Gionee M2017, the company’s upcoming smartphone with whopping 7000mAh battery got certified in China last month. Today the company has announced that it will introduce the smartphone at an event on December 26th at Haikou Mission Hills. The phone will pack a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, powered by a 1.95 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 653 processor and will run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo OS 3.2 on top.

It features a 12-megapixel and a 13-megapixel dual rear cameras and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the front and weighs 230 grams.

Since the beginning of this year we read
reports about Samsung’s plans to release a foldable smartphone in 2017. Now a recent report from ET News states that the company is working on two different types of foldable smartphones.

According to the report, Samsung is pursuing a “two-track strategy” for these devices and is therefore developing two different types of foldable smartphones. The South Korean smartphone maker is developing ‘dual-screen’ smartphone that will sport flat display on each side. The other foldable smartphone will feature a single flexible OLED display.

Samsung is apparently going to examine responses from markets after releasing its dual-screen smartphone first and considering market responses it will introduce its foldable smartphone. The report claims that the first flexible smartphone from Samsung is expected to launch sometime next year while the second smartphone, featuring a single flexible display panel could debut in 2018.

Microsoft’s LinkedIn acquisition is a done deal six months after it was official announcement in June this year. The deal recently got a green signal from EU regulators. As a result of the acquisition, Jeff Weiner will remain CEO of LinkedIn, reporting to Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft.
