Jobs/Vacancies / Six Standard Job Interview Questions And How Best To Tackle Them by mekuseze: 8:21am On Sep 01, 2009
Note: I am only going to give general guides on how to answer these questions so that each person can now develop his or her own unique way of answering them. It doesn't pay to have everybody paraphrasing the answers the same way.

1) WHAT ARE YOUR WEAKNESSES?: This question is always a constant at job interviews. Simply tell the interviewer what honestly is your weakness as far as it is not a weakness that will make them think so poorly of you. But also make an effort to let them know you are working on it.

2) WHY DID YOU LEAVE YOUR LAST JOB?: Don't ever let them know you left your las job because of poor pay but reveal that you aspired for greater challenges and opportunities to excel which you believe their company will offer you.

3) HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH CRITICISM?: Knowing fully well that criticism can be constructive as well as destructive tell the panel that you are always comfortable with constructive criticism but that when confronted destructively you try to get the salient points of the critic and mind your business.

4) WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN TEN YEARS?: This is a question meant to know your future ambitions. Let them know that you envisage a future where you'll be fully part of the team that is positioning the company as a global, regional or local leader as the case may be.

5) HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH AUTHORITY?: Tell the interviewer that you are aware of the tendency of people vested with authority to begin to act in unruly ways and let them know you have always reminded yourself each time you are vested with authority that it come with responsibility thus you try to remain level headed and avoid acting in ways to undermine the common goals of all involved.

6) WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR PREVIOUS MANAGER?: Say what you think of him simply and honestly. Don't go bashing on him neither should you praise him to the high heavens. Remember everyone has faults so they won't believe you if you keep on saying he's a nice, wonderful 100% okay man or woman. If he was like that then why aren't you there working for him.

The interviewer(s) is intelligent and thus you should be careful to treat him as such because any attempt to make him look foolish by lies will boomerang on you. Be modest in your answers and above all, relax and answer the questions as if you are getting acquinted with him.
Hope this helps somebody .

All the best.

Jobs/Vacancies / Tricky Interview Questions That Most Jobseekers Fail To Answer by mekuseze: 1:21pm On Aug 19, 2009
While job seekers can use the power of the Internet to thoroughly research prospective employers, their performance in an interview will make or break the chances for a job offer. By rehearsing interview questions, they can become better prepared to demonstrate how they can benefit an employer. Here's a list of the top 15 interview questions from the country's leading employers, to help job seekers prepare for job interviews:

1) Tell me about yourself.
2) What do you know about our company?
3) Why do you want to work for us?
4) What unique qualities or abilities would you bring to this job?
5) What are your major strengths and weaknesses?
6) How long do you plan to stay at our company? Where do you see yourself in five years?
7) Tell me about a time that you failed at something, and what you did afterwards.

The way you answer this questions will go a long way to determine how successful you'll be in an interview. Good answers to these questions are welcome.
