Vicjustice:
I think you already answered your own question.
Well, to clarify that, as a married woman, it is supposed to be YOU or your HUSBAND who should be doing the sponsorship, not your father: Yet, it is not an entirely wrong thing to have one's father as a sponsor; but the fact is, a person who is not capable of self sponsorship is not deemed worthy of a tourist visa because, s/he can hardly satisfy the Visa Officer of the availability (and most importantly, the accessibility) of the fund nor can s/he satisfy the Visa Officer of the intention to return to Nigeria

With all due respect, I dont totally agree with Vicjustice. There is nothing wrong in parent sponsoring a married woman and her kids when comes to either UK or US tourist visa or student visa. Anytime I apply for either UK or US visa for myself and my daughter, I always use my father documents as my sponsor despite the fact that I work and they always grant our visas. kalari just ensure you include your statement of account as well. I applied for UK 10 years visa last year with my daughter and my father sponsored us and the visas were granted eventhough I'm married.

Vicjustice: Limited rights of appeal means, NO rights of appeal whatsoever: therefore, there is nothing you can do about this very case, it has been decided and is closed.
But you can correct the error in the future; ensure that your bank statement reflects evidence of your income (wages/salaries) and support your future applications with payslips of same: this is more acceptable than to lodge lump amount of money from unverifiable sources into your account. Cheers

He has a right of appeal but his right of appeal is limited to the grounds refered to in section 84(1)(c)of the nationality immigration and asylum act. the ground is "that the decision is unlawful under section 6 of the Human Rights Act 1998 (c. 42) (public authority not to act contrary to Human Rights Convention) as being incompatible with the appellant’s Convention rights". He can also ask for an administrative review of the decision or reapply.

earthrealm: on the uk site..they said a new form and fees will be issued on april6th...i hv searched for the new form and i cant see it..all i see is the old 2010 general visitor form.....can some1 throw more light on this?

The new form is similar to the old one, the only major difference is the question on whether you have ever received medical treatment in the UK. check out the form on this web site. http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/visas/vaf1a.pdf

It depends on if your application is a fresh application or is for renewal. if it is a fresh application it can take between 3-6 weeks(15 to 30 working days) but if it is renewal it can take between 2-4 weeks(10 to 20 working days)

avenza: please house i need your best advice concerning my visa application refusal, which is stated below

you state that you will fund your proposed trip to the UK and have submitted your personal bank statements evidence of finance. You state you monthly income to be 180,000(£720) however the credits and balances in your account are not commensurate with your declared monthly income
you have not provided an ITCC or any further evidence of your stated income and I am therefore not satisfied that your income or employment is as claimed. Therefore on the balance of probabilities I am not satisfied that you will be maintained and accommodated in the uk without working or having recourse to public funds or are able to meet the cost of return or an onward journey by paragraph 1(vi) and (vii) of HC395
I therefore refuse your application because I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant paragraph of the united kingdom immigration rules.
Your right of appeal is limited to the grounds refered to in section 84(1)© of the nationality immigration and asylum act 2002 (www.legislation.gov.uk) .

so pls i need your advice on the best thing to do concerning this my case, i submitted all the necessary documents, tax clearance, certificate of incorporation, bank statement, receipt of transaction and many others, i have over 2 million in my account with transactions on it, so i don't know how else they want me to prove to them.

I’m so sorry about your refusal. if you believe you have presented all relevant information and documents and u also believe the ECO erred in law or did not consider all the evidence u presented to him before making his decision, then you may consider appealing the decision of the ECO if you made a family visit application but if it is a general visit application you can ask for an administrative review of the decision. However, if you are in a hurry to travel to the UK, you may reapply and address all the issues the ECO raised your refusal letter but there is no guarantee that same thing will not repeat itself again.
I had similar experience last year when I applied for 10 years family visa. I appealed the decision, I was given a hearing date by the Immigration Tribunal, however, the UK embassy in Abuja called me to come and submit my passport and my 10 year visa was endorsed on it. So you have different options to explore. Please let me emphasis this before u appeal make sure u are upright and have evidence to support u claims.

lolatom: Hey everybody,
I just got a UK visiting visa, I stated on my application that I would be travelling on the 17th of April to return on the 21st but I actually would like to travel on the 14th of april to return on the same 21st.
I wouldn't know if this would give me problems at the port of entry because I used a hotel reservation and not an invitation letter and the reservation clearly shows my bookings from the 17th to 21st.
Would you guys advice I travel on the 14th of april as against the 17th of april I stated on my application?
My visa was issued on the 28th of march.
I am counting on you guys for advice please.

menia: I applied for UK visa with my husband and daughter July last year, our applications were refused and we appealed the decision in September. My husband and I lived in the UK for about seven years before we moved back to our country. The hearing of the appeal is set for 6 February 2012, however, I received a call from the British High Commission yesterday 24 January 2012 to come and submit our passports. We went to British High Commission today 25 January 2012 to submit of passport but we were given a slip to come back on the 22 February to collect our passport. I don’t know what this mean. Can we still go ahead with the appeal on the 6 February or what.
Appeal works..... we got the 10years visa.

Could you rephrase your question. Are u saying the Judge agreed with the ECO's decision or disagreed with the ECO's decision, The judge will normally inform the First-tier Tribunal (""Tribunal ""wink of his decision no more than 10 days after the hearing. The Tribunal will then send that decision (known as a 'determination') to everyone involved both the appellant and the respondent. If your appeal is successful, that means if the judge allows your appeal, his determination will be sent to the relevant visa section, which will in turn contact you. It can take up to 4 weeks for determinations to reach the relevant visa section, and a further 8 weeks for them to be processed. The visa section will contact you using the contact details provided on your appeal form. you need not contact the visa section until 12 weeks after the date when you or your representative received the judge's decision. This date will be stated on your written determination.

HighSpot:

Good day everyone,
I am new to this forum and will like to ask for an advice.
I am married to my husband for a year now. He is British and he resides there. We met in Nigeria in 2009 and we got married March 2010. After a long deliberation, we both decided that i travel to meet him cos our plan initially was for him to start a biz here in Naija which i was willing to support all the way cos i had a job i loved here. I applied for settlement visa after all n was refused on the ff grounds:

1. two of my hubby's recent bank statements had an overdraft( he gave me a lot so i just picked d recents, we didnt have an idea that d over-drafted ones were there. My mistake,i take that.

2. second reason is that there are no evidences that we met since 2009. though they acknowledged our pre- wedding and wedding pictures but they seem very recent for them to base their decision on.

3.They mentioned they don't know the funds available to me personally but i submitted all my payslips and printed out my recent account statement from my bank. Not that i had a fat balance but the transactions on my account shows my usual savings and withdrawals.

We went ahead to appeal since September, we got an acknowledgement same month, and since then been waiting for the hearing date. The solicitor in the Uk said we have good grounds to rectify all the mistakes and we trust God. For me,it's like waiting till eternity cos i recently resigned from my job for personal reasons and the waiting is now worse than i thought, plus staying separately is financially straining us cos btw our wedding and now, my hubby has been home 4 times, 2 of which were unpaid absence from work.
Just need some encouragements and pls be honest with me, do you think we can nail this?
Thanks and God bless.

I totally agree with Omo_Tier1 Patience is the key word when it comes to appeal. I also appeal my visa refusal in September and ECO overturn his decision in January and i was asked to pick up my visa in February. I would advise u keep praying. I'm sure the result will be favourable to you. Before i forget, please make sure you send all relevant documents addressing all the issues raised by the ECO in your refusal letter.

there is nothing stopping you from reapplying, just make sure u get everything right this time. make sure u address all the reasons for your last refusal. you can use hotel reservation. if u r going to the UK as a tourist, u need to fill the general visit form but if u r going to visit a family member u have to fill the family visit form. u can print the form online or go to the VAC office and pick one up
