odumchi: Here's the hairstyle that Ezeagu is talking about, although this is a male.^^^ i wonder why the contemporary ‘black’ african man and woman no longer want to grow and keep their hair. low-cut (men) and weave (women) nor dey let dem see road again which actually help in perpetuating the stereotype that 'blacks' don’t have hair. hey, culture is not static and evolves i guess, but nice hairstyle on that ovbigbo! |
she's not fine. |
oma easy vbe germany.. ![]() |
Ileke-IdI:a man who knows his place in society is never a bootycall, he calls the booty(s) and they line up! Chaiii!! Stop that one o @ last sentence. The Igbo red hat looks like the version of Ekiti hat (comes in multiple colors).lol..ok. if it makes u happy. |
lol..how can u say that? the kabiyesi hat has a distinctive look that makes it unique. isnt it what the alaafin rocks? hey, i guess it is reserved for powerful monarchs... but that ur ekiti hat looks like a blue version of the igbo red hat which also comes in black.. |
staying on topic... i love this dashiki i bought in accra, i love rocking it with my igbo red hat (nairaland igbos, bite me!). then my kabiyesi cap in damask can never go wrong. and of course, as an ovbiedo kpataki, my long sleeve iwu with the royal swords ada and eben crested on it, is always a killer! |
lol..funny! but here is the deal: -- edo philosophy believes the world will not come to an end, hence 'agbonifo' is a common edo name meaning 'world without end' so all u christian fanatics waiting for the rapture and the end of the world, i know u will have to wait forever. oh, plus the mayans. ![]() |
shymmex: @#%&@/exotiklol...i thought the argument was about gele? but yeah, oduduwa is revered by edo people and ive never read any edo person make snide remarks about him on this forum. |
this is the problem when a word from a group is adopted for something over other words from other groups. the group from which the word was adopted starts claiming invention. gele means headscarf nothing more, nothing less. other groups have their words for headscarf. hell, even fulani women tie their hair and im sure they would have a word for it thats if the word has not been rendered obsolete thanks to the almighty gele. ![]() but tying hair with damask, im not sure how that started. |
Ileke-IdI:that comment is not clear. designs as how? designs of the damask that the gele is tied with? are the damask produced in nigeria? |
biko ye me ego |
lol..student? u must be an 'adult education' student coz i always pictured u to be a housewife in her mid forties with at least 4 kids! haha.. ![]() anywayz, nothing serious was just having fun with the topic.. catch u ladies later! |
Nigerian ladies are naturally stylish.quoting that comment for truth. nigerian women are all naturally stylish and can do their own thing without going to ife!! ![]() |
*Ileke-IdI: but it is true na, i can tell broke azz lokitos a mile away and even on the internet no matter how sophicated they wanna seem |
im taking the pictures down though, because i know the couple and not too comfortable posting their pics on here. ![]() |
*Ileke-IdI:nope it wasnt sewn it was tied. and now it is design of the cloth and the headtie is very local? but no longer slapshed? lol.. keep looking for what to say. and you wouldnt wear it because u cant afford it... it is not for broke azz lokitos do. |
*Ileke-IdI:splashed as how? it wasnt a mix and match but two colors from two headties that were proportionately positioned and tied to become one. thats both genius and flamboyance.. segun gele should catch up. |
*Ileke-IdI:nope! i disagree. it looks on her. |
