Use the right tools for the job. Can't just dump PHP. I love Go.. But would I build a blog with it? Not in this lifetime!! PHP was my first love... Would I build a real time app with it? Never!! Nodejs is jus there... Would I build a CPU intensive job with it... I don't think so.. I'm not gonna ditch PHP... ill just use it where it's most suited for. Short lived Web pages |

DanielTheGeek: There's nothing wrong with using CodeIgniter especially for a small project. Shine your eyes and stop criticizing. if you're really shining your eyes, you'd go through the codeigniter code and see a lot of bad practices. We're living in a PHP7 era and you're hyping a framework that's trying to maintain backwards compatibility up to php5.4. To load a class, driver or model, you'd have to do this $this->load->model('so_and_so') IN 2016 where composer autoloading is the de facto standard. Codeigniter was my first love. Then came Lithium, and then Laravel. Bros, ditch codeigniter and go for laravel or better still create your own framework (like i did). |

DanielTheGeek: I hope I got your attention... I'm asking not because I don't know it/I can't implement it but because I want to learn more, so I'm asking all the PHP dare-devils and e-wolves in the house to "help me work this thing out".
Note: Please, I prefer us to do more code than talking, lot's of people will also learn from this thread.
First off: My implementation on CodeIgniter was done using preg_replace (regexp) to strip out the @ and fetch the values after the '@' sign then pass it on to a controller that queries the db through a model for the value after the @ sign in my users table on the db. What I'm saying plainly is that, when you type: @FooBar, I strip off the '@' and search for any user called 'FooBar' in my users_table, If found, return a click able link to the view (front-end). Now, how will you go about implementing yours? Codeigniter in 2016? Naaah Bro. |

romme2u: who cares if php is dying or not. like every tool when it has outlived its usefulness, we abandon it and move to something better. Everyone who uses PHP cares. Facebook cannot just abandon PHP and move to another language. It will cost them so much cos the bulk of their codebase is in PHP. One reason why they created HHVM. Migrating to another language may not be as easy as you think depending on your area of expertise, codebase and time constraints |

chido4real: Actually, if you use the --mangle option with uglify, the code won't be exactly the same way it was even after beautification. Only hardcore pros would still be able to understand the code at that point. Like I said, "those who know what theyre doing" Wil know |
Programming › Re: Need Step On How To Hide Javascript Source Code. by micodon(m): 7:56am On Dec 01, 2016 |
You cant hide your client - side js code from anyone who knows what he's doing. The code would eventually get loaded by the user 's browser before it's interpreted and executed. Its a matter of using the network tab in the browser developer tools, getting the script(s) and beautifying if it has been uglified. Your efforts can only work on kids |

Mikel should be ashamed, it's young players that play in the Olympics and mediocre Bench warmers, well, I guess he has something to prove...This is his last chance to battle for a new contract.
I will be paying close attention to Nigeria's Umar sadiq(He's one of top 10 players to watch out for) and Takuma Asano(Wengers fluke signing) What nonsense.! The 2008 Olympics alone had these overaged players. Mascherano and Riquelme for Argentina. Ronaldinho and Thiago Silva for Brazil Odemwinge for Nigeria Roy Makaay for the Netherlands Rocchi for the Azzuris These ones I could remember.. 90% of them are footballing legends. Who told you only bench warmers go to the Olympics as overaged players. You prolly started watching soccer yesterday. |

OP this your post can only fool those who know nothing about Archimedes' Principle and concepts about buoyancy, upthrust and weight. The one true plausible explanation is that there's a hole caused by an earth tremor that the river flowed into. |

zeemahn: Doing what you say will only unearth tons of contradictions. Besides, There are many passages that were taken literaly until after a scientific discovery then y'all religious fellows will jump and shout 'it aint literal' Plus some Christian scholars claim that the creation story is lateral afteral nothing is impossible for jah lol. And jah makes but does not obey the laws of physics. When you find any contradiction, contact me for enlightenment |
Christianity Etc › Re: If God Created Everything, Who Created God? by micodon(m): 8:08am On Jun 20, 2016 |
zeemahn: Oga I did not misinterprete/misquote the bible. I only took a position many christians take. But then, what criteria do you use to detetermine what is literal and what is not in the bible? You look at a particular statement or idea in the light of the WHOLE BIBLE. For example, the Bible talks about a harlot. One may just take it literal, thinking the Bible is talking about a human. But when you read other passages in the Bible, like where the woman is said to sit on many waters, and where she is riding on the Dragon with seven heads and ten horns, you get to understand that she ain't a literal woman. So, to determine if stuff is literal in the Bible, you have to look at what other passages say about the topic. You don't just look at a passage in isolation. This requires regular and thorough study of the Scriptures |

... please, remind me of the basis on which I made that assertion?... I suppose you would agree that when making such assumptions, an event must be possible within the framework of KNOWN science, otherwise, one could simply conjure up any description or semi-mystical event he wishes in his attempt to make his model work... so, as long as I didn't break that rule, my argument remains logical... Still shooting yourself on the foot. Please define faith |
