CultureRe: Why Do Yoruba Guys Mostly Marry Igbo Girls Than Vice Versa? by member58: 5:24am On Jun 08, 2012
Ileke-IdI:
Na so we see am o. Na NRI PRIEST start am with his cousin's story o. Igbos men on NL are like dominoes effect, there's always one clown leader the rest follows.
When one falls, the rest falls.
yeah, from cousins to brothers, fathers and father's friend. grin

but i still dont see the big deal here. igbo men dont like yoruba women just like yoruba women dont like igbo men. the feeling seems mutual to me. so i dont know why people are coming up with stories to make it seem one-sided and telling us stories about non-existent cousins and brothers that cannot be verified.

i often wonder why igbo women are stereotyped as good cooks. what do they cook? apart from nkwobi, all their other food sucks esp that smelling akpu. their pounded yam is tend to be very soft and watery while their akpu will be strong like stone. a lot of igbos do not eat food like snail but find nkita a delicacy. and those are the older generation of igbo women. this new generation cant cook shyte but have perfected the act of making indomie. grin grin

lol.. from what im getting from ur analogy. it seems yoruba women and igbo men are the picky ones coz yoruba men and igbo women are the good looking ones. sounds dumb (no offence)

anonymous6: The main fact is majority of Yoruba's, the majority of igbo's, the majority of Hausa's and etc will always prefer and most likely just want to marry their own, it is the minority of the groups that don't mind it; it is the samething with majority of white men preferring their own & dating/marrying their white women, the majority of Asian men preferring and only wanting to date/marry their own Asian women, and etc. That is just the way it is. However that doesn't mean inter-tribal marriages are bad but they don't represent the majority, so people shouldn't be giving themselves a heart attack about it.
actually inter-tribal marriages do not represent the majority anywhere even amongst minorities. the majority of people within ethnic groups in nigeria tend to stay within that group. and even when they are married outside their group, it is most times within their immediate neighbors.

NRI PRIEST: And I want you to remember that you started this!!

NRI PRIEST: I know my punch was below the belt but you started it first and I am ready for you; In mission road in Bini there is an intersecting street called "Ogbagwe" and you will see your sisters at their best!
awww, u are so outdated.grin ugbague does not exist anymore. that was the spot where our fathers and grandpas did their thing. and that area of benin was/is populated by hausa and igbo traders. so the sluts there would also have been igbos. but ugbague is dead and gone so no young man goes to ugbague looking for whores.

the whores are mostly at the junctions of hotels across benin that is where u will find assorted igbo women you can choose from. time-out at airpot road used to be their favorite spot due to its proximity to the airport until they were flushed out because they were becoming a nuisance to motorists at night. so get lost with that ugbague shyte and try another line.

NRI PRIEST: So,are Bini women posessed shameful scum of PROSTITUTION??
at least they have decency to take the shameful trade out of their home country. but what the igbo women do? they are the whores all over nigeria. u claim to have lived in benin, so u would know that it doesnt take more than 10k to get an igbo slut from the universities in edo..esp BIU.

mimifonwon: lmaooo, no, i didnt say that, i am saying my mother's environments and the people she met during her excursions with her dad, helped in creating a schema of the type of man she wanted. Her dad was on appointment mostly in the west and a bit in the north, then cameroon, through her childhood and early teens. She went to the east during breaks. Igbos travel alot, some might even say they are great visitors to have, but there still a lot of people in certain townships and villages that have nt even left their village talk of other igbo states. I am just saying. Exposure is not all its appears to be, one must learn from it.
so from this ur recent post, esp the bolded part, it seems once igbo women like ur mum leave the jungle, igbo men become the last on their list on the type of men they want. at least that was what happened to ur mum. immediately after she got some exposure due to the nature of her father's work... she didnt seem to fancy igbo men much because it was not as if she lost touch with the jungle, becos she always went back to visit, she just didnt fancy the jungle men who were swinging from tree to tree like tarzan chanting awuhawuha!!! grin grin
