Autos / Re: N400,000 Brand New Cars Coming To Nigeria by merijo(f): 7:47pm On Jul 05, 2009
It is a $2000 car, yes the cheapest in the world but this car comes with no safety features whatsoever, no a.c etc. look for a second hand car instead, No other country will buy it. so they have decided to sell it to the stupid Nigerians, and make it seem like they are doing us a favor by selling us a death trap at such cheap price. They said they were making it for the poorest indian families who can't afford real cars. apparently the poor indians don't want it so we are the next natural choice.

Hey there muchbabe, been so busy but I am hoping to travel to Calabar soon ( maybe next week ) I will just look for an agent and if I am lucky to find a house I will just pay immediately and start relocation. No I don't have yim, just my email. I would feel weary about posting it.

If only we could go back to that time of 200 naira a month, I don't even think you can pay monthly for a house in Nigeria this days, unless you are in the village. It is 2 years rent or forget it.

It sounds like the right place for me. I would appreciate if you could talk to your people regarding the housing. I take it you are not in Calabar at the moment. We have been living in europe, I would say mostly in the UK. I came back because I wanted a change of scenery, so came back with son, then decided to start up a business. I have to see what the market would be like in calabar. it would involve me going to Hongkong/china.

thank you so muchbabe, I am glad to know there are no militants. It is a relief. When you say Calabar is laid back, do you mean ghostly quiet? I can handle a quiet place but not so much that you can't find anything to amuse yourself with. I am not much for the big cities, What about housing. do you by any chance have an idea how much renting a house would cost. in the GRA type place. or if you could link me up with estate agents, I would be mighty grateful.

Supermarkets type would be like park and shop in PH, just where I can get imported stuff, my son is allergic to almost all Nigerian foods. however if PH is not so far from Calabar. we can always pop there for weekly groceries.

How is the school, Is it very good? How about running a business, would it be a good place to open up a business? I am sorry I am asking so much questions, I just need to know becos I intend moving soon as poss.

Hello to everyone on nairaland, I am fairly new to the forum. I want to relocate to Calabar, I want to know what living there is like. Someone just told me thid morning that there are militants in Calabar, that they go to peoples home to kidnap them!! shocked I personally thought this only happened in places like PH, warri and Bayelsa state. I have a 7 year old son, we moved back to Nigeria about a year ago, we are in the north at the moment but I want to move out of the North because of fears of a riot waiting to happen. maybe it is all in my head (my imagination) but I don't want to take any chances.

So please tell me about Calabar, estate agents number, where is the best place to rent a house in calabar. is there constant power and water, are there good schools, supermarkets, Do militants really still operate there? thank you all in advance for taking the time to reply.

PS: spending a weekend in Calabar won't be a fair evalution of how life is in Calabar and don't use this post to tell me how good the calabar girls are in bed! oh, no! we will save that for another post unless you want to tell me if the men are just as BIG tongue tongue(I mean good) embarassed in bed embarassed
