Hello everyone,

I’ve got a few questions and I’ll appreciate all answers.

Firstly, I’m coming back from the UK to Lagos to apply for a new student visa. I’ve got a Barclays Bank account and I was wondering if I can use my UK bank statement to apply for the visa in Nigeria?

Secondly, my uni starts on the 6th of Jan 2020 and I’m very aware that I can make my application 3 months before the time. My current visa expires at the end of this month and I was wondering if it’s still possible to make an application here in the UK or I would need to come back and make the application?

Thirdly, I plan to fly on the 28th of October but print out the statement beforehand and bring it back with me. I’ve heard conflicting information that the bank statement needs to be printed on the morning that I submit all my visa documents at the embassy, how true is this please?

Finally, does anyone know how long before my course starts I can be granted entry back into the UK?

Sorry for the long questions. I’ve been lurking on this thread and I appreciate all the insightful informations on here.

Abeg, there's no point going to the collection centre if you haven't got the email inviting you to come collect. I was at the V.I collection centre today, sat in a long queue and then queued again upstairs. I had gotten the decision email since Saturday (but not the collection one). The guy at the counter simply tracked my application and said "it's not ready". That was all.

If I had got the email, I could have at least argued that I was told to come, but I just wasted my time going there today. I guess I was just really curious to know the outcome because time is very vital in situations like these.

You are right, I got the decision email and I Usain Bolted to V.I and I was told "it wasn't ready".
The first thing I was asked was "have you gotten the collection email from TLS"?? I couldn't argue. Lol
I just crawled back home disappointed, only for me to get the collection email few minutes afterwards.

You will get the collection email immediately it arrives. Just chill and hope for the best.

Nope, it's not a problem. I booked a virgin atlantic flight online last year, missed out my middle name but everything was fine. Your first and last name would suffice. I'm not entirely sure about other airlines, though.

I just booked my flight and I omitted my middle name which appears on my passport.

I just got a reply from them. They said that I have to go back to the visa application center to request for the correction. And I can't right now. I can't travel again.

I got a different response from them though, stating that Undergraduate degree or so might be the reason why I got 10hrs but nevertheless I should go back to the VAC where I applied for correction. Blah blah blah.

And like you, I don't stay in Lagos, I already left with my packages

Will correct it immediately I get into the UK. Hopefully.

I just need their email add so that I can sort it out here. I am not interested in sorting it out there o. Somebody help us o.

I sent an email to UKVI and it takes one working day to get a response. I am not sure if that's the right email for such complaints though.

There's really nothing you can do now about the interview. You just have to go and pick up your passport.

I have been following this thread for a while now.
Thanks for all the wonderful contributions.

I submitted my application on the 30th of July. I have been asked to come and pick up but I have been nervous cause of a slight oversight. When I was registering for my TB test, I added my Uncle's address in the U.K instead of adding my school address, is this a problem?
Tho my school representative(agent) said it isn't. But I do think it is, plus my credibility interview I had was also a cold feet flop for me.

So do you guys think there should be any problem??
