this thread is intended for those into catfish hatching - the experienced, new entrants and intended.
kindly share your experiences, hard times, challenges and new discoveries. Running a profitable catfish hatchery can be a very daunting venture especially for beginners.
Here is a few things to note:
1. have a good and constant water source, best is borehole water
2. have a pond to raise your broodstock, u can buy a good number of 5 months fast growing catfish and nuture it to about 14 months by them the females with egg should be good enough for use. note that males of up to 7 months old is good to go
3. sanitation and medication is very key...ensure that you keep all the materials you use clean and disinfect with salt regularly
