seems to have been particularly
badly hit this time round.
Reports suggest that the Kiev metro system
has stopped accepting payment cards while
several chains of petrol stations have
suspended operations.
Ukraine's deputy prime minister has
tweeted a picture appearing to show
government systems have been affected.
His caption reads: "Ta-daaa! Network is

Author: Wale AkinolaEditor’s note: Biafra agitation has been on the front burner of discourse in Nigeria in the last few months. Since the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu’s release by the Abuja High Court, there have been mixed reactions about the agitation even among the Igbo elders. In a message sent to NAIJ.com, a Facebook user, Okechukwu Oleh lists some conditions that would permanently end the Biafra agitation in order to allow one Nigeria. A Yoruba friend asked me: Under what conditions would you support "One Nigeria" and let go of the Biafra agitation and let it die down and finally laid to rest for good? Here was my response: 1. Close down Lagos ports and open up PH, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports. 2. Cancel all direct and major connecting flights to Lagos and Abuja airports only local connecting flights will be allowed. While this is being done, open up Enugu, Calabar, Owerri, Asaba, Uyo and PH to international flights direct and major connecting flights. READ ALSO: Nnamdi Kanu drops another bombshell, reveals why he asked for gun from US-based Nigerians (video) 3. Ask all international and diplomatic missions to move their embassies and consulates from Lagos, Kano and Abuja to Enugu, PH and Calabar. OPINION: Nothing will end Biafra agitation except THESE 8 conditions are met 4. All federal governments’ agencies in Lagos and Abuja shall be relocated to Enugu, PH and Calabar. CBN, NNPC, e.t.c shall and must relocate to PH, Calabar and Enugu. 5. All multinational companies in Lagos and Abuja, shall and must relocate their offices to PH, Calabar and Enugu. 6. All oil companies must relocate their head offices to PH, as the oil capital of Nigeria. 7. Let the northern children gain admission into federal schools with 300 score points while the South Eastern Children should gain admission with only 20 score points. 8. Let all federal road projects in the North/ SW should be handled by one local companies and the one in the SE/SS should be handled by Julius Berger and foreign construction companies. If these conditions can be fulfilled and implemented for 50 years, we can try one Nigeria and let see if you the North and South-west will like it for a month. Meaning that Yorubas and Hausas need to get international visas shall travel to PH, Calabar or Enugu to do that and same with flying or connecting flights, same with shipping and importing their goods, etc. The Yoruba friend replied: You can’t be serious, this is wickedness and I said. Really? Don’t you think South and South. Eastern part of Nigeria has been suffering and enduring this very same wickedness for over 50 years? He was quiet for a few seconds and said: Wow, you are right but it never occurred to me. I said, that’s the problem with One Nigeria, those who are benefiting from it, love it and would love to maintain the status quo. Let each region develops at her own pace, with Airport, seaports, industries, major projects open to be developed in any part of Nigeria without government interference or due to tribalism and nepotism! Let Nigeria be fair to all irrespective of tribe, religion, and place of birth. Let there be true federalism and resources control, with the elimination of quota system and federal character in Nigeria. Let's have equal respect for one another irrespective of where the person is coming from in Nigeria. That is what Biafra agitation is all about. Google has been fined 2.42bn euros ($2.7bn; £2.1bn) by the European Commission after it ruled the company had abused its power by promoting its own shopping comparison service at the top of search results. The amount is the regulator's largest penalty to date against a company accused of distorting the market. The ruling also orders Google to end its anti- competitive practices within 90 days or face a further penalty. The US firm said it may appeal. However, if it fails to change the way it operates the Shopping service within the three-month deadline, it could be forced to make payments of 5% of its parent company Alphabet's average daily worldwide earnings. Based on the company's most recent financial report, that amounts to about $14m a day. The commission said it was leaving it to Google to determine what alterations should be made to its Shopping service rather than specifying a remedy. "What Google has done is illegal under EU antitrust rules," declared Margrethe Vestager, the European Union's Competition Commissioner. "It has denied other companies the chance to compete on their merits and to innovate, and most importantly it has denied European consumers the benefits of competition, genuine choice and innovation." Ms Vestager added that the decision could now set a precedent that determines how she handles related complaints about the prominence Google gives to its own maps, flight price results and local business listings within its search tools. Google had previously suggested that Amazon and eBay have more influence over the public's spending habits and has again said it does not accept the claims made against it. "When you shop online, you want to find the products you're looking for quickly and easily," a spokesman said in response to the ruling. "And advertisers want to promote those same products. That's why Google shows shopping ads, connecting our users with thousands of advertisers, large and small, in ways that are useful for both. "We respectfully disagree with the conclusions announced today. We will review the Commission's decision in detail as we consider an appeal, and we look forward to continuing to make our case." Fast growth Google Shopping displays relevant products' images and prices alongside the names of shops they are available from and review scores, if available. The details are labelled as being "sponsored", reflecting the fact that, unlike normal search results, they only include items that sellers have paid to appear. On smartphones, the facility typically dominates "above-the-fold" content, meaning users might not see any traditional links unless they scroll down.
