Learning should never stop. If you've mastered a language, nothing should stop you from learning something else. Languages rise and fall. Imagine what happened to those who had just Fortran in their toolbox. Fortran was once the bomb, but now if you know Fortran but don't know another lang , maybe like Julia, you're in soup.

So, I try to keep learning. Funny enough, it was when PHP messed me up in a performance critical application that I ran to Golang.

You've not been following up on the thread quite well. I'm arguing against PHP. I'm a full stack developer. I actually know vue, react, and riot very well. They're extensively used where I work. I'm saying knowing PHP and a dozen other languages , PHP is not the route to go .
