Born2berich: The deceit on the NSE is really worrisome. Imagine C& I leasing trying to cajole unsuspecting investors to buy their shares by declaring 4kobo dividend..Some people must have unknowingly bought this stock to enjoy from the dividend payout only to be caught by this hocus-pocus share reconstruction trap.

NAscon last week friday is another coy that capitalized on the rumoured salt-water cure for ebola..SOme unsuspecting people bought this stock based on this rumour and immediately the cowboys dumped their shares and left with their loot leaving investors again to lick their wounds. Maybe the friday salt sales might increase their Q3 result positively who knows. smiley

The coy that gets me worried is the noise maker. Anyways wetin i know sef. Na night school i take finish education.
No Sir, they left traders to lick their wounds. When you decide to jump on a bus base on hearsay, then expect anything.

Ugosample: Thank you. please house indulge my curiosity, which stock brokering firm will you recommend for a beginner like me, and what are the requirements for opening an account with them. Thank you in advance.
Sir, the "Choice" is simply a ball in your court, because your stockbroking firm must fit into the grand plan of your investment ideology. Utility bill, current account and a driving license should do

I use both Chrome and Firefox now, the good thing about the duo is that, they avail you the opportunity of updating them.

ogbs2020love: funny enough I bought conoil at 22 naira in early 2013 . long term is better.
Bless God for you Sir, but some people bought FBNH at #20 too and after 24months they're left with 20+% capital depreciation and with the way things are going, Q3 could be a disaster if their new aquisition is not churning out profit. It could have gone either way my brother.

passwelle: Conoil may be on full bid today.
7.5m units bid from pre-market. Thats more than 1% of the Company's OS grin.
You don't expect anything less my brother, buying now is still a good deal.Comparing dividend yield in the sector, conoil's seem to be the best so far, though we're hoping that FO will also do us proud. Then going forward, conoil low outstanding shares is a good thing for investors.

Our laughter can only start after the board meeting, because last year #2 was declared only for them to make a turn around to pay #1 stating bad Q2 result as a reason. This is no discouragement for traders oh, buying now is still a premium because some people entered at #79.

The use of the word cowboys in your quoted post was to imply the more you hear the less you understand. With that said, Oando PLC is a group with OER as one of its subsidiaries and having a stake of about 92% which later increased to 93.6...%. Oando PLC is planning to reduce its stake by issuance of equity to get some other things done I guess: they have eyes into other acquisitions like; Total's OMl 138 which sale failed to sail through to Sinopec and other similar acquisitions.
MissJones: Hmm... Before I respond to the above, let me first say hello to everyone in the house. I have been following the thread for a while now, getting investment tips here and there. Shout out to ogas Born2berich, Dexterax, myjoy08, Dragonking, Yem0350, evilspirit and other great men and women here.

Back to the above quote. Please, can you assist in explaining the divestment further...I hope WT will not turn oando plc to a shell company soon.

Thanks
.

grin Brother, no vex now, whether na 200 or 200million units all na same. The profit is always in percentages, so everyone according to his/her size.

Trulie: Believe it or not most of you guys have derailed the entire thread. I hardly read the op's comment anymore. I guess he's equally frustrated at the sight of the thread now being `ebolized' by OANDO.
Forbes did a piece on Wale Tinubu yesterday, CNBCAfrica has a video on this COP deal, a lot of people have their hard earned cash in this OANDO and you call discussion about Oando a "derailment" of thread....Hmm

Moneysage: @dsonofmaan: Your observation on Oga Agbalowomeri was on point. cheesy

@all: pls permit me to share 2 things that may be of help to someone cos Moneysage don't know it all. I enjoy this thread a lot and pple may be missing something out:

1. When I discovered this thread, I had to ask myself:"Who is saying the truth? Do these pple actually buy/sell what they proclaim? Can they really disclose some info?..." No one can sure of who in a faceless forum. But pple hear the motherly JIJO of mercilicious, the OKOMU preaching of Dexterax, the ever positive insider info of oga myjoy08 and they conclude these pple are making sense. Now, when they turn to SMN and see melancholy, they start calling pple names (analyst e.t.c). Why would u bliv what anyone is saying...someone u cant see? U read analysis on Oando on SMN and u start thinking negative? Do u know why d person wrote it? Why would u think everyone has the same sincerity on NL and SMN? If myjoy08 appears real, does it mean every other comment u read online are worth considering?
Sir, the negativity of the so-called analysts on SMN helps in balancing and weighing of options, not only that, it makes you look deeper than what you'd ordinarily have looked. If we are paid salary in form of dividends:who do you think is going to benefit more?, who footed the bill of the 2billion special placement?, what change did this brought to the holing structure?, and many more forward looking questions come to mind because of the intellectual argument emanating from the duo. I think having this opportunity is a great one no matter how skeptical we are about the facelessness of the fora.

Dragonking: Are you guys not tired of these false observation? mercyliciuos say omajo1 is iharry..bigass say myjo08 is ambitous na you have come out to say you own. na wa.
grin grin Sir, sorry if my assertions struck you as "false",but I've only seen and heard of one man, whose investment ideology fits what Sir Agbalowomeri pointed out in his post. This man noticed Mobil few weeks ago and has always being the proponent of 7up as our new Nestle in the making. I guess the semblance is much, if they are not the same.
InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by miftpulse: 11:24pm On Jul 29, 2014
Agbalowomeri: Top picks one year horizon or long term;

Afriprud at 3.0 or lower, if possible; ROE 25%, growth over 50%, expected dividend yield on cost > 10%, attractive outstanding shares, stable business

7 up; ROE 37%, considerable and consistent yoy growth, very attractive oustanding shares (could follow in the ways of Nestle), continuous uptrend for 5 years, attract pe of < 10

Mobil; ROE 125% (likely be around 50-70% year end), pe of 4 (unheard of, may be around 7 year end), possible dividend yield on cost of 8%, Massive Q1 growth of over 500%

Disclosure; no money yet to buy
Now I know Agbalowomeri = Valuefront of SMN, that is the only man with the 200% capital appreciation theory. Naira land thank you for this Sir.

Aks: People panick too much on this thread and majority see Stock as cash cow where you only make profit all the time and any slight deviation from the norm will be taken out of context. We should take it easy and have the mind to HOLD on and if not Sell and CUT your loss ASAP. Nobody knows the direction of the market but i believe you can always go to bed on some stocks irrespective of the mode (BULL OR BEAR). I wish you guys a good day filled with greenish portfolio and if not green, you can manage the red for some time smiley smiley smiley
My bother, if there's no panicking, how can there be buying opportunities for some people?. A cycle that must be completed. grin

zendi: Nobody's memory is short. The approval does not mean that the fear of political vindictiveness in our Nigerian/African environement was misplaced. With somebody like OBJ in Aso Rock, that Consent application would have been dead on arrival. Go check out Savanah bank, Slok Air etc. Many possible forces could have intervened including, possibly, diplomatic intercession. Afterall, the Americans are currently helping us look for Chibok girls.

But, whatever is the case, the successful outcome of that Ministerial Consent saga, to me, given prevailing political circumstances, is a great testimony of GEJ's political and democratic sagacity.

You will not perish. All major obstacles have been overcome.
Bros are you sure that consent was not a swap for PDP's victory in Ekiti state. Just saying

miftpulse: It's appalling that some people went to our sister forum labelling others as mediocres. Mind you, we all have our stories and methodologies as it suit us, name calling of such is purely an arrogant posturing. Adults that presume their way is the only way are incapable of learning and such are going to stunt their growth.
@janykute. This was my reaction to his wrongdoing.

janykute: No one has insulted him so far, just waiting for the day he will come back if at all shame will allow him.By the way if you are his advocate or one of his followers ask him to log on(if he hasnt forgotten his password)and explain to us why he called Nairaland mediocre on our sister forum.
Brother, take am easy. My comment in no way advocated for him, all am saying is to allow the repeated references to him( directly or indirectly) to stop.
