So I grew up in a Christian home and from a very early age... around 7 or 8- I know that there was something wrong with Christianity. I couldn't figure it out until I went down the rabbit hole.

As a secondary school leaver back in the days, I always wanted to be an army officer so I was contemplating joining the army or going to the university and at that time it was the early days of boko haram but I had access to news media and social media and I saw how the families of fallen soldiers were treated, as you narrated, they were ignored while politicians feasted largessely. That was when I killed the idea of joining the military or serving Nigeria in any way, shape or form.
I just want to point out some flaws in you reasoning and lifestyle choices.
1. Service to country should be treated as a paying or regular job, imagine a situation where you don't get paid for 6 months, how would you feed yourself? So it's either you are from a rich family or government should take care of social costs and needs e.g housing, electricity, water, and general utilities for free. If these things are not fulfilled, Don't join the army or any law enforcement. Then things insurance and pension should be seen to swift.

2. The second mistake is accountability. You didn't hold them accountable because you hoping for crumbs.

All social media influencers, all music artists, all media personalities, all politicians, all civil servants, all high class business men, are all cowards.
Anyone who is too obsessed with materialism is a coward.
Anyone who is keen on popular culture is a coward.
Anyone who is ignorantly religious is not only a coward but a Canon Foder.

This issue of terrorists invasion has really opened my eyes to the nature of man. I have studied a whole lot of different personalities and how they react to the crisis.

I don't know about you, but God made me in a unique way.
One thing that has greatly affected my life is growing up in a Middle class/Rich Family. This negatively affected me because I turned out to not have respect for money. I treat everyone equally both rich and poor. In my mind back then I always thought to myself , "How do human beings allow a piece of paper to control them ?"
Do you know that money influences the way people behave towards others? I mean I have been in different situations and I was shocked how people who once respected and revered you could switch and become the direct opposite because they feel you have no money left. This blew my mind so much that I haven't even recovered from the shock, it still haunts me and is affecting my relationship with people. Whenever I meet someone new and they are all nice, I just start imagining that this person wouldn't be nice if I am poor or broke and immediately I start hating that person silently. I don't steal, cheat, lie or feel jealous about anyone and when I learn that some people stealing, lying and Jealousy are part of their nature... you see, in my mind I feel those kind of people are not fully human and as such, should be disposed off. I also don't judge people, I don't tell people what to do, so if you can't figure out what is right from wrong and you refused to seek help became of pride by asking questions then you shouldn't be anywhere close to me.
Now, the reason why many countries are experiencing problems is because the minds of their population has been damaged beyond repair due to the fact that they absorb and accept a whole heap of Gabage into their reality. Imagine, a person who has accepted insecurity, intimidation, poverty, negligence, theft, lack of basic necessities, jumping molue, voting in elections,etc into their reality...
It is better to watch and acknowledge negative and/or dehumanizing behaviors and Patterns without internalizing it or taking responsibility for it. You master the act of emotional detachment and protecting yourself from being drawn into conflict or taking on others' problems. This involves observing a situation, recognizing the emotions or actions, but consciously choosing not to be emotionally or mentally "infected" by them. Because once you allow yourself to be infected over a long period of time without having a breakthrough or change of scenery, it is possible that such a person would never rise above his or her present situation.
And then you have elders and leaders who are criminals and have no iota of wisdom. When you see a 60yrs old man or woman still trying to dress and behave and like a 25yrs old, then that person is suffering from a curse. The curse of eternal immaturity. Now imagine this, a 75+ years old man, holding the highest political power in the land, instead of thinking about the welfare of the nation and how to uplift and better the lives of the masses, he is more interested in buying a New yatch, private jet or the latest Ferrari or you see a 50yrs old woman, dressed
like an 18yrs old girl, dressing in tight and skimpy dress, going to Night clubs, getting drunk, having sex with random strangers... THAT IS A SIGN THAT SUCH A
PERSON IS SUFFERING FROM THE CURSE OF ETERNAL IMMATURITY. THEY MIGHT BE PHD HOLDERS BUT THEY HAVE NO WISDOM TO PASS DOWN TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION. person is cursed for life!

As adults, we are supposed to be able to guide, mould, teach, educate, lead and understand the plight of the younger generation. You should be able to teach them true history, religion, and acceptable social behaviors. You don't need to force them because not everyone can understand, so kids are cursed to be wayward. So when you meet such kids, don't force just allow them to do what they want, observe them and if you it's impossible for you to change them let them understand that you can't continue with them, I will advise you to cast such persons away from your environment. If a kid is stubborn and disobedient, allow him to go and experience life on his own.
