bablon20: Did u submit the court order yourself physically at the bank or u e-mail it to them. What do they mean by 'they can only link the bank'? I'm having the same issue presently, my court order is yet to come out, I just hope I get my money back from Opay and Paga. I submitted physical but both of the banks turned it down and gave me a form to fill, after filling the forms both of them referred to the police should in case I was not satisfied with their processes |

Crime › Re: See How Police Treated Me When I Lost Money (photos) by Melagros(op): 2:28pm On Feb 18 |
Hedonisco: It doesn't make sense to involve the police in a case where a mere N200k is involved if your aim is to recover the money.
You can only do so if your real aim is to teach the thief/fraudster a lesson and wouldn't mind spending more than the N200k in question to achieve that aim.
In Nigeria, given how messed up the system is, you need to apply common sense in most of these things. Everything no be agidi 'due process'. The more you look, the less you see. The aim is to know the identity of the fraudster because of speculation |
Crime › Re: See How Police Treated Me When I Lost Money (photos) by Melagros(op): 2:26pm On Feb 18 |
bablon20: Paga is now a safe haven for fraudster to operate and go scotfree. @poster, with your court order you should be able to get your money back from the bank, just ask for refund avd forget about the identity of the scammer. One has to be very careful these days because if u r scammed no policemen will help you recover your money, unless you too dupe someone to get your money back. My brother, I did that but the bank refused, they said it is only my bank can write to them, then my bank said that they can only link the account |
Crime › Re: See How Police Treated Me When I Lost Money (photos) by Melagros(op): 2:19pm On Feb 18 |
Powerhouse5050: As enlightened as you are:
Don’t make any payment to the police without asking for the receipt, there would definitely not be a receipt and you also would have insisted on no receipt no payment. My brother in this our country...police to issue you receipts for transaction? |

kernniejay: And you still carry your hand pay N60k to criminals after losing N200k to a thief. Have you seen where police help a Nigerian track any lost item before, except the wealthy class or those with big connection. It is better to trust a bandit than a police. Bro eyes don open now |

QuinQQ: Thanks 4 sharing this. Same thing happened to me. I lost my new i-phone in a hotel. But in my case I think it is the hotel manager I gave the money to give police that kept the money. Mynd44, OAM4J, nlfpmod What surprised me the most was when a female sergeant said that one day then go catch that thief wei thief your money don't worry, because then say 99days are for the thief and one day is for the owner God dey, then I asked her, is that what they taught you at the police training school during recruitment? That a criminal should commit havoc to the society 99times before we use prayer to apprehend him/her? What a shame |
