Business / Re: 5 Things I Have Given Up Due To The Increasing Price by merits(m): 4:38pm On Feb 26
Printme1:
Things are really really getting pricey and to be sincere it seems the prices are increasing every single day.

Last time, I bought a bag of pure water for N300. The next I want to buy the same bag of pure water, it was N350.

I sha still bought it like that.

3 days later, they announced the new price, N500!

That's where I stopped buying. I was already struggling with the N350 per bag. But N500?

So now I drink from the borehole. After all others have been drinking from there and nothing do them.

Bread
Normally, bread of N200 and coke will be enough to sustain you for the day or maybe for the night.

I do it this very often.

But now eh, I can't even go close to bread again. The prices are something else.

I mean the last time I tried it, only 1k bread will make sense and honestly I can't be spending that much in a sitting all the time.

So I've left bread behind.

Same thing with noodles and spaghetti.

So, I'm stuck with cooking regular foods now. And I tend to get most of my food stuffs from the village "yam, beans, garri, rice".

We farm these things so we tend to have them in stock. But sometimes you still need to sell.

I saw some students already cooking with fire woods instead of gas due to the increasing prices.

They go to the bush in the school, either around the school zoo or the botany garden to gather firewoods and then cook at the back of the hostel.

Some just use it to parboil their beans before taking it to the hostel to complete the cooking with their gas.

Honestly, there's suffering in the land. In my school hostel, electric burner is not permitted but most students are using it because of the price of gas.

Even Christian brothers that will obey the rules, some are breaking the rules because of this hardship.

Sometimes I imagine what people on the streets will be going through right now especially those beggars.

God will help us.

For those wondering, I'm a student. And I think most students can testify that they are making heavy changes to their lifestyle right now.

If you have a child in school, please do call to check up on them regularly. Send them anything you can spare. E no easy right now.

Unfortunately we didn't experience this in MARS that I am is good to be in Mars everything is free here.Just think of anything you wish to eat it appears in your front and when you finished eating the plates vanished on its own.

Food / Re: How Much Is The Price Of Egg Roll In Your Area ? by merits(m): 4:28pm On Feb 26
Jewessgratitud3:
The last time I bought it, it was 250 so I stopped because it wasn't making any good financial sense to me. I then decided to make mine at home but ended up wasting it cos after having one large size, I was fed up. I kept the remaining five but couldn't resist the temptation of the eggs. That was how I removed and ate all the eggs leaving the dough which I later threw away because I was tired. It was very delicious and milky o but I don't know why anything I prepare myself dey quick tire me. undecided

See how much it cost me to make five Large egg rolls.

Half derica Flour -. 400
Sachet powder milk 100
One milk cup of sugar. 300. ( Didn't use all)
Powder Nut meg. 100
Veg oil. Half bottle 600
5 small sized eggs. 650
I had baking powder at home.

Making it a total of 2150 naira that I spent but could only eat one dough because I made them very large; not intentional though because the balls were small when I rolled them only for it to get to the fire and start rising beyond control shocked grin.

The thing pained me because it was too sweet but my mouth no gree accept am again. For now if I see egg rolls on the road I get full immediately. So that craving is gone for good grin.

natedroid:
I'm curious why (Japa) living and working in another country is seen as a big accomplishment in many black countries, especially Nigeria. What more do they have there besides good healthcare, infrastructure, and institutions? Does it suggest that black people living in Africa face poverty, lack of basic needs, poor health, and inadequate housing?

What was the average life of black people like before they had contact with the West, colonialism, and displacement by Europeans?

All I know is blessings come from above not abroad.

Travel / Re: I Want To Relocate To Gabon. Advice Me. Iā€™m A Teacher by merits(m): 3:46pm On Feb 26
mkbessman:
Please Iā€™ve been thinking about this since last year. I teach here In Nigeria. I canā€™t afford to go to the western or Asian countries but I think I can be able to save to move to Gabon to atleast teach.

Iā€™ve checked their minimum wage, unemployment rate and their exchange rate snd I think itā€™s better off than Nigeria. Please advise me. Iā€™m still single and in my mid 30s.

Is it worth taking a try? I know no one there.

I am willing to take the risk to go look for a job there with what Iā€™ve saved so far. Iā€™m projecting 500k.

Please I honestly and sincerely need your advice

salvationproject:
I am a fresh graduate, left NYSC few months back and recently landed a graduate trainee job at one of our commercial banks here in Nigeria. But I have been afraid recently. This is because I will be under sales/marketing. And I have been hearing of all these 50m, 90m, etc. deposit targets.
Training school will be commencing soon and a part of me is telling me not to report.
Please, who have experience how these things work? Advise me please.

If you are a man be ready to do gayish to meet up the target from your clients and meanwhile if you are a woman šŸ‘  be ready to get Bleep like a LovePeddler before you meet up the target from your clients.

Family / Re: My 13 Years Old Has Become Terrible! I Want To Send Her Back To Nigeria by merits(m): 3:50pm On Feb 24
Mrperfecto:
I will just be brief without writing too much.

We are based we have 4 children, my first child is 13 from my previous relationship, she has become very terrible, she doesn't listen to me or my wife. She tells her that she is not her biological mother and she cannot control her. She had threatened to call the police on my wife telling her if she touch her she will fight her back and call the police. She goes to school and closes at 3.45 her school is 10 mins walk from home, but she is always late for home.

She comes home around 6 sometimes 7pm , as I am writing now every friday she closes at 12.30 but she is still hasn't come back home yet.

I am on my way to work. I start at 6.30pm till 2.30am so I rarely get to see her and she only misbehaving when I am not around. So far we have seized her phone because we had found so many inappropriate messages exchanges between her and boys. We had also removed the TV from her room and her behaviour has gotten worse. She is behaving like she's possessed.

My wife and I are fed up. Even her siblings are tired of her. We want to send her back to Nigeria maybe in a boarding school until she is 18 in order to protect her younger ones. If we keep her and she continues with her terrible behaviour I may beat her badly and we may end up loosing all 4 children to the authorities.

Please what advice will you give to me concerning this issue?

So Nigeria is a dumping ground for terrible child šŸšøhold her there and train her, don't come and drop terrible child for us again we are already in terrible state.
