ndewogermany:I have written to their headquarters in Berlin thru that email address bt still they haven't replied me. please do u knw watelse I can do? they still came for my baby's document verification cos they said I shld pay 100k at the embassy which I did, since April d lawyer came for document verification of jst his birth certificate, since den I've not hrd anything from dem, I've written several mails to both d embassy. both my husband and I yet they dnt replied, my husband contacted d foreign office of his city bt they said there's nothing they can do, dat we shld jst kip contacting the embassy. my baby is 9months nw and still I don't know my faith, I started dis process wen he was jst 1month plus. I jst pray that God helps me and any1 in dis type of situation. Amen |

please tell ur spouse to get a lawyer from Germany. it's taking quite a long tmy. |
@ nwadiokay tell ur spouse to book d appointment for passport from Germany btw d hours of 1am to 3am. you will get a closer date and booking from Germany is better dan booking from Nigeria. just talking out of experience though cos my child has a Nigerian passport already bt the embassy said I shld apply for a German passport. Wish you all the best |
@ Nwadiokay, the embassy has sent me an email since September last year dat my Document verification was successful Bt bcoz I applied for my child a German passport as d embassy instructed, I've not bin asked to bring my passport or health insurance, they'll gv both together wen they r done wt d document verification of my child, I applied for a German passport for my child in October last year, got appointment for interview in December, lawyer came for verification of birth certificate in April and since den am still waiting, by God's Grace dis year will not pass me by. the earlier you apply for a passport or visa for ur child or children depending on your case, d better, so that they give mother and child d same tmy, unless you are ready to travel without your child. God will help us all. Amen |
if you had ur child after ur spouse got his citizenship den the embassy will tell you to apply for German passport even if that child already has a Nigerian passport Bt if ur child was born b4 ur spouse got his citizenship den u will apply for visa for ur child. dts hw it's done, so d earlier u book for passport appointment, d better, it doesn't tke tmy lyk d visa appointment |
Just as u said they used an immigration lawyer, dats d reason it went fast... My husband is a German too but we did Nigerian passport for our son 2 apply. whn we get 2 Germany we can apply for his German passport there cus d process is faster there. The embassy always ask ppl 2 apply 4 German passport 4 their kids knowing fully well it takes forever, your child has dual nationality so the child has d right to apply with Nigerian passport. Cuz is faster. A lot of ppl r in dis ship, applying 4 German passport from Nigeria is a long thing. May God help all of us!!! [Amen. Ok thank you ] |
Sorry abt this, it's so sad embassy takes forever to issue German passport, but I think is faster if u get a nigerian passport for d child and apply 4 d visa den whn u get to Germany u apply for German passport for the child cuz processing German passport from Nigeria takes forever. dear oriaku1 I have a friend who applied for a German passport for her daughter and went for the interview d same day I did, she's in Germany nw as I speak since May although her husband had to get a family immigration lawyer and I called the embassy before I started this passport process for my child and they said I should apply for my child a German passport not visa |
Ooh dear. That's a long time and this is exactly what I'm scared of. I pray you hear from them very soon [A very big Amen to that because am really suffering here ] |
this waiting period for my visa and child's passport hasn't been easy. I just pray it's over soon, I've been sent an email that my documents verification was successful since September last year, I guess it's because I put to birth here in Nigeria and my son's German passport is what is taking time. please does anyone know how long this child's passport process will take, at least from experience because their website says 4months or more. I miss my husband and the fact that my husband hasn't met his child is slowly driving him into depression |
dear Fabulousaify, I am actually in the same situation as you are right now. I put to birth last year October, my husband booked an appointment for passport application for my son since he's a citizen, I went for the interview in December, the lawyer came for verification of the birth certificate in April and since den I haven't heard anything. it's really a trying tmy for me because taking care of a child alone isn't easy on me and for a first tmy mum is very hard. |
